What happened to the "Banished" rank?

I just recently discovered the "Banished" badge, only to find it is no longer in use. Can someone please explain to me what happened?

I'm guessing to help save space, those users have been deleted entirely?  Otherwise I have no idea.

To expand and correct this a little more, the banished badge was removed because as Crispy said, it took up a little unnecessary space. 

 

The users aren't deleted entirely though, if you search them up in the members area you'll still find them. They just don't have a profile anymore. (You won't be able to click their username.)
