I had 2nd pick and called out at the start I'll AD carry and everypony said sure, the guy that had Ezreal was last pick he didn't even say anything the entire champion select. Anyhow, now that Rengar is out I'd like to buy him. I need him since my jungling with Fiora has gone worse and I need an AD jungler. The thing is that people say that he's rubbish, under powered and a really bad pick for jungling. I played him on another account and got 12/5/12, but of course that account had only 300 wins and everyone went anywhere they wanted (enemy: rene + garen bot, mf mid and teemo + kata top.. lol). Plus, I watch a few live matches from time to time just to see how "the pros" play Rengar and I rarely see them getting positive scores with him. So, I don't know if he's worth buying. I would buy Lee or Shyvana, but I suck with them.

I want to buy Rengar, but everyone is saying he's weak. Can anyone confirm/deny that he's weak? And if he is, is there any alternative AD jungler that I could try out?

I prefer Rengar as a solo top. For AD junglers I suggest Hecarim, Volibear, Warwick or Nocturne. Warwick can't really gank before level 6 though. Nocturne can gank pre 6 but not as effectively compared to his post 6.

Well of course Noc can't gank as well pre-6 compared to his post-6, his ult is a freaking huge as hell dash onto an enemy champ. It's kinda difficult to beat that for a vast majority of champions . His pre-6 ganking, though, is actually surprisingly good. It's very annoying to escape a Nocturne with boots who is chasing you on his dusktrail and has his fear ticking down on you unless you burn like flash/ghost, and even then by doing that he has successfully ganked you.

 

Anyways, for another AD jungler you have many options, considering most junglers are either tank or AD, with Fiddlesticks and Diana being 2 of the only AP junglers. If you want to clear fast and murder a significant amount of junglers and laugh at CC, take Olaf. If you want to clear SUPER fast, counterjungle like a boss, and still have good dueling, take Shyvana. Trundle is also a good choice, seeing as how his ult counters tanks(it steals a % of their resistances and gives them to Trundle) and can duel surprisingly well. Finally, I suppose there is also Master Yi and Tryndamere if you REALLY want a Melee AD Carry jungler like Fiora, but I wouldn't recommend it as they are all not that good currently.

Rengar can't tank enough, can't deal enough damage, can't win his lane if the opponent is not retarded, needs to snowball to be effective. In short, he is trash and anyone who goes like "yeah but I got an op score with hime so you are wrong and I'm right!" are seriously starting to piss me off. I saw him in game, I saw him played by pros, he is the typical case of "everything I do, others does it 20 times better".

After facing a few Rengars already, I can say that he is indeed weak and squishy.

 

As soon as he dove into team fights, he would just be nuked by a few attacks and you could just brush off his.

Personally I like to get Warmog's on Rengar so I can actually do something in the team fight. His solo top power is quite strong though. Get 5 fury jump at enemy, auto, Fury Q, normal Q. Since Q resets your auto attack timer. Then follow with the E and W.

But yeah, Rengar needs to build tankier than most fighters to do well. It also doesn't help he requires a snowball item to play.

My initial thoughts on Rengar are..... he is very fun ..... but ultimately ineffective..... (There are just better picks for both top and for jungle).... But oh well.. He is fun as hell and thats enough for me to play him

My fav composition is Veigar mid, Volibear top, Mundo jungle and Shen support who plays full tank ( perhaps a locket early game for more lane sustain ) and an AD carry. Cait is viable, Vayne is perfect. As long as the carry has some hard cc, although corki can be okay as well.

So the new character Rengar is quite interesting.

At first my games were awful but when i finally got to understand him i've got to say, he is a lot of fun.

 

What i really like about him is that is truly is a predator. His ultimate makes him perfect for ganks and being able to take out the squishy carrys in the back. His E [slow] is sort of weak and it will only bind for 1 second which is also very weak compared to other binds and stuns. His Q works perfect with Trinity force and makes TF a must have item. Other then that i build very tanky since he is in the front lines. I prefer solo top but he works just fine in the jungle.

Let me clarify something to you.

Anyone in the league can jungle, All you need to know is how they work and how effective they are.

 

Karthus and Twitch are great junglers because of their ganking ability. But a lot of players don't think they are because they are to Squishy. But it works, and its effective.

Karthus jungle is an effective jungle because it has insane clearing speed, one of the fastest in the game, not because of his ganks. However, he is very heavily blue reliant and if it's stolen he's basically 100% completely and utterly screwed, ESPECIALLY for his first clear. Oh God, his first clear is pretty much almost impossible without blue. Also, his ganks rely on him hitting his W and then hitting basically all of his Q's while his laner beats up on the poor soul that got hit, and securing any runners with his ult. However, there are much better gankers than he is, who provide more CC while still providing enough damage to secure kills.

 

Twitch jungle *used* to be a god-tier ganker. Note the usage of the word "used". After Riot reworked his stealth, his ganks basically got a HELL of a lot worse, and this is coming from a guy who loved to run Twitch jungle because of his amazing ganks. 4 seconds is just not enough to sneak by regular wards and get in position for the gank without using it twice, while before when he had 10 seconds at level 1 that was just enough time to set up and start the gank. Although leveling up the stealth increases the duration, that means forgoing maxing Expunge first, and thus your ganks won't have as much oomph as they should. He also STILL sucks at clearing camps, and since there are still ALWAYS a better choice bot for an AD carry really Riot basically put Twitch into an even more unviable state imo because he can no longer do the niche thing of amazing ganks that he was able to do before.

@Whiteshade Warmogs, Last Whisperer, Trinity Force(Instead of Frozen Mallet depending), Force of Nature w/ the Warmogs helps. Atma's Impaler helps too. There's a lot of items. Experiment with different builds and a lot of it is situational.

GP has the advantage of actually having his build be fairly flexible, to be honest. It all depends on the situation, your teamcomp, your role in the comp, how your allies are doing, how fed you are, etc., but generally there's 3 main builds from what I remember:

 

-Tankplank: just build mostly tanky, really. Ninja Tabi/Merc Treads, Warmogs/Frozen Mallet, Atma's, Force of Nature, Randuin's/Frozen Heart, and a 6th item of your choice.

-Carryplank: build kinda like an AD carry to hit like a goddamn truck with your Q. Still either Ninja Tabi/Merc Treads, but you also grab Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, and Trinity Force for heavy Deeps. The last two items are generally things like Phantom Dancer + defensive item. Generally though Carryplank is the least common build you should be going since you'll probably be squishy as all hell and die rather quickly.

-Bankplank: this is more of just a phase for GP than a build. Build double/triple GP10's, and just farm like a madman with your Q. You'll be making a crazy amount of cash hopefully so that you can rapidly attain whatever build you're trying to get.
