Harry sat down onto the floor. "Is it okay for me to hang around until the skies are clear?" He asked, "I do not want to be traveling back to my home in this weather. Not only is it wet, but it is also chilly. I fear that if I make another trip, I might catch a cold."

"Hunh....oh yea. That's fine. That's acutaly the last thing I need. Ponies out in this storm. even thought the rain is dieing down, the lightning is starting to pick up. I need to get this storm cleared as soon as possible."

 

Sky looked at Ember. "I'm going to start by clearing a path from the office here to the park and start from there. You should...and I mean should be good to start setting up within the hour if all goes according to plan. Do not leave this office until you can see sun coming in the window. Understand?"

(Screw it, sorry but I'm not waiting for Stummpa anymore. It's been nearly 2 months since his last post, I'm just going to say it was all just a dream, I'm not being rude it's just that my patience is wearing thin.)

Rut Light was peacefully laying in his bed, still experiencing the dream he was having. With the help of a crack of thunder he awoke from his slumber to find he was still in his bed. Rubbing his eyes of sleep, he got out of bed and looked at his clock on the wall; it read almost 11:02am, "Damn, been sleeping for almost half the day. Oh well not like I've done that before." He said slowly as he trotted out of the personal train heaven known as his room and walk out into the kitchen to pour him self some coffee. "Haven't had a dream in a while, that was the first one in...about three years."

Ember chuckles nervously, rubbing the back of his singed mane with a hoof.  "Heh, no worries about that with me...  I couldn't go out there right now if I wanted to.  I'll wait here 'til you give the all clear!"  He hadn't expected Sky to get on to clearing the clouds so quickly - Ember had more fireworks to put together if the show was going on tonight!  He quickly turns to trot back to his borrowed desk, once more talking to himself as he starts sorting through his reagents.

Sky looked at ember, still seeing a slight fear of rain in his eyes. "Don't worry, I'll have this taken care of in no time at all." he said putting a hoof on Ember's back and than looks to the map of the city.

"Ember, you have to keep this a secrete from everypony. I may have created a super storm accidentally. I need to thin it out before something bad happens. you can't let Pondah or Sunny know about this or they wouldn't let me out in it. That's the reason I'm getting an early start clearing it. OK?"

 

He took a deep breath and let out a sigh.

"With my speed and if this was a normal storm.....it should take me about an hour to clear, but with this thing..." He looked at Ember with a dead serious face. "If I'm not back in two hours, you may want to start looking for me, however I should see you at the park later tonight....OK?"

 

Sky his hoof off of Ember's back and quickly trotted up the stairs to the appartment.

"Guys, I'm going to start clearing the sky now, OK? I should be back in a bit."

 

Sky quickly goes down the stairs to the front door of the office, looking out, before opening the door and flying up into the dark black clouds. busting the ones over top of the office first before heading to the park."

With the duvet still surrounding him, Pondah rose to his hooves and began walking towards the door. It was difficult seeing out from his cover but Pondah soon found himself on the landing of the stairs. He began to descend.

 

'I'm going to have to take this very slowly. One small step at a time. Stay concentrating...'

 

Sluggishly, Pondah worked his way down the stairs. He was around halfway before he missed a step and he began to tilt forwards. After what seemed like an eon, Pondah began to roll down the stairs, still encased in the duvet.

 

'Ow ow ow! I'll feel that in the morning! Note to self: Don't use a duvet as armour.'

 

The duvet ball thundered down the stairs and through the doors to the office. It skimmed a desk and came to a gentle stop in the middle of the office. "Ow..." Pondah groaned.

Harry sat there staring out at the rain. He did not like it. Not one bit. Harry sighed. 

"This storm is such a mean-spirited fellow." Harry thought.

Harry scratched his left foreleg, trying to relieve an itch on it. It was a minor itch, but an annoying one. He did not need this–not on this day. The polite young pony lass had brightened his day a little, though.

Ember jumped up from his borrowed desk, carefully setting down the firework he had been in the process of putting together.  "Pondah!  Are you alright!?"  

 

The unicorn runs over to the crash site, his broken horn glowing a soft green as he tries to help pick Pondah back up.  "That looked like a pretty nasty fall..."

