Caramel ran quickly back to the house and opened the door. She ran up into her room. "Missy's in the hospital, she's not doing well, we have to get back" she said, flicking on the light

 

Grand woke up suddenly and sat up. "What? Missy's in the... Oh, no" she said, jumping our if bed, not bothering to fix her hair. "We need to go Zeta, quickly!"

"Missy, in the hospital? Oh no.." He said while getting up with Grand. He was already gone from the room and awaited the other two in the front door. "C'mon lets go guys, we gotta hurry! Caramel, what happened to her? Is she injured, or... Something? Did she get hurt in some horrible way?"

The doctors had resuscitated her and had gotten her into stable condition and were now performing an X-Ray on her brain and lungs.

 

Starburst went over to Glint, he wiped away his tears.

"Hey there, lil' sis. You been having fun with Moon?" Starburst asked. Glint nodded.

"Hey there, lil' sis. You been having fun with Moon?" Starburst asked. Glint nodded.

Moon looked up at Starburst and held out Glint for him. "Me and her have been bonding well, surprisingly. I love how cute she is, and how much of a mystery she can be too. Glint's such a wonderful baby, i'm glad your mom made that decision when you guys were off on the trip."

"Yeah, I had always wanted a little brother or sister, that I could have fun with, somepony to teach magic to." Starburst said, taking hold of Glint in his forelegs as he sat down, he cradled her and she snuggled up to him, her eyes closing, soon she was fast asleep. "Perhaps it's best if we take Glint away from all this."

 

Fire was speaking to a guard outside the hospital.

"We'll get right on it, sir." The guard said.

"Thank you, I really appreciate it." Fire replied, the guards left.

"Take Glint away from all this? What do you mean honey?" She said curiously, but before an answer could come, the doctor who was working on Sirius's arm came.

 

"I have some, good news. Very little bad news, but i'll tell you that. She's going to be in crutches for a few weeks, just in case because her bone is soft and could break easily once more. But the good news is, we fixed her with upmost success."

 

Moon smiled, getting up and hugged the doctor. "Ooohh, thank you so much! I'm so glad that you didn't have to put in a metal joint~! Can we go see her now?"

The doctor nodded, helping her to the room. But before leaving she called to Starburst. "Do you want to come?"

"Yes, alright, but we can't tell Sirius about this." Starburst said, following her. "Somepony tried to murder her, and it wasn't a bandit attack because her saddlebags were untouched, they still had stuff in them." Starburst sighed, he had Glint wrapped in one of his forelegs as he walked.

Caramel looked at him as she led the two back to the hospital. "She... Was attacked. We don't know why or how, but we need to hurry" she said quickly

 

Grand ran quickly. " I hope she's okay" grand said, running behind caramel, taking deep breaths. "Why is this happening?"

Moon was shocked. "Missy was attacked? Wow, and I didn't notice it.. Where is she now? Is she alright?" The pony wondered while walking into Siri's room. When they entered though, she shut her mouth and only focused on her daughter.

 

Sirius was lying upright and awake, the catheter still in her. "Hi mommy! They fixed my arm, but there's some stitches left now." She said while showing the arm. It was out of its cast, but there was a line going up from the lower hoof to her shoulder. "Oh well, it's all better! And how are you doing Mister Starburst?"

"I'm......fine, don't worry about me. Or anypony else for that matter, all you should worry about is making sure you are okay." Starburst smiled weakly and sat down in a chair with Glint. He looked over at Moon and sighed, he felt like he was going to just start crying suddenly, but he held it in. But he couldn't help but have a sad expression.

"I'm......fine, don't worry about me. Or anypony else for that matter, all you should worry about is making sure you are okay." Starburst smiled weakly and sat down in a chair with Glint. He looked over at Moon and sighed, he felt like he was going to just start crying suddenly, but he held it in. But he couldn't help but have a sad expression.

Moon heard the sigh and sat down with Starburst and Glint. She gave a soft hug just after and started to pat him on the back, while signaling with her hoof to Sirius to say nothing.

"Hey, it's alright honey... You know she's going to make it through, since your mother is strong okay?" She said this time with a nice voice, then started to rock him side to side. "Oh Starburst, you're so worried... It's perfectly fine, and you can let out anything that you want with me.."

Starburst looked down at Glint, and he started crying and hugging her, he remained silent for a couple of minutes.

"I just want things to be normal." Starburst whimprered. "It's like we can never have a normal life in Ponyville, more things have happened to us in this town, than have ever happened to us. I think if my mum lives or dies, we're moving."

Starburst looked down at Glint, and he started crying and hugging her, he remained silent for a couple of minutes.

"I just want things to be normal." Starburst whimprered. "It's like we can never have a normal life in Ponyville, more things have happened to us in this town, than have ever happened to us. I think if my mum lives or dies, we're moving."

"Starburst...." She said while comforting him gently. Moon kissed him on the cheek, knowing that it was true. Their lives have been such a mess now, that it's been ridiculous. Maybe it was finally taking it's toll on Starburst here, thinking that, and maybe it would do the same on everypony else.

