What is Your Favorite Music Genre?

I actually listen to the most music genres. I don't really have a favorite one either. I just like different songs from different genres. Whatever I think sounds great is great, I don't care much about what genre it is. I don't like metal though.

 

I like most of all computer-made type of songs such house, techno trance etc. And I like country a lot too. And um pop and ehhh I like way too much things

My favorite genre is Electronic, to be more specific, the sub genre Drum and Bass (it's on my profile), but i'm also open to most types of music. I'll listen to R&B, rock, and Hip & Hop at times, but majority of the time I Iisten to some relaxing Electronic music.

My favorite style is the progressive rock. But I didn't vote rock because it's not really the same thing.

 

I listen to Genesis, Saga, Camel, Gentle Giant, Rush, Focus, Marillion, etc.

 

I always try to discover new groups. The prog is really versatile, you will always find an unique for each groups. (It's awesome)

I actually have a tie.  There are two genres that are equally awesome to me.  Both are cool enough to be my favorite.  One is Dubstep.  Dubstep is a beautiful yet aggressive perfection of the technological arts.  In this genre I like four artists more than the others. Skrillex, Knife Party, Quba, and Klaypex.  These guys are very good at what they do, and what they do is make musical art.  Below are my favorite songs by each of these artists.  Enjoy.

Screamo

 

Like most of the genres I like Screamo is misunderstood as people with no futures, crying about their horrible lives, and making the people that listen to them depressed.  That could not be further from the truth. Screamo is real people, with real experiences, bleeding their souls and all their pain into the hearts of millions.  Like Dubstep it is a work of art, and I feel that it needs to be shared with as many people as possible.  Also like Dubstep, Screamo has a few artists that hold a special place in my heart.  Asking Alexandria, Set It Off, Motionless In White, and Bring Me The Horizon.  They are geniuses of this musical era, and like the Dubstep artists, I will place my favorite songs by these guys below.  Again, enjoy.

My favourite genre is definitely indie pop, which can sometimes end up sounding like a garbled mess of ambience and screeching noises and whiny singers. I dig every second of it. It fills up my hippie festival music quota. (＾▽＾)

How are AA, SIO, MIW and BMTH screamo? Just because you scream, doesn't make it screamo, it's an extremely misused term. Metalcore/Scenecore would be a more fitting term

I like a lot of genres..... I love Hip Hop and Rap. And am a huge EMIN3M fan, he raps about the sad things that have happened in his life. Lose Yourself is one of my favorite of his songs, he won an Oscar for it and couldn't attend the ceremony....he was at home, watching cartoons with his daughter. :') I also love Rock, Imagine Dragons is one of my favorite bands!!!! If you've heard of it, Tame Impala is also really good, the lead singer kinda sounds like John Lenon. B-) Metal is also one of my favs. I love Megadeth, Countdown to Extinction is probably my favorite album, though, I personally thought that the new Super Collider album had some pretty BADASS songs. B-P Now, from time to time I also like to listen to songs from the show, like "Smile", and "This Day Aria".(I know all the lyrics to both*sqeeee.) I'm not a big fan of dubstep, but I like ToDJ PON-3 songs.

ahh, so much good music and so many genres to choose from, the list just goes on and on, i honestly could not pick a favorite, from country music like Alan Jackson (just saw him in concert!) and Hank Williams, to the Progressive rock like King Crimson and YES, even ALL TEH SUBGENRES! of metal, like folk metal and black metal..... and swedish black metal and thrash metal and british metal... new american metal and progressive metal, im sure there is many others i also have a secret fondness for disco especially italo-disco....

Anything Electronic, and I do mean anything; whether it be the more popular ones like Progressive House and DnB, or even some of the more discreet ones like Trap and Neuro.

 

My personal favourites are Drumstep (Half-step DnB with Dubstep influences) and Electro, although I've definitely been craving Neuro lately. Love how different it is and how insanely dark and eccentric it can be. Nu Disco is also a really sweet scene, and normal Disco can be a groovy choice, too (but I believe that Disco isn't counted as Electronic).

 

I do listen to some Rock, although not that often. Rap was a thing I liked when I was younger, although I grew out of it. And Metal is rare for me, but sometimes when I really want to just let it out, I'll blast that shiz LOL.

I love almost all genres of music in one way or another, but if I had to pick just one genre, I'd have to go with rock.

 

The main subgenres of rock I enjoy are classic rock (like The Beatles) and progressive/alternative rock (like Emerson Lake & Palmer and Pink Floyd).

 

The only genres I don't really like are heavy metal and what I would call "heavy electronica", like dubstep. I don't mind if other people like listening to it, as long as they don't yell at me for listening to my music. 

 

Other genres I like are jazz, classical, fusion, blues, video game music... like I said, I enjoy music from almost all genres.

Well time to bring this old thread back to life again.

 

When it comes to music, I'll love a kinds of genres. Ranging from Rock to Country, from Alternative to Electronica, from Swing to Dance  to Pop, and the list can go on and on.

 

Overall, if I had to choose a favorite, I'd probably go with Rock. 

 

Rock can be so energetic, motivating, empowering, relaxing, and can even take some of the anger out of you, depending on mood and aggressiveness of the song.

My friend despises Classical, which is a shame, but meh.

The only thing I don't listen to is Country, to be honest.

I dont get into the whole genre all types of music from what i listen to, I listen to rock in all it's forms from Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly to Heaven Shall Burn and InFlames and yes Manson falls in there as well
