Why do some people only listen to brony music?

I noticed a lot of people saying the only music they listen to is music made by bronies, or brony music. I don't understand people who only listen to "brony" music. What the hell did you listen to before you became a brony???? And why would you only listen to music made by bronies when there is so much other music out there you could also listen to??? Makes no sense to me.

i admit, bronies make good music. but it sure isn''t the only music i listen to. i have no answer to your question. i didn''t even know there where people that only listen to brony music.

if anything, i really think those people are missing out on everything the world of music has to offer.

It's very doubtful that they're telling the truth. They might have a crapload of Brony songs, but you'd be extremely hard-pressed to find anyone who would literally go to such an extreme. It's mostly those people making wild claims to try and affirm themselves as a hardcore Brony or something.

I feel it depends on what you enjoy.  I love brony music, but i still listen to everything else i used to. I usually have always preferred music that was related to something that I like whether it was a tribute song or a parody song or just a fan made song dedicated to something I enjoyed and that's why I personally ended up loving brony music so much. That and because i am a fan of electronic  music which most brony music seems to be also helps, plus a lot of these songs just seem to have good messages. Then again I’ve never met someone who “Only” listens to one type of music so I do understand your question. Variety is important sometimes people :P.

It seems like most Brony music is electronic, and I have never been a electronic fan. The only "brony" music I ever listen to is maybe metal covers of MLP songs, like This Day Aria, Becoming Popular, Smile Smile Smile, etc.

I mean I understand why people would enjoy brony music, but that doesn't mean they need to limit themselves to ONLY BRONY MUSIC.

to answer your questions, i primarily listen to brony music, that used to be all i listened to until i branched out and listened to stuff from lapfox trax, but i listen to a wide variety of genres in brony music ranging from rap to heavy metal, dubstep and jazz and everything in between, and as to what i listened to before then, nothing, i didnt listen to music, i didnt listen to any music until i became a brony, the first song i liked was Good Ol Days by The Living Tombstone, hes the whole reason i even listen to music, and that was in January of 2012,

I nearly never listen to musiy made by bronies, actually. I simply don't like most covers and remixes, even outside of the fandom's works. And most stuff is electro or dubstep things. Could never really understand many people's attraction to that, sorry. I'm more for rock, good pop, swing and classical music.

i just never cared for music, i just distanced my self from it, and as i got older and i actually heard mainstream songs, i didnt like them at all, i suppose at the time i was being too hard on the music

Well, I listen to quite a bit of brony music, because bronies are 20% better musicians, but there aren't that many out there, and so I often listen to non-brony music just as much, if not more.

I'd recommend trying out The Moon Rises or Lullaby for a Princess.

I'm sorry but that's impossible, if you walk into a store or turn on a radio you're not gonna be listening to brony music lol. :P

But seriously, brony music is good but it could never be all I listen to, I've never even heard anyone say that honestly, I'm not even sure how they could do it...

I see nothing wrong with it, I personally think that if some people want to limit themselves to music ONLY made by bronies, then they have every right to do so, to each their own. I myself absolutely LOVE listening to brony music over 'normal' music, but I still have plenty of songs in my list that aren't made by the fandom, or in any way related, I just don't listen to them as often. :)

I would just say it's what they like, they probably before hand might of liked dubstep and/or techno. Considering lots of Brony music is of that sort and they like ponies so they generally have everything they like in one.

I'm pretty sure that's just a phase that persons going through. I doubt for the rest of whoever said that's life there only listening to songs related to ponies. However there is a crap ton of it so I guess it's not totally impossible.

I do listen to a Hell of a lot of "Brony" music, but I also listen to a great deal of non-pony related music as well.

I guess some people only really listen to this kind of music because it's something that they can relate to? I'm just guessing here, but I find that a lot of people who do only listen to Brony music weren't really that into music before, and being able to relate to the subject matter of a song can play a big part in your enjoyment of it.

I actually mostly listen to brony music, but no, I do not ONLY listen to pony music. That's slightly impossible. Plus, while I favor brony music over a whole lot of the music that is out there, there are some really good songs and musicians that I like to listen to. Coldplay, Lenka, Carrie Underwood, Owl City, and Paramore, just to name a few. Though I do listen to brony music more often, I enjoy their music just as much. Brony music is just really well made, and it is hard to match that standard. Those bands have succeeded in matching it, which is why I like them so much.

So all in all, I just listen to the music that is made well, which happens to be mostly brony music. That's all.

I listen to A LOT of brony music. It's actually very easy because you can find brony music covering a lot of styles (at least the ones I like). I'm not big on remixes, but there are a lot of original songs, mostly instrumental.

Honestly, I don't believe that someone can listen ONLY to brony music. Specially because not all of it is high quality. But I can spend days listening to nothing more than brony music. Of course, that doesn't count with the music on videogames, or music that my neighbors are listening.

I listen to a lot of folk music, but since becoming a brony,  the majority of music I listen to nowadays has been brony music.  My folk music has taken a back seat unless I want to really relax, but even there, I have amazing instrumental brony music that is in my folk music playlists....

Brony music took a hold of my life since last summer, and not much has changed there (except now I have even MORE brony music)...ironically, I got into brony music before I got into FIM...

For me personally, I never really cared for music that much. Most of the songs are about love, which I can't relate to at all, and I really never got why people obsessed over bands and everything. Whenever I found a song that I liked, though, I would keep listening to it, until I got tired of it. I mostly listen to brony music, because I can relate to it more, and I just like more of the brony music than non-brony music. In general, though I don't listen to music that much. It hurts my ears alot, even when its on low volume and (most of the time) the lyrics repeat too much. I don't really see a problem with someone only listening to brony music, though. Its not hurting them or anyone else and if they don't want to listen to anything else, thats fine.

I've got a lot of Brony music that I listen to, but it's not all I listen to. But it is soothing to listen to; since it has a lot of remixes and peaceful music. It's similar to real music and gives me something to listen to.

I'm just as stumped as you are, Champ. Frankly, I think those who claim to listen exclusively to brony music are either lying, or if not, are definitely letting the whole "brony" title go to their heads, as if it defines who they are. I can understand if MLP is a big part of who you are, but to let it encompass your entire being to the point that you simply don't want to listen to anything that's not related to the show or fandom? That's kind of...WAT? lel.

Of course, I can't really judge too harshly. If I've got my right to blacklist certain genres as not being worth my time, then others certainly have the right to listen to a single type of music, exclusively. Sure, it closes a whole lot of musical doors for them, but in the end, to each his own.

It seems like most Brony music is electronic, and I have never been a electronic fan. The only "brony" music I ever listen to is maybe metal covers of MLP songs, like This Day Aria, Becoming Popular, Smile Smile Smile, etc.

That's another frustration I share. Again, got no problem with what other people like to listen to, I just find most forms of electronica boring…as I’m sure many folks here would be delighted to hear me reiterate for the thousandth time. Since a majority of brony music is electronic, that means I find a grand majority of brony music boring by default. No-brainer, right?

And yeah, it really is slim pickings for the brony metal scene. Much of what I've heard is either well-composed but poorly produced, or well-produced but unoriginal. Not that I claim the ability to contribute anything better, but my supreme laziness would prohibit me from such an endeavor anyway, so moot point. post-14546-0-63164600-1368411649.png

Overall, I'm just glad the brony music scene as a whole is a big enough deal to be something for many fans to bond over. It's a great thing, no matter how you look at it.
