Acheron gritted his teeth as he saw the signature hieroglyph of Apophis appear yet again. It was dimmer this time though, so Acheron wasted no time in extracting the rest of the energy from Ra's ancient guardians to again fight off the serpent's influence. That powerful energy, coupled with the light energy of the talisman, quickly eliminated the hieroglyph along with the influence. Acheron held Zefira's body close to his as he prayed for her to awake.

Draco began to check on Zefira and he smiled as he saw the malignant magic get's destroy "There now for the rest of the magic to dissipate," Draco said as he began to whisper "Come back to Acheron Zefira," he said into her ear as he watched the magic heal her body back to 100% . "Bingo now all she needs to do is wake the hell up. Does any pony have cold water?"

"Oh, I am fine...Is probably just...umm..." Dimitri tried coming up with an explanation for what just happened, but was having a hard time believing it himself. He coughed some more and gritted his teeth in pain. His throat stung, and more black some came from his mouth. "Is good idea to get Acheron..." Dimitri finally gave in as he coughed some more.

Zefira's head was soon filled with light, she heard the voices of Acheron and Draco. She soon opened her eyes to see a worried Acheron. She looked around and saw that she was not in a hole like she feared she was.

"You didnt discard me?" She asked

She then looked at her body and saw a used up Talisman on her.

"Draco and Acheron...did you heal me?"

Delia nodded and felt a little victorious.
"Ok follow me then. Also, can you trot by my side...I would feel more comfortable if you did." Delia said.

In truth Delia was worried Dimitri might collapse. Either from pain or from the disease he may or may not have.

Diamond was about to reply to Draco as he finished his song...but he flew off to help Acheron. "I'll just keep looking." She mumbled, looking back at the pile of rubble.
She sighed before using her magic to search the pile for the artifact.

Dimitri nodded. "Only reason I am agreeing is because I am not dying before I save her..." He spoke hoarsely as his throat felt like it was beginning to tighten and burn. He tried to pick himself up, and through some amazing feat, he managed to do so. He got himself up, and got next to Delia. "I will walk with you, but if I fall do not try and catch me...I am too heavy for anypony to catch..."

"Nope not I it was Acheron that healed you," Draco said as he walked back to Diamond and nuzzled her gently. He whispered into Diamond's ear "I'll protect you and Delia with my life if I have to," he smiled at her with a gentle smile. He hummed a slight tune as he helped her.

Delia nodded.

"Understood, Dimitri. If that happens, i will bring Acheron to you." She said.

Delia was about to make a slight joke but assumed Dimitri wasnt in the mood to be laughing. Delia continued walking and kept an eye on Dimitri. She stopped for a second and looked around. Delia soon caught the voices of Draco and Acheron.

"They aren't too far away."

Dimitri nodded and began to follow Delia. He heard the noises of his other allies in the distance, but they sounded rather close. "Yes, let us hurry..." Dimitri said as he struggled to keep himself up. Other than his throat burning, the scars on his eyes started to burn, and several vessels were visible through the skin. They were jet black, and the whites of his eyes were also becoming black. Almost like they were bloodshot, but black instead of red.

Acheron was overcome with joy as he saw Zefira wake up. He lifted her up in a tight hug and couldn't help but impulsively kiss her.

"I'm so glad you're alright," Acheron said as he blushed. Sure it kind of exposed his more kinder side to others he didn't care much for, but right now he didn't care much for anything but Zefira.

Delia grew increasingly worried. She tried to think of what ailment Dimitri could have.

Could it be that that thing is still inside him? No...he is too strong willed for that to happen. she thought.

Zefira's eyes drew in a surprise as she felt the kiss of Acheron. She felt overwhelmed with great happiness coupled with sadness. She felt like she got in the way of Acheron and caused a problem which made her hate herself. Zefira started crying.

"Im sorry! I was trying to help out...and then you blasted me instead of that viking...i thought you would toss my lifeless body away." She  sobbed.

Acheron simply held Zefira as she cried, nuzzling her mane to try and comfort her.

"I would never do that... I'm so overjoyed you're still ok. I'm sorry I didn't foresee that trickery, it's my fault you ended up getting hurt..."

Acheron felt the same warmth in his soul again, and simply waited for Zefira to calm down. Again, he showed his kindness to her, not speaking in the same cold way he spoke to the others but instead with affectionate words.

Dimitri blinked his eyes and tried to take several breaths to relax himself. He felt a sharp pain in his eyes. "Is there anything wrong with my eyes...?" He asked Delia. His eyes were now completely jet black, and his pupils were a deep shade of purple. His scars were still showing the black vessels underneath his skin. They seemed to be taking over more of his skin. "Feeling bad mate?" An elegantly accented voice spoke inside Dimitri's mind.

