Treeboy 418 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 If you need me I'll be crying in the corner over there. I'm just saying, seeing how Mr. Moonshire has fessed up about liking things like Ke$ha, you could hold off on recommending a noisy album like Filth. It's a great album, but it won't click with everyone right away.

I probably should have recommended an album like Daydream Nation, Meat Is Murder or Surfer Rosa.

Woohoo 29,632 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 I hate how some people who claim to be thrash fans only listen to the big 4 plus Pantera and Iron Maiden. I've seen it a YouTube several times before. Yeah... since when is Iron Maiden considered a thrash band? Man, people on Youtube are so stupid... Onto the opinions. I don't know about any of you, but I feel there hasn't been anything revolutionary in music since... I don't know. Music is better than boobs. One of my favorite artists is avril lavigne, but I like so many genres of music, from electronic, to rap, to symphonic orchestral, to some metal, to weird japanese pop, to nightcore, to pop, to some rock, to god know what else xD

Moog the Kvlt 1,459 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 That... that... i mean, that was like 10x worse than any 80's rock I have ever heard. My ears. They bleed. Seriously tho, that was waayyy to.. distorted? It sounded like two rusty robots humping? xD That is what we call "No Wave" it was basically a backlash against the "New Wave" bands that were getting popular at the time, it wanted to sound like the opposite of those bands. Trust me, if you were into really abrasive and harsh sounding music then you'd realize that Filth is a goldmine of an album. If I were to ever show anyone their first Swans song, it would be this one: As for 80's bands that you might like, Depeche Mode might be a band that you'd dig The album that this song was from released in 1990 though Depeche Mode were around since the early 80's DAMMIT DAWN, WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND NO WAVE TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF NO WAVE. YOU WOULDN'T RECOMMEND HARSH NOISE TO A PUNK ROCK FAN, WOULD YOU? He's Dawn, just let him be

One of my favorite artists is avril lavigne, but I like so many genres of music, from electronic, to rap, to symphonic orchestral, to some metal, to weird japanese pop, to nightcore, to pop, to some rock, to god know what else xD So, are we guys recommending stuff now? I wanna join the party Anyways, keep in mind that I don't base these recommendations on your current music taste, but these bands seems to be bands that click right away for many people (Speaking from experience here). However, keep in mind that you may not like the vocals at your FIRST listen I might be cheating here, but whatever. The quality is horrid, but try to look past that I was really tempted to post Talking Heads and The Smiths, but I guess I'll have to pass on that :c
Exuro Spark 5 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 If we're recommending things, then I'm gonna suggest The Silent Comedy. I'm more of a rock/metal fan, but this band is freaking amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC9POpjnB9g
LMW-YBC 102 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 - I hate it when people generalise any type of EDM music as Dubstep, especially if it shares little-to-no attributes with it. - Rouge's "Exogenesis" is fucking disgusting. - Neurofunk/hop is a really under-appreciated scene that should be getting much more attention. - SimGretina is best Brony producer. - Let's Be Friends' first EP is the best EDM EP ever. - Avicii's "Levels" is rather overrated. - Eminem is the epitome of rap. - I prefer Skream's Disco tracks over his Dubstep tracks. - "Make It Bun Dem" has the best snare I've ever heard. - David Guetta's older tracks were his best. THANK YOU - I prefer Skream's Disco tracks over his Dubstep tracks. I.... just..... I don't even know what to say. I guess I'll just say "Skream!" for now - "Make It Bun Dem" has the best snare I've ever heard. *ahem* My opinions: I think El P is the best experimental Hip Hop artist out there, nothing can change my mind on this one
LMW-YBC 102 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 *ahem* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KandVSZbZAM Ah, now that's one of Skream's best Dubstep tracks right there! But in regards to the snare, while it is pretty powerful, it kinda reverbs a bit too much IMO. Nonetheless, it's a good snare for a brilliant piece of music
Le Kvlt Dawn 2,363 August 21, 2013 Author Share August 21, 2013 Gonna bring this back to life woooo! I prefer Doolittle over Surfer Rosa, deal with it. The Smiths are better that The Cure. (inb4 Moog) The Smiths aren't post-punk. I think it's dumb how people label certain genres of music as "masculine" and "feminine", it's all gender neutral to me. Some pop music is good, like from anime and stuff. I prefer Nirvana's b-sides over their singles, but then again I like ALL their stuff. I probably going to sound like an elitist right now, but unlike a lot of "Nirvana fans" I've actually listened to Incesticide, From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah, Live at Reading and With the Lights Out in their entirety. Bleach and Nevermind are equally as good IMO, but In Utero is their best album. I really like how In Utero has a lot influences from the Pixies (a band that I like A LOT). Aneurysm (version from Incesticide) is my favorite ever Nirvana song ever. And I'm done lol.

There's no real difference... Yes, yes I do. It is an unpopular opinion, My reasoning is not that the music is better, I just have a partiality towards it that I can't explain. I feel more connected to songs related to the show than other music, so I like to listen to it more Edited August 21, 2013 by ~Luminiferous Ether~

That's like comparing apples to bread, they're way too different. Same with rock and classical, they're both too different. OT: I don't like Lady Gaga's music but I can't find a reason to hate her. I like beef, it makes things interesting and you get some rad diss tracks out of it. I've learned more about guns from listening to N.W.A than from any video game. Honestly, most brony music is just as bad as the stuff on the radio. I hate it when people bring ukuleles to school just to impress other people. ~Luminiferous Ether~ 107 August 21, 2013 Share August 21, 2013 What's "Normal Dubstep"? I suppose at the time I meant it to be 'pure' dubstep and not a derived form ( Brostep, Metalstep ) Now I'm not so sure, having done a major recheck on the music I listen to. I'm not an avid listener of dubstep, although I do enjoy it, so I hope you can understand what I mean
