Brian Griffin deserves special mention though. He's a blatant Mary Sue author avatar who never fails to annoy the shit out of me every chance he gets. He exemplifies every last one of the major sins an author can commit when they create a character.

Hate is such a strong word. I wouldn't say that there aren't any characters that annoy me or that I merely dislike. Even in Friendship is Magic, like Celestia or Snips and Snails. But I have one I hate in a more rational than passionate way.

Interesting. There might be no anime character I hate more than his son. Gendo gave his son a chance to be mature and stand up for something, but all his son seemed to do a lot of the time was bitch and moan. It's nice to see someone who feels the opposite though.

The characters make the show for me. Anything I listed, and many others I listed were unentertaining, boring, overrated, and/or were asses/annoying. Therefore I hate the whole show because certain shows are made up of this stuff.

Seriously, can't stand many of these due to characters. Especially Finn from Adventure Time. Especially Finn.

I can't really stand Mary Jane from the Spiderman cartoons, she was always the dansel in the distress that always got kidnapped. Except, she was always getting kidnapped seriously the things that Peter does for her she needs to pay him back.

 

Also, I can't stand Finn from Adventure Time. *Puts up the riot shields* Just hear me out, his voice is annoying and he isn't really that entertaining at all. He is like the Matthew Broderick of animated shows, boring and uninteresting.

Every single character from Fairly Odd Parents. Seriously, am I the only one who couldn't stand that cartoon from the beginning? All everyone does is just be painfully unfunny to me whenever they aren't being complete dumbasses. I did give the show a chance, but I just really found it annoying. I don't even care if Tara Strong voiced Timmy Turner, either.

Cilan from Pokemon. He's just a fancy pants version of Brock who cares more about becoming a connoisseur than actually doing something useful. He gets on my damn nerves.

 

New Team Rocket from Pokemon. The old Team Rocket was way better, funnier and tolerable to watch. The change in mood that happened to them made them too serious and just plain agonising to watch.

 

Diamond Tiara. She's just a spoiled brat and has that personality where you just want to punch her in the face. Every time she appears on screen I start to cringe.

Jerry from Tom and Jerry.. I mean, most of the time, Tom's just minding his business or looking to have some time for himself, and then Jerry comes along and messes it all up for him.. A top-notch jerk.

 

Finn from Adventure Time.. His voice is just annoying and his character doesn't really have much to him in my eyes.. But I guess it doesn't help that I really don't like Adventure Time in general.

 

Any character in Family Guy.. Well, at least after Season 3. Is there not a single likeable character in this show?

 

Homer/Bart/Lisa Simpson after the show went downhill.. Homer's just become an even bigger egotistical dick, Bart is just irritating, and Lisa is just boring (well, her episodes are boring)

It's been awhile since I watched a show with a character I actually hate.

 

One I remember was Toddler Lambo from Katekyo Hitman REBORN! An already somewhat just 'meh' anime for me (it was along the lines of "something to watch"), Toddler Lambo drove me up the wall. He was such an annoying character. His grown up self is tolerable, even likable, but even when the series goes to a plot where it makes sense for grown-up Lambo to be the version of himself that stays around, the author creates some strange plot point that makes Toddler Lambo show up instead anyway... Ugh.

I can't really think of anything right now, but the first thing that comes to mind is Elsa De Sica from Gunslinger Girl.

She's absolutely anti-social, pushes people away, and stuck-up. But that's not why I dispise her. It's this guy:

 

Lauro, her handler. A real scumbag. He pushed her away and thought of her as nothing but a tool. She wanted to show affection for him, but he never showed it back. I don't want to spoil anything, but shit goes down.

The cast of Adventure Time. Especially Finn's voice. Everytime he bellows out 'Adventure Time' I just want to punch my TV screen

I cannot stand any Sonic characters. The only one i likes is Tails since his eyes aren't horribly shaped and he's actually pretty adorable.Seriously though, wtf is wrong with their eyeballs. Their eyeballs have creeped me out since the beginning of my life.

Who else... Hmm. Everyone else has already mentioned other characters i hate, like all characters from Naruto, Dragonball Z, Spongebob, Dora, Johnny Test, etc.

Kinda surprised no one has put the Greasers from CatDog yet, I don't see how it was ever a good idea to have a group of characters who literally only exist to beat the living piss out of the main characters. Seeing them almost never get their comeuppance just pisses me off to no end and often made the show an absolute pain to watch, Same thing with Winslow. It was no wonder why I used to hate the show so much

 

Hell almost the entire cast from that show were some of the most unlikeable characters in the history of animation

I really can't stand Caliliou. Not only is he annoying as hell, and has the personality of a rock, but he also NEVER.SHUTS.THE.HELL.UP!

I also hate Uncle Grandpa (who is a SERIOUS pedo), Annoying Orange (who was annoying on the internet and is even more annoying on television) and Sarah, Jimmy and Kevin from Ed Edd n Eddy (yeah, the show was awesome, but these 3 were extremely unlikeable)

Any anime character that tries too hard to appear masculine. Anime is simply not a medium where that works out well. Of course, they can look masculine just fine, and act is just fine. It only becomes a problem when the character tries so hard that their only personality trait is "Look at my muscles".

I would have to say that I absolutely loath the abysmal abomination named Mako from Legend of Korra.

At best he is a Gary Stu and creator's pet but at worst he is slimy, disgusting, repulsive, misogynistic and a complete and utter *****bag and the worst part is that he never gets called out for it and we are supposed to root for him.

It also doesn't help that he is the root of the worst thing to ever happen in the Legend Of Korra which was that unforgivable love triangle that also came back in book 2 and never seemed to stop being painful.

All and all this picture right here can easily explain most of why I hate Mako especially his p***-poor treatment of Asami.