Zefira simply buried her face in Acheron. Something about the stallion seemed to be calming her down. After a while she her bawling subsided and she soon started to become sleepy.

This emotional hill is too much for me right now. She thought 

Zefira pulled herself away from Acheron long enough to look at him. Her eyes were puffy from the crying and some tears were still in the corner.

"Acheron...please dont ever leave me." She said softly fighting back the urge to cry again.

Delia examined Dimitri thoroughly. She didnt like what she saw but kept calm.

"Your eyes seem a little...blacker than usual...I...I'm going to get Acheron...stay here whilst i do so." Delia said as she began to trot nonchalantly towards Acheron. He seemed a little preoccupied with Zefira; as if something happened between them.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I need to borrow you for a second Acheron...it's Dimitri."

Acheron kissed Zefira again and brought his eyes to meet hers.

"I won't ever leave you Zefira... I... I love you..."

Acheron hugged her tightly once more, before levitating her to rest on his back after noticing her eyes struggling to stay open. Delia walked towards him and spoke afterwards.

"What's wrong with him?"

Zefira smiled and rubbed her face on Acheron's back making herself comfortable. She played around with Acheron's hair trying to make herself a makeshift pillow out his locks. She gently squeezed him and rested her head.

"Have I ever told you...your soft.." Zefira said as her voice died down. 

With the little energy she had left she kissed Acheron and fell asleep.

Delia smiled as she saw Zefira cuddle up to Acheron, and Acheron's romantic gesture.

"It looks like you found love, no? Anyways I think a dark presence still resides in Dimitri. I'm not sure as I am no shaman."Delia said, still looking at the couple with adoring eyes.

Draco looked up and said "It's probably that primordial snake Aphosis or something Delia. Anyhow yeah looks like the assassin and the dark mage got together no? Heh well it's alittle bit ironic don't you think," Draco said as he started to get to work finding the artifacts. He smiled at the two but with in his chest was the fires of jealousy was set ablaze.

Acheron smiled as Zefira fell asleep on his back.

"Sweet dreams..."

The unicorn then turned back Delia, preparing to assume his more brooding and cold attitude.

"Yes... finally I have," Acheron said, a smile coming to his face as he looked at Zefira's adorable sleeping expression. "But come now, show me to Dimitri... what's happening to him?"

"We all deserve love, Draco." Delia said as she was reminded of Dimitri's words.

 

"Anyways, Acheron please follow me...and quickly." Delia said as she started to trot in the direction where she had left Dimitri. 

"As i said i think a dark presence is still inside him. He is coughing up nails and his eyes seem sinister."

"When this is over we are celebrating you know. and non of Pinkie Pie's parties oh no we're throwing an O'Malley party. Drinks abound and a whole lot of liquor. Maybe some Aqua Lucidius for those ones who drink poison think Celestia would like to host it at her castle?" Draco asked his voice was hopeful at the prospect of throwing an O'Malley party,"

Dimitri was alone, as Delia had left to get help. He sat down, but then collapsed on the ground. He felt sick, and felt a burning in his chest. He looked at the bandages, and noticed that his scars underneath were black, and seemed to be spreading. He started to cough again. More nails. Six more. "What is this...?" Dimitri whispered to himself as he started to cough more.

Acheron spotted Dimitri from afar and galloped over to him. The poor stallion seemed to be on the verge of collapsing. It was definitely some dark influence, reminding him of the many different curses he placed on ponies and on others back when he started making silent moves against his enemies in his homeland.

"Dimitri, why didn't you call for help sooner?!"

"Because, I not need any help." Dimitri said as he glared at Acheron. His eyes were cold, and piercing. "Especially from a greedy dark magic user." He added as he coughed harder into his arm. On the outside Dimitri was becoming cold and distant again, but inside he tried to retain his normal self. "Why am I acting like this?" He thought as he tried to regain control of himself. Dimitri began to cough harder, and black smoke rose from his mouth.

Delia galloped behind Acheron but stopped short. She gave the two stallions soom room in case they needed it.

"It's my fault...I should have been the one to call for help sooner" Delia said.

Although Delia looked panicked, underneath she was calm.

I really hope he is ok. 

"Is there anything I can do?"

Acheron only glared back at Dimitri. That insult and that black smoke was all too familiar.

"So is that it then Dimitri, you're going to let that idiot Wrath use you again? You're practically on the verge of death yet you still are too prideful to acknowledge you need help!"
