Starlight Arrow 3 October 12, 2012 Share October 12, 2012 I prefer pens. They look better to me than pencils. Even though you can't erase mistakes... I still like pens better. And, the tiny scratchy noise that pencils make drives me crazy.
murkyx 904 October 12, 2012 Share October 12, 2012 All posts preceding mine are now invalid, for I present to you THE PILOT G-2 ULTRA FINE-POINT PEN. This is a man's pen... and a woman's pen. This is a pen for the rugged and the sophisticated. Every line is smooth and dark; the grip is nothing less than luxurious. Simply holding a G-2 can improve concentration and adds +1 to your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma modifiers. Strong enough to withstand years of dropping and chewing, yet light enough to hang securely from your shirt pocket and be forgotten until such a time as it is needed. You haven't lived until you've held one of these for yourself. Pencils are anathema to me and to all lefties everywhere. Graphite has no drying time. Regardless of how long you let it set, be assured it will smear as you attempt to write the next line, covering the side of your hand with a gray sheen. What a coincidence, I looked down to see I was holding one in my hand. Great minds think alike, it seems. But yeah, when it comes to writing, I like pens. Preferably gel pens such as the G-2. The lines are smooth, dark, professional, and just give this overall comfort in writing unlike any I've ever felt. Almost with the same effect as writing with a quill, but in a more modern style. Regular ball-points require a bit of pressure and are stiffer in writing, which tires out the grip and wears on the fingers when writing something long like an essay. Pencils you have to be careful; a bad stroke of the hand could become smudge-ville or a broken lead which you need to sharpen up again. (Unless you had a mechanical pencil, which I usually prefer because they are more manageable and mess-free) Not to mention a bad eraser could ruin everything by leaving only a worse stain behind, or making lines too dark leads to it never being fully erased.. Also when handling a good pen, I tend to be more careful with my pen strokes. Truly I think the better the writing utensil, the better you write.
THE WILD HUNT 213 October 12, 2012 Share October 12, 2012 I usually prefer using a pencil mainly because I can erase any mistakes I've made. I get OCD when I just sribble out a word or something with a pen, so a pencil really lightens the load on assignments for me.
Indiana_Dash 81 October 12, 2012 Share October 12, 2012 Pencils have many advantages, you can erase the mistakes and you can always know when the pencil is getting over. But I prefer pen - it looks more officially.