After a nice cup of joe, Rut-Light exited his house while closing and locking the door behind him; for obvious reasons.  As he walked out of his home, the rain instantly met him with its cold, wet embrace and while Rut-Light generally doesn't mind the rain, it was common sense to him that thunderstorms shouldn't be taken lightly, especially when there's lightning cracking around the sky, streaking across the heavens with its bright, bluish glow.  The rain splashed onto the glass of the monocle over his left eye but he didn't mind as he  simply but lightly pulled the chain dangling off the side of it, causing it to brighten and shine a beam of light much like that of a flashlight (or Torch, for you Brits).  

 

He trotted off into the rain, heading to nowhere in particular just taking a stroll around the city.  He passed by his workplace, the Baltimare Railway, taking just a moment to gaze at the sheds with closed doors where all of the wondrous locomotives were being held until tomorrow at which point the yard would be busier than ever.  He finished thinking about what tomorrow held and continued his walk.

Pondah had ironically fallen right past Sunny, who did her best to keep from laughing for it would seem to cruel. She quickly trotted over to him next to Ember and attempted to help him back up as well. "Hey now, nopony said you could try acrobatic stunts off the stairs," she humored, trying to distract Pondah from the pain.

With the assistance of Ember's magic, Pondah quickly unravelled the duvet ball and was free. He rose to his hooves gingerly and took a sharp breath through his teeth. "It's ok," Pondah announced. "I've had worse. So much worse." Pondah took a quick look at his legs. There were no new bruises and his legs seemed to be able to take his weight.

Whilst checking for injuries, Pondah saw another pony had entered the office. "Oh, hello," Pondah said. "I'm Pondah. You're Harry aren't you?"

Sunny shook her head in disbelief of Pondah's fearful and untrusting personality that became all too evident. With another sigh, she shook the thought from her head. She then looked over to Ember and smiled happily before trotting up next to him and listening to Pondah's and Harry's conversation. The mare couldn't help but stare at Ember searchingly, admiring his sympathetic and helpful attitude over his intelligent and caring features. Sunny didn't know what she was looking for, but a slight pink petaled blushed appeared on her cheeks as she watched a smile appear on his face.

With Pondah untangled and introducing himself to Harry, Ember smiles and turns to look at Sunny.  Blinking to find her watching him, he smiles and blushes a little.  "Oh, umm, good news Sunny.  Sky told me he knows of a stage set up in the park...  He went out to start clearing the skies, we should still be able to put on a show tonight!"

 

Chuckling quietly he brings a hoof up to rub the back of his singed mane, inadvertently rubbing the fine layer of powder stuck to his hooves into the burned hair.  Why was she staring at me like that?  Do I have something in my teeth?  No, that's stupid.  I always look like I just crawled out of a fireplace, why would something as small as that make her stare?

As Rut-Light kept on walking down the street, he saw an orange pegasus fly out of a building and into the dark, stormy sky.  "Off to clear the weather I suppose, it's been like this for a while now."  Walking towards the building he heard some ponies talking in there and they seemed to be having a great time, so why not join in on the fun?  He stopped at the entrance, turning off his monocle flashlight and shook his coat, mane and tail clear of water and knocked on the door, waiting for somepony to answer.

 

Meanwhile, on a branchline connected to the Baltimare Railway that ran through a dense forest, a stray lightning bolt shot down from the heavens with tremendous speed and sliced straight into a tree that was near the rails.  The tree snapped in half and fell onto the tracks with a resounding, CRASH!  The rails were completely blocked off...

Sunny quickly turned away, slightly embarassed that she had been staring at Ember for so long. She then laughed a little in excitement at his news. "R-really? That's great!" the mare trumpeted happily, "Now you might be able to earn them bits for sure...and maybe even get them dreams in the long haul." It was as almost Sunny forgot about herself as she thought of Ember eventually starting a successful life in Baltimare. She was happy for him and hoped dearly that it would be so.

A knock on the door snapped Pondah out of his self diagnostic. He looked to the others in the room and then began to move towards the door. He reckoned that, as they were busy talking, it was only fair that it would be fair if he got the door. Wrapping the duvet around him for protection, Pondah, began to slowly open the door.

In front of Pondah was bright white Earth Pony wearing a shiny monacle. "H... hello," Pondah said quietly. "What do you need?"

Rut-Light looked upon the opener of the door and listened to what he has to say, then responded back. "Ah, hello there, mind if I come inside? It is kind of chilly out here." Nothing bothered him more than being cold; yet he didn't mind the rain at all. He noticed that there were others in the room as well, might be able to start up a bit of a conversation.

'Perhaps he's a friend of Mr. Sky... I'll let him in. He seems ok.'

