Oh hey look another music thread. Anyways it's exactly what it sounds like. All types of rock are welcome, just don't be that guy that posts crap...cough..cough..creed..cough..cough.

Ah, this genre. I really like some of this music. It's nice   I'm a big fan of the Goo Goo Dolls. They have so many good tracks. It's a toughie to choose a favorite, but in the end I gotta go with

Does that mean I'm aloud to spam this thread with Opeth. Well it's too late for that too because I'm going to post some Opeth.

 

Opeth puzzles me, I like it and hate it at the same time. Musically it's pretty good, but the growling completely turns me off. But yeah, metal falls under rock so it is welcome.

Good point, but you need to remember that growls are the most alienating aspect of extreme music in general, and what drives many people away from metal. I was able to get used to them by reading the lyrics along with the growls and came to the realization that they're easy to decipher after a while.

 

Mikael Akerfeldt has one of my favorite growls of all time though.

Why the buck would you make a 90's/00's rock thread when there is already a rock thread that encompasses all decades. That would be like if I made a 90's/00's metal thread when there's already a freakin' metal thread for all decades!!!

Because if you were to post a song or artist from a specific decade in for example the rock thread, there is a chance that people will ignore it and move on to other decades. Creating one of these threads however, means that only one decade will be focused and their will be a lot more songs and artist from that decade, thus creating an active discussion
