Why do some people only listen to brony music?

There's next to no good heavy music I've heard made by bronies, though I don't actively search it out. I find most popular brony musicians to be awfully subpar compared to "real" artists out there and mainly focus on electronic music which doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'd much rather just stick to whatever else I listen to.

Grindcore: Extreme Metal mixed with Hardcore

Metalcore: Metal mixed with hardcore
Deathcore; Deathmetal mixed with hardcore

I Don't think anyone listens to *just* brony music.....I think they say that because that's all they've listened torecently

I do have quite a lot of brony music.most of it is original stuff. Like rock, classical, instrumental, metal. I'm not a huge fan of  the remixes/electronica/dubstep.. Most of them I rather dislike,I find it too boring.I like lyrics.

I'm always browsing Sound Cloud and You Tube to add to my ever growing library of Brony music. If I wanted to, I could actually fill one of my 2GB iPods with JUST brony music.

Can never have enough brony music!

For a while I only listened to brony music. It was really hard to explain to people when they asked the question, "What kind of music do you listen to?" And it was REALLY awkward when me parents looked at my Ipod... Although later I started to explore other genres, and now we're here.

I have a hard time believing that there are people that listen to only brony music.

If they are, they're really depriving themselves, because most brony music just isn't very good, even among the "god-tier" musicians in the fandom.

I do listen to brony music a lot myself, but I listen to music (of almost any genre) a lot in general. I don't really think anyone should listen to the same kind of music all the time, as you still need to have a bit of variety!

I like some brony music, but I don't listen to a whole lot of it. I liked some of the songs on the Balloon Party album, as well as some MLP song remixes on youtube. However, when I listen to MLP-related music, I usually listen to the actual songs from the show, or to background music extracted from the show.

For me, there's no such thing as listening to only one kind of music. I need variety. Yes, there are certain kinds of music that I listen to far more than anything else, but I still at least need a variation by listening to different bands.

Depending on my mood on a particular day, I might listen to a technical death metal song based on the philosophical work On Nature's Connection to the Spirit World by Friedrich Schelling. Or, I might listen to a melodic death metal song about an epic fantasy. Or, I might listen to background music from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And so on.

Generally, there are certain kinds of music that I like to listen to, based on musical and lyrical elements. I do not like music that is excessively violent, depressing, or otherwise morally offensive to me. I do not like music that is at all satanic, or grotesque in any shape or fashion. I prefer to listen to the kinds of death metal that, unlike what public perception of that genre probably is, are quite beautiful and lyrically intriguing.

Sometimes I feel like listening to heavier music, and other times I feel like listening to lighter music, and places in between.

All of the music I listen to, whether it be certain kinds of death metal, symphonic metal, or MLP music, falls within a general field of music that I like for various reasons. However, within that field, I do need variation. As such, I cannot listen to only one kind of music.

I've taken a break from listening to a lot of NEW non-brony music. I guess trying to chase after small indie bands that are hot one moment and cold a few months later gets a bit tiring. I have MORE than enough non-brony to listen to during my lifetime and I still listen to a bit of it when I'm with my wife and when i'm on the road. The biggest occupier of my time is actually listening to my own music and finding ways to fix my WIPS before i polish and release. I'm sure that's the same for most musicians. I actually wish i had more time to listen to other brony musicians like i did when i started out as that's a bit of a rarity these days.

I listen to a lot of music, I have about 35 gigs of music in my computer. But I just don't like brony music, most of it is just really mediocre and not in my taste.

I dunno, honestly i think maybe they're exaggerating, or maybe their going through a period of time where they enjoy alot of brony music.

But honestly I think while the brony's make awesome music, limiting yourself to just that is well, limiting, there is all kinds of awesome music out there to, so I personally don't limit myself to just brony music.

I guess its what you like though idk.

Some brony music is good, most of it is terrible. You'd have to tie me down and put a gun to my head before I would ever listen to crap like Aviators or The Living Tombstone. How some people can listen to this exclusively is... troubling. Don't get me wrong, I still greatly enjoy a bit of brony music from artists like Carbon Maestro or EileMonty, but they are the exception, not the rule.

