Your favorite moral in FiM? (So far)

I really like the one at the end of Equestrian Games.

It's great for people to believe in you, but more important is that you believe in yourself.

With time, we all find out just who we are. ^^

Relating to Twilight Sparkle discovering that she was meant to be a Princess, that's the closest thing I can relate it to.^^

I actually made a comic about it before. ^^

It may make more sense there. ^^"

Just watched 'Its About Time' today and this struck a chord with me as something I desperately need to take on board:

"And it's all because I couldn't stop worrying and let the future handle itself! Well, not any more. From now on, I'm gonna solve problems as they come, and stop worrying about every little thing!"

I now realize there are wonderful things in this world you just can't explain, but that doesn't necessarily make them any less true. It just means you have to choose to believe in them

B)

Probably from The Crystal Empire "You weren't willing to risk the future of the citizens of the Crystal Empire in an effort to guarantee your own. Far better that I have a student who understands the meaning of self-sacrifice than one who only looks out for her own best interests."

These two are my favorites, mostly for personal reasons.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned something amazing! Everypony everywhere has a special magical connection with her friends, maybe even before she's met them. If you're feeling lonely and you're still searching for your true friends, just look up in the sky. Who knows, maybe you and your future best friends are all looking at the same rainbow.

Immediately after hearing this the first time I watched the episode, I paused and then went to the window and looked up into the sky.

That year was a very lonely year for me.  I'm a bit of a sucker for cheesy things.

But it really made me feel like I wasn't so alone.

I did something similar the first time I watched that episode, although it was later on in the day, at night. Now I think of that episode just about every time I look at the night sky.

That episode has always been kinda special to me, because when you think about it, it's true. No matter where you are in the world, the night sky looks the same. It appeared the same way thousands of years ago, even in ancient times. You're seeing the very same stars that every ancient man has seen since the dawn of civilization. No matter how far away we all are, either separated by distance, time, or anything else, we all share a special connection. We all live on this little blue marble, floating around in space.

Umm...from what I've watched of the show so far (in season 2 at the moment), I would say Twilight's first realisation "I learned how wonderful it is to have friends" from 'The Elements of Harmony' struck a chord with me. It may seem the most obvious but my lack of  acceptance regarding companionship paralleled Twi in the 1st episode, its a basic moral/lesson but a very powerful one which I am still working on.

Yeah. A lot of people say the pilot episode wasn't that good, but it had one of the best morals of all, in my opinion. It's kinda cheesy, and I don't think a lot of people "get" it, but yeah... it really struck a chord with me as well. There was a time in my life when I had to learn that I needed friends, and my experience echoes Twilight's in that episode.

My favorite moral is that a princess is someone who rules with love and compassion. Twilight learned how to be a friend, so she deserves the responsibility of ruling Equestria. This also teaches that if you become your best self you can become anything. Twilight didn't have to marry a prince to become a princess, and her royal duty is not just to be pretty and wear dresses like many Disney movies want kids to believe (I still love Disney though).

"Since you've come to Ponyville, you've displayed the charity, compassion, devotion, integrity, optimism, and of course, the leadership of a true princess...we're all your students now, too. You are an inspiration to us all, Twilight." ~Princess Celestia

This song sums up another great moral.

Swarm of the Century has a good two-fold moral. The explicit side is that if you don't know how to solve a problem, and someone is trying to tell you something, you should stop and listen. But the less obvious side is that even the best idea is useless unless you can communicate it effectively (or implement it yourself).

Bats! is good, that working against your morals is always a bad thing. Sort of the fallacy of democracy. The losers of a vote should be allowed to non-participate if they believe the chosen course of action is immoral. And because the vote involved Fluttershy's action specifically, there never should have been a vote in the first place.

Equestria Games is good, that happiness is often a choice, and you shouldn't let past failures tarnish future success.

Mare Do Well is the worst, that if someone in your circle of friends does good work but is hungry for attention, you should gang up and publicly humiliate them.

the positions of the constellations change

Allow me to stop being a smart aleck and say that that was very poetic. :)

It was kind of a moral I glossed over due to my cautious distrust of the "everyone's backstories are intimately connected" trope (MLP pulled it off pretty well by not overly focusing on it, though), but I like that way of seeing it.

It's already been said twice, but it's worth repeating because it is just so awesome...

Dear Princess Celestia, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. *ahem* I DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING!

This opening line was matched only by the heap of praise Applejack placed upon her friends after they reaffirmed her faith in them.

My favorite moral would have to not be from one episode, but from the Series as a whole. That moral would be that equality is the key to peace...we are all equal beings, on this one big planet, with one purpose. We may not know that purpose, but we will all learn it one day in our lives.....eventually......also, we must love and tolerate to succeed and make progress in our lives, and in the world...if only all world leaders on the planet could learn that :/

You know, it's kinda weird. No matter how many times others tell you you're great, all the praise in the world means nothing if you don't feel it inside. Sometimes to good about yourself, you gotta let go of the past. That way, when the time comes to let your greatness fly, you'll be able to light up the whole sky. - Spike (Equestria Games)

I am someone who suffers from very low self esteem and always doubt my work even when others shower me with praise. I've definitely have kept this lesson in mind now. And thanks to it, I've been more confident to write and draw again. I had been in a rut for so long, but this episode cleared my upsetting thoughts. :)

Mine is Don't freak out about the future from It's About Time.

By worrying about what is going to happen, we miss what is happening now.
