What's Your Typing Speed?

Zero000

49 WPM, counting the six errors I got, but that's on a Qwerty. Dvorak and Colemak are a different story: They'd probably be worse, because I haven't taught myself either of those sufficiently yet...

The fact that I'm running on just one Shift key dosen't help, either...

Wait,... Over 9000?!! How...? :o

80 wpm, 4 errors. I usually type about the speed I think, and having to take time to read it and re-read it is annoying. Plus I typically type so fast I make a dozen errors a second and have to fix them, so this score was kind of odd for me.

I am just not understanding the difference between a game and a topic. :(

Basically, you linked something, and people had to post their results on it. I presume stuff like that is gamelike because it is sort of like quizzes and is relatively trivial.

Anyways, my typing speed is... 86 WPM. I only made one error. Yeah, I've always know I was a pretty good and accurate typer. It's what you get from spending so much time on the internet. :P

Although like Shank, I go faster when I'm just thinking stuff up off the top of my head rather than just copying it.

Well, not to brag.. But I got 9999

Sometimes I love myself for learning visual basic scripts.

Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
set shell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
shell.Open "http://www.typingtest.com/"
WScript.Sleep 2000
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "Th"
WScript.Sleep 5
WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}"
WScript.Sleep 10
WshShell.SendKeys "{ENTER}"
WScript.Sleep 5000
WshShell.SendKeys "TEXT GOES HERE"

Alright so my result without cheating was 81 wpm :)

If I could type a whole one-page thing on my own to test my typing ability, I'd do better. Being instructed on what to type by a monitor, 73 WPM with no errors. Typing by my free will, 98 WPM with no errors, and believe it or not, 104 WPM using the backspace key for when I screw up, as I can tell whenever a finger lands in the wrong place. Timed myself on how much I could type within a one minute time span, and I typed 98 words in total.

Kind of touch typing. I'm using all my fingers, but I can't call it touch typing as I don't follow the basic "format" for it. My hands just fly around instinctively on my keyboard. Dunno.