 

"Ok," ​Pondah said quietly whilst stepping aside. "Would you like a towel to get dry? I can get one if you want." ​Pondah brought the white pony into the room and shut the door quickly behind him. It was warm in the office and keeping the door open would be a waste of heat. While waiting for the pony to respond to his question, another came to find.

 

'Where's Mr. Sky? I need him to show me what I have to do for my job. I imagine he's outside clearing the storm. I wonder why he didn't tell us where he was going. I'll see if this new pony knows anything.

 

"Did you see an orange pegasus outside?" Pondah asked Rut Light "He's my boss and I really need to ask him something."

Ember smiles and leans over to nudge Sunny playfully.  "Hey, that goes for you too!  This is gonna be a great chance for the both of us, right?  I mean, that was the plan after all."  The unicorn shuts his eyes and smiles again, a couple small sparks jumping out of his broken horn.  He opens his eyes to glance towards the door as Pondah lets in the newcomer, giving a friendly smile to Rut-Light.

 

"Oh, umm, my bad Pondah.  Sky asked me to let you know he was going to start breaking up the storm...  He should be back in an hour or two."  Out of respect for Sky, Ember left out the bit about creating a super storm...  For now, at least.  If the pegasus didn't return in time, he'd have to let them know so they could go try to find him.  But until then Ember had to stay confident that Sky could take care of the storm!

Rut-Light walked inside of the building, saying "Yes please, if it's not too much trouble."  and looked to the others, saying 'hello' by simply nodding his head and when he got by a table he stopped an turned around and spoke again.  "So, may I ask who I am in the presence of?"  he said, looking at those who were currently in the room with him; there was a mare with long, sleek golden hair that seemed to be a bit of a light brown-ish colour, adorned a cutie mark that resembled a rose.  The other one, with his black coat, very slightly scorched hair and green hair made him look like a pyrotechnic.  "My god, forgive me, where are my manners?  My name is Rut-Light."

'Just as I thought. Sky's dealing with this huge storm he's been forced into creating. Seems awfully big though. i wonder if he'll be ok? No, he's my boss. I have to believe he can do it.'

 

"Ok, thanks Ember," Pondah said as he went back up the stairs to retrieve some towels. His earlier tumble had left hiim leery of the stairs and as a result, Pondah went up the stairs very slowly. When he eventually reached the summit, Pondah nipped into the bathroom and took the last two clean towels. He'd get around to laundry later.

 

Just as gently as before, Pondah travelled down the stairs. In the main office, Pondah placed a towel on the floor in front of Rut-Light and offered the other too him.

Sunny giggled a little at Ember before turning to Rut Light and scuffing her hoof on the ground respectfully, "I'm Sunny Caramel of Caramel Orchards mister. Pleasure to meetcha." She then plopped to a sit as her sapphire eyes studied Rut thoughtfully...Seems like we're meetin all kinds of ponies now...

Harry Rogers turned his head towards the new pony. "Ah," thought Harry, "Another pony. Well, the more the merrier. Company ought to be appreciated when in this weather."

 

Harry Rogers got up and decided to explore the building, looking for a bathroom. His bladder was complaining a little.

Skycoaster

 

Sky began the frantic...and somewhat loosing battle to thin the storm. An orange streak filled the skies about the dark storm clouds. With each pass he took through the clouds, it thined them out, his Wonderbolt grade goggles covered in water. He had contained the storm, however he was not sure he'd have enough energy to clear the entire thing.

 

With a deep sigh, he flew over the park, busting the clouds over the stage and the majority of the park so the show could be set up as soon as passable. With about 30 precent of the city cleared in a half hour, he was on pace to have it clear by nightfall, however he wanted to hear Sunny sing.

 

He began to fly as fast as he could to try to meet his deadline, clearing block by block of the storm around the park.

 

A large thundercloud began to drift in however into the area over the park, similar to the one that put him out of commission a few days before. It just seamed to hover there, waiting for Sky to return, however he did not notice it at that time, keeping his mind on the blocks that still needed cleared.

Ember smiled in greeting to the monocled pony, giving a friendly wave of his hoof.  "Nice to meet ya, Rut-Light.  It's turning into a regular party here at the weather station, it's looking like.  Hehe.  I'm Ember Sparx, you can call me Ember though.  Most ponies do."  Ember couldn't help but compare Rut-Light's appearance to his own - the white stallion seemed much more fashionable than Ember did.  It must have been the monocle.  It wasn't something Ember was used to seeing.
