But it is feels weird to me to have affection for a villainous character. I very much identify with the heroes, and the characters like Pinkie Pie who devote their lives to lifting others up. Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball from Adventure Time. I just love them. Fin from Adventure Time. He has the cutest shriek of all of them. Dipper from Gravity Falls. Nagisa Hazuki from Free! Bolin, from The Legend of Korra. Its not a cartoon but Red, from the Pokemon manga. (I would have said Yellow until I saw he was a girl.) And last but not least... Caterpie, from Pokemon. I dont exactly remember all of their Names, because its a long time since i watched cartoons, so...i really cant say Currently they arent any, because i havent watched much Furry related cartoons lately. The only one i remember right now is Mrs. Brisby from The Secret of Nimh and that one Girl from the Sequel. But your right, mostly eye candy, reformed villian, was a hideous mutant at some point, angsty teen with a heart of gold, So cliche! He just has everything I want in a boyfriend, cool personality, likes to pull jokes, defends his girl no matter what, (yes sadly he's taken sigh ) ...Wait, that just described my taste in women! Shoot! Like, Limestone Pie, Maud, Rainbow Dashie, Chrysalis and maybe even Luna if she ever got enough screentime for me to get a good read on her character. (Yes, I know Limestone got less collective screentime then Luna. Stop questioning my pony waifu listings!) Maybe i'd like Raven from teen titans too, but never watched too much of the show. Considering how much trouble she purportedly went through in the comic book series she likely has the darkest, tragic backstory of any character in existence! Think the term for that is called Mayadere. Villain turned good, but still not the most open with their feelings. But aside from that trope, think my first ever crush was Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Cooled a bit since my youth as I can really see how some might hate her.
