Sunset heard Winter Chill leave, and the sobs she had been holding in leaked out. They were quiet, but they still caused tremors. "Great... Now he hates me... First day here and I've already made my roommate hate me so much he can't stand to be in th same room as me..." She whimpered. She noticed her book and threw it to the floor. She didn't want a distraction. To her, she didn't deserve it. Not after that. She curled into a ball and continud sobbing.after a few minutes, her eyes started to droop. She cried herself to sleep.

She wasn't awake to hear Winter Chill return, but her dreams replayed the past hour and she mumbled in her sleep.

"I'm sorry... I'm so, so, sorry..."

He heard crying, from somewhere. He checked everywhere and at last he checked under the bed and there she was sleeping and crying. He carried her onto the bed a tucked her in with a blanket. After that, he then went back to the kitchen and washed the dishes and went to take a nap afterwards.

Not having a single clue why the stallion was looking at her like that, she slowly approached him, one hoof at a time, until she was right in front of him and asked "Is there something wrong?"

Thunder only gets more flustered as the mare approaches him. 'Way to embarrass yourself on the first day Thunder' he thought to himself. It didn't help that this mare wasn't half bad looking.

 

Thunders face only turned a brighter shade of red when she asked what was wrong. 'Pull yourself together Thunder! Don't make this worse!'. He snaps himself out of it.

 

"S...Something wrong? No... I mean, sort of. Heh, you see, I think I might have accidentally walked into the wrong room. I'm so sorry miss." 

 

He walked over to the door and checked the number.

 

"Hmm, it says here this is room 117, and this is building 3... There must have been some sort of mistake."

Azura giggled, moving closer towards him "Maybe there's no mistake." she said, walking past him and tossing down her bags on her side of the bed and said "Is there something wrong? Did you expect a stallion?"

Thunder got a little flustered. 'Smooth Thunder, way to make a stellar first impression.'

 

He cleared his throat.

 

"Anyways awkward impressions out of the way... I'm Thunder Cloud."

 

He offered his hoof for a hoof shake.

Sunset woke up with a start. Eyes bleary from crying, she rubbed them with her hooves and then looked around. She was on her bed now, instead of under it. Winter Chill was snoozing in his bunk.

She quietly took off her blanket, and walked to the table. There was a small window by it, and she stared at the clouds beyond the glass. She ruffled her wings as she looked at the open sky, thinking of home. She remembered the yard her adoptee parents had had, how she'd learned to fly there. A small, tired, weak smile crept onto her face as she reminisced.

He walked right beside her as she blindly stares at the sky. "Missing your love ones huh?" He made a guess if she did miss them. "And I'm sorry I didn't really answer your question earlier..."

Mordecai awoke the next morning with droll all over his face and bed. He saw the mare asleep with a book on her face. The sight made him a little disgusted, as he hated bookworms. He then heard some ponies outside making noise which annoyed Mordecai greatly.

"OI! My roommate is trying to sleep! shut up or im coming out there and bucking your teeth in!" He yelled hoping not to disturb Snowdream.

"Thanks for waking me up roomie!" She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes she made her bed and put the book back in her bag, hoping he didn't get the impression she was a nerd from her reading.

Mordecai wasn't sure who to be mad at. The loud ponies outside or himself for actually caring about the mare.

"So, what book was that you were reading?" He asked as he plopped back down on his bed. He didn't have the desire to make the bed or even clean himself up for the day.

Her ears fell and her head drooped, but she refused to give in and run away again.

"Well since we are roommates there is no point hiding any little secrets we have. I mean we have to trust each other since we are roommates for a whole year in this university. My family... Well, I didn't really have a ... Family..." He looks away from the window as soon as he said that. "I wish I met my parents when I was born..." He sighed.

Or I can just cook us up a meal again." He asked the mare, waiting for an answer.

Mordecai struggled to get the words out. It wasn't that he found it hard to converse with the mare. It was the fact that he didnt want to over do it with his maliciousness.

"Appaloosa sounds like a nice place, i'd love to go there one day, I've never been before. Is the heat really that bad?" Snowdream asked,

 

Well at least he has given me something now, hopefully the conversation gets better the more we talk!  She thought hopefully.
