The Elusive Cinder 1,328 July 19, 2013 Share July 19, 2013 As silver plunged into the pit, Cinder gasped. Redwave settled for thumping his head against a nearby tree. "You would last all of ten seconds at sea..." He muttered under his breath before turning to his remaining companions. "If one of you ladies would be so kind as to assist them, I can hold the vine from this side. If we take it one at a time, we can rescue them each in turn." He landed in the ditch with a crunch and a splatter of mud. Lyona groaned, facehooving hard. -This is all going to be much harder now... It's going to take some time to drag three grown ponies out of a ditch.- "If one of you ladies would be so kind as to assist them, I can hold the vine from this side. If we take it one at a time, we can rescue them each in turn." She gave a part of the rope to Redwave, and gripped her own part of the rope firmly. " Minty's already attached. Let's pull!" Glaring up at Redwave he retorted. "You wouldn't last ten second in the air... BUDDY!" he spat the last word out angrily. Silver flapped his wings, which hurt, but he was determined to anyway however he could get no lift. "Dang it why could I fly at first and not now?" Silver was getting angrier and angrier. "Just pull the damn rope" he yelled up at Redwave. "Can't you at least do one thing right!" Exasperated, Silver turned to Minty and said "Why'd you have to go and fall in here for? STOP running off all the time" He stuck his nose under Minty and roughly pushed her part way up the slope, hoping the others would drag her the rest of the way and get her out of his way! "What are you looking at" Silver snapped at Impetus. Then a thought occured to him. "Somethings not right here... I'm not like this! Where has my encouragement gifting gone? What has this potion done to me?" ((OOC so a little drama with Silver in reverse mode. Probably similar to what everypony else experienced when they went grey.)) Says YOU who can't even keep her own group of soldiers in one place!" Silver couldn't seem to stop himself despite knowing in his mind what was going on. He tried covering his mouth with his hoof but the words still seemed to spill out. "Damn it why can't i control this?" He thought. "I was better off poison joked... I don't like myself like this!" " C'mon, Redwave! You're an earth pony, you must be stronger than me. Pull!" "Earth head more like it. Can't fly, can't do magic... so ordinary! Who needs Earth ponies?" Red yelled back down to Silver before grasping the 'rope' and heaving backwards: it wasn't completely unlike raising a sail and he found the motion quite natural. I have no interest in being in the Royal Guard. Where is the profit in that? The pay is lousy and the uniforms aren't even that great. Who would want to serve under Shining Armor. He can't even get his love life right.? Forget you lot.. I'll find my own way out of this ditch. I'll show YOU whose incompetent. Silver scrambled at the bank trying to find a foot hold. He beat his wings but wasn't able to make much headway. "My wings won't be useless forever!" he reminded them with an angry tone. Maybe it's your FRIEND Zecora and her poisons... I knew I shouldn't have trusted a mare like YOU. You can't even mix up a simple potion with out it exploding in your in competent face" Ouch.. that one hurt Silver worst of all, yet he couldn't stop himself.How long would this last and would anypony understand after it had worn off. 'You see? Abandoned, just like I said. You don't need anypony else!' She shuddered. "What...?" The brown mare blinked, looking around. "What did you just...? You know what? Just stay down there, I don't need you. We don't need you. Just sit there in your precious little world of hate you spiteful foal!" Cinder released the rope, grabbing Redwave's cutlass as he slid forward slightly with the sudden increase in strain. "I don't have time for this. You two save these foals, I'm going to go do our jobs." "Thank the sisters, your okay!" He said heavily as he pulled her into a brief, slightly awkward hug before untangling the vine from her. The ditch must have been a lot deeper than he had anticipated because he was exhausted despite Minty not being particularly heavy at all. "Impetus, If I lower one of these down to you, can you use it to climb? We can lift you, but you're going to be heavier than Minty and it's a long way up..." Minty asked Impetus at the bottom of the ditch. She still stayed a bit far away, so she wouldn't fall in again. She stayed close to Redwave, though. "I.. I'm really sorry I left you at the hut." Then he wraps himself around the rope and begins inching his way slowly towards the top. "Thanks for the hand, Orangewave." he says, shaking himself off when he reaches the top. "What's gotten into you...?" "Maybe I finally came to my senses and realized what a bunch of losers you all are! Just get OUT of my ditch!" he snapped at Impetus, then watched as Impetus was pulled out by Redwave. "I'm staying here... the company and view in this ditch is far better than up there." With these final words as he slumped to the ground and spread his now useless wings on either side of himself refusing to look at any of the others. He felt dizzy and sick, his body still aching from the 'fall from grace' he seemed to have had. The scream of a young filly was heard from the south. It echoed through the tree's hauntingly.
