You should go look for what different genres there are and then make a bigger list of options. 2. You should let us pick more than one. I understand that I missed some major genres like country and -billy but believe it or not many music gernes are not as popular as you think. However I am updating the list with every suggestion I get so don't worry your pretty little head spikey-wikey Please also be aware that If I were to add everysingle genre, even with grouping, the list would be too big to actually get an opinion from. I've grown up listening to the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Bon Jovi, Electric Light Orchestra, The Doobie Brothers, etc. This genre is great as a whole because they use real instruments and real talent, unlike rock music today. And I am feeling slightly retarded for missing those genres, hopefully it won't be that big of a problem. That does not make any sense. If people want to vote dubstep for their favorite genre, then let them do so. Isn't that the point of the poll? To see what is the favorite genre of the people of the forums? If it's dubstep well fine. Sounds to me like you don't like dubstep and that by purposely not adding it to the poll you want to create a false impression that other people dislike it too. I personally don't like dubstep and would not have voted for it if it was in the poll. But I like polls to be representative and to give a good idea of the truth. Also, "emo" would probably fit in "rock" or "punk" (which could probably also be blended in one category if you wanted to be really broad) You are also missing a bunch of pretty important genres such as blues, country, reggae, ska, folk, etc. Anyway, enough with my rant. My personal favorite genres are progressive and psychedelic rock. I also listen to alot of Classic Rock (most modern rock bands suck ass in my opinion, they got no personality) with the occasional blues and jazz fusion. I understand that this is a different era of the music we listen to, but I don't understand why the bronies like this kind of music? So, go ahead, what's your favorite music gerne MLPForums? (Please forgive me if I forgot anything). *Edit: I've updated the list again, hopefully I've hit the major groups. The way you labeled the genres is kind of weird. For example in Punk you should of put "Punk (hardcore, traditional, post-punk,horror, etc.)" For Emo , emo actually evolved from the roots of hardcore punk (Listen to Fugazi) so that would go with punk. Now metal you should've included subgenres such as Thrash, Black and Death.