Besides, I think I'd go mad if I had to go even a day without OneRepublic or Imagine Dragons. Lol.

I never knew there were people that listened only to brony music. I think they are most likely lying, but there might be those few that are actually being truthful about it. Some brony music is good, but it's not the only music I would listen to. I like to have variety when I listen to music. Some rock, orchestral, and maybe a few other genres mixed in as well to keep it fresh.

I noticed a lot of people saying the only music they listen to is music made by bronies, or brony music. I don't understand people who only listen to "brony" music. What the hell did you listen to before you became a brony???? And why would you only listen to music made by bronies when there is so much other music out there you could also listen to??? Makes no sense to me.

Looks like you're on a Balto kick with the avatars by the way. Fun stuff!

Anywhoozle, who are these bronies that you speak of? Which topic inspired yours?

I agree with you completely, but who and where are these examples?

Most of the time yeah that's all I got playing, because a lot of it is really good! a lot of it is from the show it's self not brony made but a lot of the brony made stuff is really good too! Now and then I play some other stuff a lot of rock, when my wife is home I have to play country music cause she loves it...

what ?!

Yes brony's do make excellent music my favorite  brony song atm is beyond her tomb by glaze mic the microphone and the living tombstone

but there is so much more out there than just music the fandom creates  it just makes no sense as to why you would listen to only brony music

I personally don't care if somebody only listens to music created by fellow Bronies, mostly because I don't see anything wrong with it, even though I find it kinda hard to believe that somebody would actually do so. I mean, there is a lot of great brony music out there, but as careful as I am towards listening same music repeatedly (I don't want to get tired of good songs), it just doesn't seem possible thing to do to me. But well, that's just me after all, so I'll give the possibility a chance. But even if it might seem odd to me, it doesn't mean I would judge somebody for listening to only brony music - simply because it's not that it would hurt anypony.  :)

A friend of mine once told me that she barely ever listened to music spontaneously, like, maybe just something to pass the time while driving a car for example. When she discovered brony music, it all seemed to change little by little. I don't know if she only listens to brony music these days, but at least she seems to like it - and that's the most important part, right? I don't really care if I don't understand it, as long as people are let to enjoy things they like and it doesn't hurt anybody. I, for my part, was bullied for my music taste for a long time, so I don't feel like having a right to bash anybody for their track list.

Mostly because they're probably happy to be a brony and listening to mostly music made by bronies reassures them of that fact. Perhaps it's their way to stay in the fandom haze, you know, that moment when you just joined a fandom and are happy about it for a few days or even weeks. Similar to the pink cloud effect.

As for myself, I do listen to some brony songs but to be honest... most brony songs are a bit repetitive. They're using the same formula all the time and it's getting boring. There are only a few brony songs I listen to like 100% No Feeble Cheering, Four Fall's Down, DIVERSE and Insomnia but that's because the songs in those albums actually have something special to them. Besides that I hardly listen to any brony music at all. There's just so much more interesting music out there than what bronies make. If they ever come close to songs like Atlas Novus, Phobon Nika, Voodoo Mon Amour, Mata Hari and Drone I'll reconsider checking brony musicians out again. I'm not saying they make bad music, it's just that it's music I hardly find interesting. Even the electronic songs aren't that great at all, it's mostly hype really.

Well the answer is pretty simple so I don't know why you're speculating too much about it.

Obviously they just really enjoy music made by bronies. Maybe they do occasionally listen to other music, maybe they were exaggerating, but we all know that our fandom is talented with the music, more so than any other fandom I should think, so why not make the most of it?

Also, they clearly listened to other music before they became a brony! Don't be such a mule - saying "I only listen to brony music" does not imply that they only listen to brony music, always have and always will, does it?

I have a minor selection of brony music on my iPod, but none of my absolute favourites consist of them. I mus say, I could not live without our real artists.

Okay I'll put it this way. Comparing brony music to "normal" music is like comparing flat generic store brand cola to Coca-Cola. Why would I settle for a knock off when I can have the real thing?

I honestly do not know. They probably just like it a lot. I enjoy brony music and have about 20 brony songs on my ipod but they are not the only things I listen to they aren't even the majority of the things I listen too.
