"Now she's just an embarassment" She said under her breath, laying down. she pulled the covers up over her head and sighed, keeping to herself. "She's no better than my parents"

 

Meanwhile, Grand had been unpacking her things in the small room. She sighed, figuring she would have to get a job eventually to pay for the room. She refused to use Zetas money for this

"Your parents? I don't have any right to ask this, I know, but what happened with your parents?" Starburst asked, trying to ask as lightly as possible so as not to make her angry.

"They got sick of us and they left. I never heard from them since. At least when they left I was too young to understand why, now I know exactly why" She said, turning to face Starburst. "Your lucky you know, to have such a close family. I wish I could say the same, but now I'm not so sure"

"If you cared so much, then why didn't you tell somepony, or try to help her in some way, even check if she was still alive." Fire yelled, he thought for a minute. "Since Missy isn't here and I'm her husband, I can choose whether or not to press charges against you, and after so much misery and death, I just want it over with, which is why.........." Fire closed his eyes and sighed. "I forgive you."

 

Starburst felt awkward when she mentioned his family. He walked over and sat beside her bed.

"Caramel, the bond between you two goes beyond sisters, anypony can see that, if Grand was the one who raised you.....and I'm sure she did, then you have to fight to keep that. You don't want to lose Grand forever do you?" Starburst asked.

"She's the one who left, not me! Of all ponies I would think she would know how it feels to be abandoned! Of course I dont want to lose her, but I'm not the one pulling away." She said, refusing to cry. "I'm just... I'm tired, Starburst. Today has been a long day, can we talk about this tomorrow?" She said softly

"Of course." Starburst smiled. "I'll speak to you in the morning." He kissed Caramel on the head and went out of the door.

 

"Steel, one thing I want you to answer." Fire said, "If you knew it was Missy or any one of us, would you still have done? What I really mean is.......is money more important to you than friends?"

Caramel watched him leave. "Um, Starburst?" She called. "you can stay with me... if you want" She said quietly. "Theres plenty of room, I don't mind" she said, watching the door for him. She wouldnt admit it to Starburst, but she didnt want to be alone in this big house.

Stephan walked into the house and opened up the closet. He began filling up his saddlebags with everything he usually took on a trip; trail mix, bandages, water canteen, rope, etc. He threw on his jacket and stopped near Caramel's room.

"I'm going out to look for your sister, Caramel." Stephan said. "I promise I'll bring her back here in one piece. If I fail... I don't know what I'm going to do. But I'll hold myself responsible for her disappearance."

"I'm sorry, I thought you would've wanted to be alone right now." Starburst came back in, he sat down on the bed, and looked out of a window, the smoke from the burning building was reaching high into the sky. "Maybe some day, when things stop happening to us, we can finally have a good life together."

Caramel looked at Stephan. "You do whatever you think is best Stephan, but I have a feeling your one of the last ponies she wants to come looking for her. Its my guess she left because she was tired of you and Zeta fighting over her. If I were you, I would just let her be. Starburst and I are going tomorrow"

Zeta was in Grand's room, which when Stephan was talking to Caramel he got up and walked out to him.

"Ugh, um.... Hey Stephan, I... I heard what you were talking about just now, and I was wondering if I could probably come with you.. You know I love Grand a lot, and i'd do anything to find her now, but it's up to you if you want me to or not..."

"No, you are not going to find Grand, she needs to be left alone right now, and the two of you turning up out of the blue to "rescue" her wouldn't help, so why don't you just sit your asses down here, and let some ponies she doesn't have confused feelings for, go and help her instead!?" Starburst yelled. "Sorry, I got carried away there."

"No, Caramel. It's because of me that she's gone." Stephan said in an upset tone. "I couldn't get over her. I just need to tell her that I'm trying my best to move on. I'll never be able to live again if I don't tell her."

Stephan turned around to Zeta. "I'm sorry, Zeta, but I'm afraid I need to do this by myself." He said sadly. "I just want to tell her so I can have the burden off of me for good."

Stephan heard what Starburst said and turned to him, a little angry. "I have my own reasons to look for her, Starburst." He said. "I won't let you hold me back. If I don't get this feeling out in the open to her, I'm going to lose my mind. Maybe even possibly kill myself. So, you can sit tight with your marefriend that you were just DESTINED to have while I go explain myself to the one I had no chance in having in the first place."
With that, Stephan strapped on his saddlebags and walked out the door. Grand couldn't have gone too far at this point. He made a decision to start with Appleoosa. If she wasn't there. He'd keep searching. She didn't have to come back. He'd let her do whatever she wanted. He just needed to get this off his chest. Once he did, Grand could scream "I HATE YOU, STEPHAN!!" and he'd barely be phased by it. Stephan got into a running position and prepared to jet off.

"I'm sorry Steel, I believe a memory spell was performed on you, I need to talk to Twilight, right now. Follow me." Fire said, running out the door and towards the library.

 

Starburst slammed the door shut.

"Why does that stallion have to be so compulsive, I mean......he's just like Rainbow Dash, that reminds me......I have something against Stephan now." Starburst smirked menacingly. "Rainbow doesn't know that Stephan is still into Grand, and if she were to find out about this then....."

Caramel sighed. "Why would you need to blackmail Stephan?" She asked, laying back down in her bed tiredly. 

 

Siren woke up and tapped her hooves together. She wasnt sure if she should leave town or stay. If she left, she would have a better oppurtunity of getting away, but they would know it was her who had hired Steel. If she stayed, she could be found out, but no extra suspicions would arise

 

Grand yawned after unpacking and layed in the hotel bed. She remembered Caramel and a wave of guilt hit her.

"ok then let's go" steel said as he followed "and it's steel heart not steel" steel was getting annoyed e caught up to fire " as far as the general public knows I'm dead and. Want to keep it that way till thus is over so pleas call me steel heart"

((I'm surprised that fire has yet to ask steel how he survived))

"Plus everypony knows that you killed Missy. One question however "Steel Heart", how did you survive that explosion? All those inside got burned up, yet you're still here." Fire arrived outside the library.

 

"I have to do something to convince Stephan not to do this, if he doesn't give Grand space, he could ruin their relationship forever." Starburst sighed. "If he doesn't stop what he's doing, I'm going to tell Rainbow Dash that he hasn't moved on from Grand." Starburst felt guilty just for saying that.

"So your going to ruin one relationship so he wont ruin another? You can't do that Starburst, If thats what he's choosing to do then we have no right to stop him" She said and yawned. "Lets just go to sleep, its been a long day." She said, putting her head on the pillow.

Starburst talked all tough, but he knew that when the moment came down to it, he couldn't hurt two ponies he cared about.

"I'm going to talk to Stephan, see if I can talk some sense into him." Starburst said. "I'll be back soon. Don't worry, I'll make the right decision." Starburst smiled before leaving.

"Stephan. Wait! I need to talk to you before you do something you're going to regret."

Before Stephan could jet off into the moonlight, he was stopped by Starburst. He sighed and turned around.

"Look, Starburst, I know you don't want me to hurt Grand, but I must do what I must do." He said to him as he ran up to him. "What is it? I need to get going." He said.

Steel looked at him "hidden escape route o the second floor in between the walls it led to a tunnel and my bug out bag thats how I got the due and such" steelherart said as he stopped out side the libreary "don't tell Missy as far as everypony knows I'm stanied steels brother steel heart"
