Worst and Best Reaction of Telling Someone You're a Brony

lighting flash

So I'm not the type to just blurt out to everyone I'm a brony. But when people find out, they give out good or bad reactions. What is your worst and best reaction of telling someone you're a brony?

Best (My Sister): "You're watching My Little Pony?"

me, "Yeah, it's good."

sister, "Cool, you should show it to me some time."

Worst (Stranger): I'm walking down the street with my Rainbow Dash shirt on and a lady shouts out from her car, "PEDOFILE." dry.png

The best was when my Mom found out when she saw this Applejack shirt hanging in my closet, my Mom is a bit of worry wort so her actually thinking it is adorable was not what I was expecting but is not entirely unwelcome. The worst though I really didn't think it was all that bad because I could care less what others think was this reaction from this one bus driver when he saw my Applejack shirt when I was on my way back home from seeing Equestria Girls. He didn't say anything but he had a huge WTF look on his face while I struggled not to bust out laughing.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Best Reaction: Friend of mine on my campus:
'What's that shirt you're wearing?'
'It's a My Little Pony shirt, it's a reference to an episode.'
(Fluttershy 'Yay' Shirt.)
'That's cool, I've heard about the show. Is it good?'
'Yes.'

'Hmph, I think I'll watch it some time.'

Worst Reaction: Ignorant person on my Campus:
'Do you watch My Little Pony?'
'Yes, what about it?'
'*Scoff*, pff, get a life, homo.'

The best? Umm, I guess it made me and a former friend of mine become friends again, because he had starting watching the show but he did not consider himself a Brony at the time. He seen my Futteryay shirt and I told him I was a Brony. I think that reignited the friendship. Oh joy, friendship really is magic and all that jazz. Still, it was neat.

The worst? I suppose it was a person on Xbox Live calling me an autistic man-child because of it. The irony here, is that I actually AM autistic and I am a child at heart, as my member title says. So, jokes on him. :P I have not really had any other negative responses beyond that. I am very open about being a Brony and I am happy with that, whether others like it or not. It seems many have no problems with it. :)

I would say if little girls as superheroes can be cool than why can't cartoon ponies? It surprises me now that I think about it that I was as skeptical about MLP as I was before I became a brony even though Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. I think I let the reputation of the previous generations cloud my judgment but I eventually did get past it.

My best reaction was my friend, I'm not one of them "look at my i'm a brony and heres why mlp is great and you should watch it" no I'm the you ask I'll tell ya but otherwuse i keep to myself, well my friend came into my room and he seen it, the blind bag ponies in my shot glasses and on the edge's of my TV, i need like 20 blind bags to fill my glasses, and my RD wallpaper on my computer. He said "wow mlp stuff, thats cool" Now the worse reaction happened at Hot Topic, now before i go into this i got a little bit of a anger issue i deal with this guy got lucky i have been able to control it, i was checking out the pony stuff and guy walks up to me and says "Mlp stuff is for girls, you're gay" which got me to ask him "Which eye would you like to see out of later?" He apologized slapped me up and left. I know love and tolerance but thats hard to do all the time

Ah crap, i can't really say I've gotten a really positive reaction about it yet, but then again i haven't told very many. My parents and siblings all pull jokes on me and sigh and get upset whenever i buy some mlp related merchandise. But yeah, i have gotten a worst reaction, which was from none other then the love of my life! sad.png

Him: "So what, you watch my little pony now? You're a brony? God I've lost you completely.."

Me: "Uhm it's just a fun cartoon, it's not a big deal. I mean we both watch Pokemon right?"

Him: "Sigh..."

Yeah...I've been trying to get him to like the show, but he just detests it for some reason..it does bother me a bit, especially since he gets all emo and angry whenever i mention it, but hey, that's a relationship for yah xP

Best: My friend and I were at the big senior after-prom party at the bowling alley, and a friend of a friend comes up. He sees my friend's AJ shirt and he's "Oh Yeah!", and I was like "Are you--" and he's like "yes", and I was like "Me too!" and we were all had a mass bro-hoofing which increased in intensity with each fist bump to the point where we were grunting like those monkeys at the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey and practically beating each other up and wigging the BUCK out.

Worst: "Queer" biggrin.png

Cam: "What the fuck how do you know about Fluttershy?"

Arka: "I watch it sometimes with my sister"

Cam:"DAYUM BR0"

Worst: Asshole: "Cam you watch a gay show about little ponies and unicorns prancing around"

Cam: "So what you play xbox all night being a dick online"

Asshole: "Dude. You. watch.ponies."

Cam: "Hey uh, John guess what?"

Cam grabs John by the neck so fast he doesn't see it coming, throws him down on a plastic table.

Cam: "So what were you saying, John?"

Asshole: "Uhm nothing I gotta go find some ice."

Cam: "I may be small and look weak, but just remember I can make sure your in a grave next time buddy."

Worst Response:

I told my friend it really was a great show. He responded by saying something about giving in and joining the dark side like my previous friend who was a brony (before the fandom even started) and that he was disappointed in me and told me to watch shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones which are more "manly".

Worse reaction: My girlfriend. "You are way too into this pony thing!" and is now making up excuses not to talk to me

Worst - My older cousin saw me watching the show and said that the ponies need to be shot. angry.png He watches Tosh.0, so I bet I know where he got his opinion from. sleep.png

I watch The Walking Dead and am a wrestling fan not because they are "manly" but because I like them and ponies. I seriously don't see why people should try to be "manly" or "girly" I am myself and that is the only person I want to be and I am for the most part masculine but do have a feminine side and am not ashamed of it.

This is my opinion when I say Spongebob has gotten worse and worse over the years and no episode could compare to Friendship is magic.

There is no such thing as manly or girly, it is all a matter of perspective. We view for some reason that firearms and gore is manly, while bright colors and good morals is feminine. It is how society believes things are, and it is un-comforting how sexist/divided society can be.

Best reaction: My parents and (most) of my friends being tacitly accepting.

Worst reaction: God, where do I start...

I hate to admit it, but there are moments when I do seriously question if it's worth it to carry on being a brony.
