Well, to be honest, all the furries I've met face to face were into furry rule 34... Most of them hit on me too, all guys. e.e;

 

Nothing against furries, it's just they left a horrid taste in my mouth that's going to take more than toothpaste to get out.

The way I see it, cloppers and furries go hand in hand. The only difference is that furries mostly deal with anthropomorphic erotica. And honestly I dont really care if I offend cloppers I will voice my opinion because it is my right to voice it.

I've always thought furries were cool, I even considered joining the community (which I didn't), its just that the average person thinks they have sexual desires with animals (a clearly outdated and stupid stereotype), or they think they're "freaks", rejects of society, etc.

Well now that I have some insight, I can actually answer the threads question. The reason why people hate furries is because those who hate furries think like I used to think. I used to think all furies were sexual deviants who touch themselves to pictures of anthro. But I was wrong and so are the others. There needs to be something that can inform people about what furries really believe in. I mean 5 minuets ago I didnt know that Spice and Wolf was a furry anime. I love that anime.

Well I promise as a furry I will not compare the furry fandom to bronyhood. I must say I have yet to here a furry compare themselves to a brony...total difference

I've seen it happen many times. For example, one time there were both bronies and "furries" on the same chat site, and the furries were getting hated on by some random haters. The "furries" responded by acting like bronies were very similar to them, so they wouldn't be so isolated. As a result of scenarios like this one, many ignorant people tend to mistakenly categorize bronies and "furries" together.

My stance on furries is like that on any fandom out there: Like what you want; I ain't gonna judge ya for having interests outside the norm. It's what makes people people. Just don't make interest in question the only aspect to your personality and don't act in an "in-your-facey" manner about it.

I don't hate anyone for what they like. And you may say, that's impossible, but I'M not going to go around and sayI hate something for what's in it. I don't consider myself a furry, but I love all the artwork out there. But am I goign to shove it in your faces that I like somethin, no, I'm not. Well they still bother me. I've met so many of them in my lifetime and the're all weird people. As a result, the bulk of the fandom consists of creeps! I don't want to sound mean, i'm sure the're are many furries who are normal. I have just dealt with so many bad ones that i'm sick of them.

Well, I couldn't say I was a mainstream furry but I was part of a group of furries known as " Poke'fur's " (Yes, there are such people) which, you probably know, are furries that see themselves as, well, Pokemon. Years ago when I was younger it was what I was and there was quite a large community of them.

 

But I've been kinda unmotivated lately and my participation in roleplays and stuff went down as years past, so now I just like the art and the furries, that's pretty much it really. I'm still evolving I guess. (no pun intended)

From what I can see, a lot of folks feel furries are always perverted, in some cases this is true, but not all. I however find it a little disturbing when I see adult rated mlp anything, especially when they decided to throw their own furry characters into it, and a variety of other kinks that would make no sense in the mlp universe. But, as said, not all furries are like that.

Well if that's what you want to do, then I'm not gonna judge you for doing it. I just absolutely *strongly dislike* the ones that get in my face about it. But my opinion remains the same. I don't like furri-ism.

Being that I used to be a furry (but I'm not anymore) I can say that most people think that they think about sex with animals nonstop. For example my best friend and I were talking and he asked if I was a furry. I said yes, and then he told me I was a sick bastard that loves to have sex with animals. I told him I wasn't and the thing escalated from there. So as you see the minority gave the fandom a bad name.
