While I enjoy all sorts of music

(Im mainly one who bases it off the song rather than the genre)

 

My absolute favorite genre is Classical Music.

 

I absolutely love it, especially the emotions it can convey without words.

Nothing better than relaxing by the fire while it rains with some good classical music playing.

 

Not to mention it can make some of the most simple things seem badass and important.

Throw it on while washing the dishes and you'll feel like those dishes reflect life itself.

Let's see...classical (solo piano is my favorite), heavy metal, classic rock (technically a radio format and not a genre, but you know what I mean. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc.), electronic/dance (dubstep, trance, house), power metal (I don't know too many bands yet, I just recently started liking it), and screamo/post-hardcore (inb4 not troo metulz).

I really am not into music. I was the kid that never got an mp3 player, but rather than forming a garage band, 'borrowing' my friends mp3 player, or even listening to music on the internet; I decided music wasn't too important, and abandoned it from my life.

 

It's not as if I "don't like" certain types of music. It's just "I have bad taste" in music, because I have no idea what is "good" and what is "bad" (or what people consider good, or bad), I mostly just love & tolerate it all.

 

I'm exactly like you. Although, I must say that I do dislike metal and them people screaming and stuff. It's just... ugh... >,>

If your talking proffesional, I listen to classic rock. If your talking pony, EVERYTHING. Rock, Screamo, Rap, Dubstep, Drum 'n Bass, Eurobeat, Classical, etc etc etc. I have about 250 pony songs on my ipod (I blame a lot of that on Balloon, Cowbell, AND After Party).

I like to keep a very open mind on Music, but the genres I mostly listen to are Metal (all sub-genres of it), Hard Rock, Punk, Alternative and then there's the others I don't listen to that often like Rap, Pop etc.

everything. just basically everything, focusing mostly heavily on the various electronic genres, which are too many to list here, so i'll just be slow and say the main-bulk genres:

 

house (most of it will do to me),

trance (ESPECIALLY psytrance it's the best),

breakbeat (hip-hop would be the favorite from that bulk),

hardcore (mucho gusta, especially speedcore, breakcore, mashcore, gabber, industrial hardcore... yeah i love this one a lot),

jungle (rastafarians have the best singing accent ever in the whole wide world. from this genre, dancehall, jungle, and drum 'n bass (yes, it's a subgenre of jungle music) are prolly my favorites),

and downtempo (don't know much about it but what i know of it is good stuff).

 

i also like all the other stuff, like rock, metal, classical, pop, and whatever else there is that you could call music.

I listen to so much music that it's difficult to really rank the genres. However, my favorite genre is really quite simple to pinpoint.

 

Jazz.

Big band, swing, dixieland, ballad, latin, smooth, EVERYTHING! I love it all. Jazz is a superior art form in my opinion.

 

That being said, I listen to all sorts of other genres. I love metal, especially folk metal. All types of classic rock are wonderful (The Beatles are my favorite band of all time). I've really gotten in to electronic. A good piece of classical stirs emotion better than anything I know. I really love all things Indie. I dig me some Reggae. Show tunes make for some damn fine music. There is a lot of good rap out there, you just have to find it. There is some country that I like. I just LOVE bluegrass (O Brother Where Art Thou is my favorite movie). I could go on all day.

 

But above all, Jazz reigns supreme.

 

Hiphop/Rap, Electronic, Ambient, and sometimes Jazz when I'm in the mood.
