" Steel put his other hoof to his chin. "I would like to attain a title that hasn't been held for close to a thousand years." He said with a chuckle. As if to acknowledge the ridiculousness of his goal while still being committed to it. ((Its all good, Bru. I was just messing around I have caught myself doing that a few times)) Ocean smiled. "Steel the great...four sword fighting pony." She giggled. Meanwhile...up the river, there was a small crack and a tiny amount of water began to flow out. Iron Hoof was driving the truck at the front of the pack and was only just about a quarter of the way across the river bed. Ano170 162 May 14, 2013 Share May 14, 2013 (edited) "Ok, sure." He began to walk to the back of the truck when it began to move again. He poked his head out and saw they were crossing a river, and a pony-made dam was blocking most of the water. Temporarily, at least. "Well, from what I can see, that blast was dynamite." He looked back at Feather. "Oops, your nose isn't taken care of yet." He got the towel in his magic, walked over to her, and gently dabbed her nose."Thanks," Feather told Dox, trying her best to hold still for him. It was easier for her to concentrate now Paradox was only using his magic and not coming into direct contact with her. Listening, Feather could now hear the sound of water passing rather slowly somewhere ahead of them. "So what did we blow up?" Tomorrow I have a biology exam so I might not be able to post anything until later on in the afternoon, so feel free to move Paradox along at some point during the conversation if you don't want to be stuck waiting. " Nothing much. I only recently left school," she told him, "so nowadays mostly I just write, work part-time jobs, that sort of thing. Only I needed some experience and inspiration, so I started looking for an adventure and heard about the expedition - signed up to be a crew member without thinking twice." Feather laughed. "I'm not much of a seapony though." She turned to Paradox, being careful with her words - she didn't want him to think she was prying or get upset again. "What about you Dox? Milk Wave 454 May 14, 2013 Share May 14, 2013 @, Giant saw no particular reason to give the little runt any of his attention, partiularly as there were more important things around him. Then again, on one hoof, a little insubordination might have distracted him enough to get across this awful thing and rejoin the front tip of the convoy. Then again, at his age, your back didn't bend as easily. He was far too proud to be quite that pragmatic about it. If she wanted to be a nuisance, let her be one on her own time. In a bit, she still hadn't received a reply from Giant yet. Even with poking, pushing, and lifting, he would not move from his spot. But she stopped and looked at the rocks upstream, which caught Moon's eye for a moment. A slight bit of water had started to seep through the cracks which caused her to become slightly desperate. She then eyed Giant again and turned pointed where the rocks were. "Uhh, Giant? You may want to get a move on if you want to stay alive."

Cascade looked around, blankly. "I didn't... Maybe I fell asleep during them or something." She looked confused, and rather tired as well. "The dam up there exploded too, didn't it? It looks broken." Dawn Stripes 301 May 14, 2013 Share May 14, 2013 @, Giant's eyes widened when he saw the rock wall begin to crumble. But his hooves didn't move for him, and only after some effort, the only direction he could move was backward--rapidly and unsustainably. Afterwards, noting that most of the other ponies were on the far side, Giant ground his teeth and resorted to less dignified methods. He snagged the nearest truck possible and began 'creatively repacking' the cargo. Fully armed, even not armed, Giant was too big to simple sit in the back of a loaded truck. The final result, with some assistance, was giant standing on the base of the truck bed with boxes and compressed air canisters stacked above and around him, mostly burying his body and leaving the Kalash barrels sticking out of the top of the mess like a bizarre AA turret. At this rate, he couldn't move his body even if he wanted to. The truck was dangerously close to weight capacity regs, but when Giant closed his eyes, it chugged its way across the stream with him in tow, slowly, but deliberately.

He got the truck moving faster now, and soon they were on the dam and moving across it. Nightfall hoped it wouldn't break while they were on it. Agent505 660 May 15, 2013 Share May 15, 2013 (I have nothing of importance to add, but i'm posting because I haven't for what feels like a while. It's probably only been a few hours. Also - now) Frostbite began to wander around for a while, instead of staying at the back of the trucks like she was supposed to. Instead she decided to walk up and down the sides of them as they moved slowly for a while, and then they suddenly picked up speed. "Well it's about time!" her voice picked up a distinct sound of glee at the change of pace, and she began trotting sarcastically through the ankle deep water, turning the immediate moisture into ice on contact and laughing merrily as she almost began to skip through. She was about half way through the river when she heard a very faint rumble and looked on to the blockade, seeing water start to creep through the gaps. "Well...I could do something...nah" she rambled to herself before bursting into a full gallop to the other end of the river, turning and waiting for the remainder of the convoy to pass as she bounced up and down on the thin ice. But she kept an eye on him until he piled into the bed of one of the trucks. Moon gave one last glance at the dam before it broke, and took flight to cross over once it had. Ano170 162 May 15, 2013 Share May 15, 2013 (edited) @, (OOC: Sounds fair enough to me. ). Dox actually had to think about this for a minute. (OOC: So was that last bit in Dox's head? I'll just skirt around it for now and edit later if necessary. Sorry, my brain is fried from my biology exam...). Before Feather could reply, there was a loud crash, followed by the sound of rushing water, and the truck began to pick up speed. She shot Paradox a worried glance. "Well it sounds like things are going just wonderfully out there." She laughed - maybe just a little hysterically. Feather ran to the end of the truck and stuck her head out. What she saw made her breath hitch and her stomach lurch. "Holy..." Instinctively Feather's wings lifted her into the air, not that it would do her much good if she got caught in the river rushing towards them. She hovered the air, paralyzed save the frantic flutters of her wings. "Uh...Dox. We should really...ah. We should probably um..." Feather shook her head in an effort to clear it, turning back to look at Paradox. "You really should come see this. Our hooves are about to get a little wet." Count Paradox 3,548 May 15, 2013 Share May 15, 2013 Dox had noticed the loud, cracking noise, but wasn't that worried. 'They'll get everypony across safely.' He thought as he watched Feather begin to freak out a little bit. He felt like he had to grab her hoof and pull her close to him, telling her to calm down as he stroked her mane, but he didn't. When she called him over to look out of the truck, he walked over and peered out, his eye widening a bit. "Ok... Maybe we are in trouble."
Ano170 162 May 15, 2013 Share May 15, 2013 (edited) "Aye, maybe." Feather nodded - then she winced, hoping she hadn't sounded sarcastic. She frowned. "So what do you propose we do?" The truck was beginning to feel rather flimsy. Images of different scenarios flashed through Feather's head: in one, she and Paradox stayed in the truck, and it was obliterated by a wall of water; in the other, they got out of the truck, and were swept away. Why do you always have to second guess yourself, Quill? Because, she replied. Few of my peers did it for me - until they figured out I was a pseudo-intellectual anyways. It's a habit.
