Hello there Everypony,

   My name is Dan, and I've been a brony since just before the start of season two. I started to see some evidence of the fandom online, and became curious as to what the hubbub was all about. I watched the first 2 episodes, and really liked them! The story, the characters, the art and animation, and the music were all superior to practically all the cartoons of my childhood, and most of what I've seen of modern cartoons.

  Haven't been to a con, or a meetup yet, but I'd love to go. I've had some trouble locating people in my area who share a love of the show and the fandom, so I;ve decided to reach out on this world wide web, information superhighway internet thing.

  I'm 28 years old, going to be starting college in the fall for a degree in illustration, My favorite movies include Robocop, Die hard, Pee-Wee's Big adventure, Eraserhead, I tend to like heavy music, but I enjoy Lots of different styles and artists. My favorites are GWAR, and Oingo Boingo. I also really enjoy, Kansas, Ghoul, Lady Gaga, and Exodus. I enjoy drawing, painting, woodworking, and other do it yourself projects. My brother and I are currently building a MAME arcade cabinet!

  I hope to meet some cool dudes, and dudettes on here, and I would ultimately love to meet some people who would like to be pen pals! I think writing letters is a dying form of communication, and that's a shame. There are few pleasures that match receiving a letter in the mail that is NOT a bill, or junk.

A degree in illustration, huh? Sounds interesting. It's also pretty cool that you actually like to write letters, don't have too many people doing that anymore due to things like email and Facebook.

Thanks Guys! Everyone seems very friendly here, I'm sure It will be a pleasurable time I Know of a few Conventions in my area. I was going to Volunteer at the Brooklyn BroNYcon, but I didn't have the money for the hotel room over the weekend. I'm from Northeastern Pennsylvania, In driving distance to NYC and Philadelphia.  I haven't heard of a ton of Cons in the Area aside form New York.

Awesoooooooome! thanks, Duder! I love exodus, and lots of older thrash bands. There's a good thrash resurgence going on the past several years. I actually used to do vocals in a metal band... very underground... like... only geologists knew of us, haha.

Cool. My favorite thrash metal band is Destruction. As for modern thrash, Warbringer is a great band and so is Skeletonwitch.
