Dusty Soul 2,611 August 25, 2012 Share August 25, 2012 I used to be a furry and honestly I didn't sense any brony hate. If there was then I wasn't a part of it.
EpicMuffinTime 212 August 25, 2012 Share August 25, 2012 (edited) My friend is a furry...he likes me just fine...plus people hate on us all the time, not just furries...btw what is this new found "hatred" that furries have for bronies...im confused Edited August 25, 2012 by TheEpicBrony
QuantumDot 5 August 25, 2012 Share August 25, 2012 I'm a furry and a brony, and I've come across the anti-brony/pegasister furs. No, I don't think it's a case of jealousy. Their fear/hatred of bronies/pegasisters comes from the same place as the fear/hate the general public sometimes feels. They're weirded out by the fact that we genuinely like a show with target audience much younger than ourselves. Not all furries identify with the kind of furries that the general public feels, so they feel that they're normal enough to be able to criticize the brony/pegasister community with free reign.

This guy. He knows what the buck he is talking about. We are not jealous. To tell the truth, we don't hate bronies. We're almost like you, but we are much more blamed, just 'cause a few members of the fandom did wrong things IRL.
LisKira 6 August 26, 2012 Share August 26, 2012 my brother is a furry and he doesn't hate bronies but he did say that he hates how we sometimes make a big deal about being bronies when we get criticism from the media. then he went on a rant about how furries get the same and even worse criticism, something along that line it was a while ago, i can't speak for any of them but i have never seen or heard that they hate us. Guest August 26, 2012 Share August 26, 2012 (edited) Every fandom gets hate, just because some comes from another fandom doesn't mean anything crazy. I'm a furry, for the most part, from what I see when hanging out with furries, is most of them don't care either way about bronies. K3WRO 79 August 26, 2012 Share August 26, 2012 It's because, most furries seem to try to hate everything that goes against them, really, or it's just the Rriendship is Magic fanart that are flooding FA
JhonHipster 124 August 26, 2012 Share August 26, 2012 To be honest I think that bronies hate furrys more then furrys hate bronys. I base this on the fact that most bronys hate R34, and the furry community is most known for its porn. I have seen many furrys receive hate from bronys at various places, funnyjunk, TF2, ROTMG etc. It only makes scence that all furrys would hate bronys back.
Nouth 495 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 The only reason why specifically furries could feel hate to bronies for that I can think of is that some people out of both fandoms could consider a furry a bronie by mistake. I could see that could annoy some poeple. Otherwise, I think the reasons for hate towards the brony fandom are pretty much the same as the usual - It's childlish etc. arguments. SpikeyWikey07 58 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 As a scaley, part of the furry fandom, I think this is rather ridiculous... Annoying and everywhere... Whoever thought of that really never realized that furries are identically the same as bronies. Yes, I know there are differences. I've met a few furries who were annoying, and when they saw my pin of spike... they complained about it. I said that it doesn't really matter, Spike is a dragon, hence I like dragons and I'm a scaley. Some people just need to let small situations, such as this, evacuate their mind and continue on with their own liking. If they don't enjoy something, then avoid it. Who is forcing 'you' to join or hate a fandom? No one! That choice is yours, and yours only to decide for yourself. Basically, it's opinions taken too far.
Jeremytheunicorn 1 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 I am very much a open minded free spirited person. I respect other people's rights and opinions about free expression. Personally if you ask me judgement is over rated and I find the over blown ego very humorous. This is my opinion.
KakeiTheWolf 652 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 It's likely either due to a perceived inferiority complex, in which furries believe they can make themselves stronger by taking down something superior, or a perceived superiority complex, in which furries believe they are kept stronger by belittling the inferior. I never got why either group hates each other. Both are similar (If bronies existed during G2, I'd say they basically were identical), both have merits and flaws, and both don't need to be at each others' throats (As both already get enough hate from pretty much everyone else). But both bronies and furries are human beings, so they naturally fall victim to an occasional taste of the vice of wrath. And besides, the farther back you go in MLP history, the more furry everything gets.
OkBuddy 585 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 In basic form, it's someone who likes anthropomorphic animals. There is much more to being a furry than just simply liking anthropomorphic animals. Most people become a furry when they think that they are part animal. It comes from the heart.
Speedy Transition 788 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 The Furries might be jelly of our community, but the Furry fandom is so malicious and had such a bad rep, Bronies dont want anything to do with them. Hence the back and fourth hate.

People who genuinely believe that they are not 100% human are called Otherkin. I identify as a furry because I regularly interact with others via an anthropomorphic persona. I know that IRL, I'm a human.

Why are you guys arguing about what it means to be a Furry? 'Furry' means something different to everybody. That's why some people dislike Furries actually...... brian577 120 August 27, 2012 Share August 27, 2012 All the hate on furries really makes me sad sometimes... So many lies, rumors and bullshit just because of a handful of people... I blame it on the fact that they make no effort to police their fandom. From what I've seen Bronies spend a lot of time running damage control on "unsavory aspects" of the fandom (no offense to anyone who is a clopper). A good public image never hurts.