"A normal life, that's something I've never lived before so I cant tell you anything." Moon replied to him, saddened. "I don't know when our days will become 'normal' but we have to wait out the storm.. No matter what happens over time though, you have to stay strong. So please don't give up on Ponyville, because eventually.. Your life, it will be better.."

Steel was in the bathroom head In the john puking he had drank four bottles of whisky and couldn't remember why he was drinking so muchinthe first place once done puking he drank some more and laid down in the tub so he wouldn't havetogo so far the next time...

A doctor walked in to the room.

"Hello, Starburst?" He asked. Starburst wiped away his tears and gave Glint to Moon.

"Yes, that's me." Starburst replied.

"Your mother, she's.... there's no easy way to say this....she's in a coma, there was too much damage done to the brain." The doctor explained.
"The brain? She was stabbed." Starburst argued.

"Yes, there was a long period of time when she wasn't breathing, and lack of oxygen can cause damage to the brain, we did all we could but, I'm afraid.....there's a small chance she could never wake up."

In the event of Missy being hurt, Stephan just sort of... disappeared. He was taking his own journey. He set his sights for the griffon kingdom, where he intended to take Gilda on one-on-one. He knew his chances in success were pretty slim, but he wanted to prevent her from sending out any further griffon assassins.

Grand stormed into the hospital and walked up to the doctor. "You! Where is she, where is Missy?" She said harshly, looking at the doctor with cold eyes. "Bring me to her or I'll find her myself, I know this hospital better than anyone"

 

Caramel walked up to her sister and put her hoof on her shoulder. "Calm down Grand, that's enough"

 

Grand looked at her sister. "I need to see her" grand said, brushing the loose messy curls from her face

"Certainly, Grand, this way." He said, leading them to Missy's hospital room, it was horrifying to see her like this, she had an oxygen mask on her muzzle. "We've done all we can for her, but it's unlikely she'll wake from this soon."
"Grand, there's something....." Starburst said. "....something that I wanted to tell you, but I guess it doesn't matter now." Starburst looked sadly down at Missy, near-lifeless eyes, only breathing with assistance.

Grand was horrified. Not from her condition, but the thought that someone did this to her. "You can leave, doctor" she said coldly. She walked up to the bed and sat down. "You can't leave now Missy, not with two beautiful children who need their mother" she said softly.

 

Caramel walked over to Starburst and nuzzled him. "It's alright Starburst, we can wait a little longer"

Starburst started crying and hugged into Caramel when Grand mentioned Glint and him, the doctor had left as requested.
Fire walked into the room, with a stern expression.

"Alright, everyone  is organising in the town hall right now, I've got security on lockdown." Fire said. "That goes for all of you!" He walked back out again and went to the town hall.

Siren walked up to Fire and smiled. "Should I refer to you as mayor? Well, it doesn't matter. I have some valuable information regarding your wife's attempted murder. The culprit wasn't exactly subtle"

 

Caramel hugged him. "Let's go, you don't need to see her like this" she said quietly, leading him out

 

Grand sat quietly, monitering her heartbeat and resisting the urge to check her vitals

"Just call me Fire." Fire said to her. "And I'll listen to what you have to say on our way over, I have a few ponies in mind." Fire said as he led Siren towards the town hall.

 

"I just don't want Glint to grow up without a mother, it would be awful." Starburst said, still leaning on Caramel.

Fair enough. Well, I went around town to see what I could find, and it seems there's a bit of an illegal fight club around. They told me that your friend Steel had made a deal with a mysterious pony right before Missy's attack"

 

Caramel kissed him on the cheek. "She won't. I can guarantee you that" she said softly.

"Just call me Fire." Fire said to her. "And I'll listen to what you have to say on our way over, I have a few ponies in mind." Fire said as he led Siren towards the town hall.

 

"I just don't want Glint to grow up without a mother, it would be awful." Starburst said, still leaning on Caramel.

Moon overheard Starburst and walked up to him. She knew Caramel was with him and wanted to speak a bit, so she tapped him on the shoulder and smiled. "Hey... Me, Grand, or Caramel could be the mother for now. You know she's not alone Starburst, heck you've already seen me take care of her. So just know that we're here for her, and for you too..~"

 

Meanwhile, Zeta was in the hospital with Grand, but he left her alone. He knew that she didn't want be talked to, but sighed and hugged her gently. "Grand.... Please don't let this, get to you.."

"Thank you, Moon, it means more to me than you could ever imagine." Starburst said, hugging Moon tightly, she was one of the most dependable mares he'd ever met. "Ok, Caramel, I think my dad wants us all in the town hall." Starburst said, before leading Caramel to the town hall.

 

Fire was counting over the ponies.
"I believe you're right, Siren, it seems Steel didn't bother to show up, everypony in town is here except for him, well, apart from some obvious exceptions." Fire said. "Starburst, come with me, you're the magic guy."

Starburst saluted and followed.

"It won't, but as soon as they find the pony that did this..." She said trailing off. "Let's go to town hall, everyone's already there" she said, getting up and walking out of the room

 

Siren nodded. "It's all I've got for now, the pony he made the deal with is likely long gone"

 

Caramel stood among the other towns ponies, watching the ponies chatter among themselves
