The irony about talking about R34 for furries is that there's ultimately far more of every other kind of porn than there ever will be furry porn. I probably shouldn't admit that I know this but when one is accused of being a zoophile you do research on a lot of things. (Note: Zoophilia and being a furry and even being into furry porn are not the same thing.)

I don't do porn myself though. Furry or otherwise. Not my thing.

I have a deep respect for

any Fur who hand crafts their

own fur-suits and some of the

cleaner and tasteful art is a mind

blower on crack on the talent

this sub-culture has and shows!

I was once a furry but took

a choice to leave the culture

and I don't think I will be

going back....

/minus a few web comics i keep a eye on.../

I have met only few peoples that belongs to FurryFandom and in my experience: they have been very nice people. I am no very sure... But are furries pretty much like bronies with one thing: both are pretty much HELPING peoples than hate?

If you ask my opinion: I like furries as well as bronies, even though I am neither one of them. ^^

I don't have a lot of personal history with them myself, but the stories I've heard about the public behavior of some furries is.. not good.

Aww... Well: I haven't seen furries in public myself... But i have heard from some furries themselves: that they are nice to other people.

I don't know. I've only ever heard bad things about furries.

Awww... Okies then :c I were once a furry friend. He was very friendly to me.

To this day I still find the idea of an entire fandom being built around a love for anthro animals is really weird and kind of disturbing. Whatever floats their boat and all, but it definitely doesn't float mine. I'm sure they're nice people, but I don't really get it.

I suppose they are someways refering to protect animals and I understand if you don't like them ^^ I like anthro animals, they are someways cute and someways.... Sexy >/////< lol...

I am not sure either what is the fandom about... But I don't see problem with that either ^^ peoples are peoples :3

PS: the thought you say and/or feel towards FurryFandom peoples, are most likely same as how some peoples might feel towards bronies: they do not get it either, what is it about, liking little ponies from cartoon show.

Well, my first exposure to Furries was rather unfortunate.... at about age 12 I watched an episode of CSI (back when it only took place in Las Vegas) which featured a "Furry Convention". You can probably imagine the only part of the fandom that was presented to me, and the very narrow perception I was given as a result ( Lesson here: all TV Networks are equally as crappy, just depends on what their respective execs will get more ratings  :okiedokielokie:  ). It wasn't until a couple years ago while watching a program that I got a more balanced view of the fandom along the lines of, "Wait, so Furries get in costumes for funsies/ goofing around and not so they can just.... do certain things that can't be shown on TV?"

It wasn't till I started watching some vids by Brony Analysts explaining the connection between Bronies and Furries, that I actually was given a good understanding of what a Furry is. To paraphrase Antony C, "A Furry is someone who likes Bugs Bunny cartoons and up." Honestly, I asked myself the question whether that means I'm a Furry, I'm not as I don't identify with the fandom much. So I'm not a furry by a technicality :derp: . Although, your still more likely to see me at a Furry convention than a Star Trek convention, guess I personally prefer guy dressed in full animal costume than guy dressed as a Klingon :P .

Just as a bit of info, the Brony Dr. Wolf has a two part series where he talks to his brother ( a furry ), where they discuss the Brony/ Furry connection:

...yet you're on a Brony forum? ^^ (Kidding!)

I only have a friend who's kind of a furry, I'm not completely sure. I'm apart of the Star Fox fandom and on a forum most people are furries, seem like average people to me, just like us Bronies! We all just have something we like. ^^

Though you mentioned bronies in your OP, the title and general flow of responses here are more about just giving your thoughts on furries :3 Moved to General Discussion.

Well, they got a huge image problem. Specifically that the more extreme parts of the fandom pretty much form the community's image in the mind of outsiders. Same thing with us, Trekkies, pretty much any fandom you care to name: People are more likely to remember the one overweight guy with poor personal hygiene and zero social skills than the ten average people standing around him.

Personally, I don't get the attraction  (anthros kinda freak me out), but it's no skin off my arse.

Furries and bronies are not the same thing, there I said it.

Those 'extreme' parts of the fandom make up more than 3/4s of their community. I recently left it and I don't regret it for a single moment, I still have a little scaly in me since dragons first pulled me into the fandom.

I bet there's quite an overlap though.

Oh yes, it is! There's no denying that. A large portion of the anthro pony art comes from people from the furry fandom as well as they are responsible for posting pony images on sites like Furaffinity.

Unfortunately, brony hate is extremely common in the furry fandom.

They're no worse than some Bronies. Every fandom has a dark side which taints public opinion regarding the rest of them. For that reason, Bronies hating on Furries is almost laughably hypocritical.

I was part of the Furry fandom for years, the whole way through high school. It inspired me to draw, to write, it had an enormous impact on my creative development and I have nothing but fond memories. I'm truly indebted to the fandom, to be honest. I wouldn't be the artist I am today if it wasn't for the encouragement of friends and other Furries. I'm not part of the fandom anymore, but it still has my love and support.

Sure, parts of it are creepy. Other parts are kinda toxic. But I never had to deal with those parts because I simply avoided them, and kept to the light, fluffy stuff. But the same can be said about the Brony fandom. There's a lot of places on the internet which are nowhere near as nice as this. One of the reasons I love this forum so much is because the culture here is so wonderful. (This is honestly one of the loveliest forums I've ever had the pleasure of participating in. And I've only been here for a week!)

No real surprise there; there are always people who feel the need to pick on others to make themselves feel better.

Quoted for Truth and Great Justice. Also, welcome to the forum, we can always use more artists :) .

I don't have enough time to explain how little fu*ks are given about what you enjoy...

Anyways, if you're not a brony/pegasister why are you here?

Note: Not asking in a mean way, just kinda curios.

Well said.

I have absolutely no problem with furry fandom.  I don't really consider myself a part of that community, but I've always found the anthropomorphic animals appealing.  I mean, that's what the Khajit in Elder Scrolls are, right?  I love Khajit.  I'm a Khajit in Skyrim.  Anyway, my policy on all things has always been that if you're not hurting anyone else, then it's fine by me.

I'm a furry, but I'm not really in the fandom, but I do know they get a lot of bad press.

Which really doesn't make sense (if the hate comes from the brony fandom) for we ask for tolerance, and acceptance but can't except a clopper or a furry? wut?
