Summary: This is a horror and survival setting that will have very little to do with the Canon of Equestria, except for the common knowledge which all ponies would know. Celestia raising the sun would be a good example. This roleplay starts in the vast farmlands of Equestria, in particular the fiefdom of Germaneigh. At the beginning, time will pass in a happy and laid back format. But as the story progresses, things will steadily start moving at a faster pace. Encounters between characters and npc's will turn from friendly chit-chat, to guarded suspicion, to out right violence. Because in this roleplay, you can only rely on yourself in a town that becomes smaller and more dangerous with each passing second.

 

Goals: It may seem silly, but I promise if you work towards these goals, the rp will only get better.

1. Survive.

2. Investigate the mystery.

3. Develop your character.

Rules: Very straightforward.

1. No god-mod/meta-gaming.

2. Must have legible/understandable posts.

3. OOC conversations should remain civil.

4. -Major- plot developments are to be brought to mods for approval.

5. Go wild. (With creativity.)

6. Keep posts within sight limitations. (Mandatory above all others.)

Character Name: Vesper

Backstory: Unlike most batponies, his species came from a genetic mutation. His father was a pegasus and his mother was an earth pony. His parents were embarrassed of his condition, which made him look scary to other ponies in Ponyville. When he was just old enough to go to school, he was bullied heavily by the other students, who mocked him for the difference. One bully even harassed him physically.He suffered so much that he ran away at a very young age. He avoided other ponies, and when he finally settled down, he never left his house during the day. As a result, he doesn't talk much, and when he does he cannot speak very well. Recently though, he has decided to try to give ponies another chance...

Personality: He is very untrustworthy of other ponies, and he responds to any sort of attack with great hostility and cruelty. He warms up to ponies who are kind to him very quickly, however. Most of the time he is quiet and reclusive. He has not been exposed to much technology or culture, though he has an innocent curiosity about it. He likes to sing, but is shy about showing others. He is a fairly capable pony because he's taken care of himself, alone, for most of his life.

Tell me the most zany horror concept you can come up with: Well, this depends on what you mean by zany. If we're talking just crazy and weird, I've written a story about a ghost high school janitor that kills a member of any sports team that loses. I've also been trying to incorporate an ice cream man getting killed with a spork into a story. If we're talking crazy as in really evil, well, I've always tried to top the things Dahmer did as a horror writer, and it's pretty difficult. He was one crazy lunatic. I've had characters be dissected alive before. That's pretty bad.

Tell me the most zany horror concept you can come up with: My character is based partly on Nyu/Lucy; as in, the shy character with the mindless killer that lurks within her mind. Imagine dead, mangled bodies turning up and the only pony seen nearby is the shy Jay. Nopony would ever suspect her...

 

I also read a lot of serial killer books. Trust me, there are some deranged loonies out there. One of the worst? Richard Chase. Not for body count but for sheer sickmindedness.

But anyways, I like the idea of being trapped in some form of ruins. Any ruins at all. These ruins would have a gate to a dimension unfamiliar to ponies (Or whatever race). Of course not knowing what these are, the ponies are terrified. Let's just say studying is involved. Which means dissection.

I Suppose there's one thing...I joined an RP a while ago and wrote this...

 

Scar yawned again and walked into the mess hall...which was empty ? Not a single pony was in sight. He looked around wondering where everpony went.

He walked into the kitchen for some food but almost vomited, the food was all rotten and covered in flies. He ran out back into the mess hall, which was now eerie and...dark.

He felt the feathers on the back of his neck stand on end as he slowly walked down the hallway back towards his room. Every step he took, the walls and ceiling would move towards him, they would also become dark and old until he was walking through a dark tunnel. He looked around at the tunnel around him. Not seeing any way out he turned around to go back the way he came only to find a dark figure standing a foot above him. Blood dripped from its eyes as It opened its mouth wide enough to eat a foul, it had rows of sharp white teeth and dived at Scar who screamed as everything around him went black and then... "AH." He jumped up and looked around, he was in his room, now fully awake... 

The dark crazy thing is my character Thing (Who I would be happy to add if you're looking for evil things to do evil evil stuff and stuff...)

Most zany horror concept I can think of: Wow...I am not good at these but here I go...

 

Imagine an alternate world where people cannot die. It doesn't sound terrifying, it sounds closer to perfect, but that's only on the outside. You know that feeling where you get so angry you just want to kill the person that made you that way? In this world, people act on those feelings. Most people are killed often, as there are no regulations on deaths and murder here. Imagine someone's first death. Say it was a stabbing. Imagine watching the knife plunge into your body, crimson red fluid pouring out of your body all the while. Finally, the blade hits your heart. Everything goes black. You feel ultimate peace for a few blessed seconds until you feel yourself regaining consciousness. As you awake, your killer looks you in the eyes and smiles. Everyone here knows they won't die, but would that lessen the fear? Would you be afraid if your head was being held under water, even though you know you will survive to tell the tale?

Is dying still nightmarish? Or is it just  as normal as drinking a glass of water?

Tell me the most zany horror concept you can come up with:  I have been kicking around an idea for a fungus that takes control of people's minds.  It is based on a real fungus that essentially turns ants into zombies.  With my concept, anyone who eats one of the mushrooms starts exhibiting odd behavior designed to spread the fungus around more.  They bury their own poop in the ground rather than using toilets.  New mushrooms grow where the ground has been "fertilized."  The infected people obsessively try to get others to eat the fully developed mushrooms.  If anyone attempts to destroy the undeveloped mushrooms, the infected people become homicidally violent.  Is that zany enough?
