It's becoming difficult to tell if this thread is meant to be taken seriously. Too many inside jokes and people just filling their templates with "none" for every part. You might as well call it a chat room in which the topic is loosely centered upon crushes.

 

In all seriously, I feel that there could be at least some minor improvements to the thread's framework, one of which can involve members being honest in confessing their "forum crush" rather than making a ton of inside jokes — although completely harmless and funny for the members who are specifically involved — which could potentially and emotionally confuse those who are genuinely curious about who admires who in this community.

 

It's better to keep inside jokes regarding "crushes" to yourselves. Getting emotionally confused when one's crush jokingly "admits that it's you" is not fun. I've been there and I've seen several friends go through that too. For the sake of relevance, can we at least try to be more clear and honest?

You are right to some point, but You miss one thing.

 

Sharing crushes in public isn't always the right thing to do. It might end up in putting hard pressure on her (if it is for example popular member. Or You are the popular member) also if You really love someone then You should have guts to approach the person directly, not acting like some kind of ninja who becomes invisible to her. There's nothing to gain from acting like that. Girls don't bite and if girl suddenly just blocks a guy because he loves her then it is her loss, not his. And vice versa. 

 

Also I see Your point with stating to have crush on a wrong person but in my case I'd never put in this thread any girl that *might* have crush on me unless I had crush on her too. I am not fool, Dsanders. Overall this isn't a super serious thread (I doubt "serious" is even a correct word when used towards forum lounge), if You have genuine crush on someone - talk with that someone, not with everyone around You so that gossips can start to spread. Otherwise there are little chances to "impress" crush. 

 

But yes, it also went a bit too far, I'll try to cool down a bit and I hope others will as well.

I didn't really notice the thread's location. Thank you for pointing that out for me. This also leads me to another question. What are the exact rules by which a thread must follow in the forum lounge. Is any thread in the forum lounge automatically considered to be good ground for satire?

 

In addition, if the very concept of admitting your crush publicly is not ideal, then this thread's existence should be called to question, and the same goes for all those "finding your special somepony" threads which are humorously beginning to become chat rooms.

 

I guess, in conclusion, this thread purposes can be both satirical and in seriousness for those who feel compelled to post? If so, then let the fun continue freely as long as it doesn't completely de-rail this thread as a whole.

Forum lounge doesn't even have post count. Only rules here are: be nice and don't post NSFW. I doubt moderation cares about anything more than those two here as this section contains some of most pointless posts ever written on forum XD

 

Difference between those is that "finding Your special somepony" is in general discussion so if off topic will go out of hand out there moderation WILL do cleanup. That one is actually serious thread if You are really looking for a relationship here. Besides in that thread You don't do a shoutout to Your crush in public. You only claim that You are looking for a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Forum Crush: I prefer not to tell since I don't want to risk offending her somehow. Anyways apparently she was freaked out by me, probably because of the life threatening bullying resulted self defense incident that happened to me 3-4 years ago. I really want to let her know that I am all fine and friendly now... Or maybe it's also because of that prank she pulled off on me, sure I was feeling a bit angry (a normal reaction to a prank hopefully), but I was fine with it in the end and had a good laugh. Well my past experience certainly didn't help with that situation (I could imagine the inferred assumptions...) but dammit I was fine with it, I'm mature enough to take a prank, come on!

 

Pony crush: Fluttershy. She was a major support for my recovery throughout the past years. I could also relate to her a lot since both of us got bullied often earlier in life. Not so much of a romantic crush but some kind of mutual love I guess.

 

IRL crush: Couple of girls in my school but they are probably scared of me as well. Goddammit sure I workout and do self defense for security purposes but I'm all nice and friendly now why girls have to treat me like this whyyyyy... Nah ignore that dramatic part XD. I guess they are concerned about their own safety, which is kind of ironic since part of the reason I train and buff myself up is to protect my loved ones. Oh well, have to respect them and their decisions.

 

Anyways here's a little piece of my inner feelings, hope this doesn't sound like a ramble.

IRL Crush: Someone I've known in real life for a substantial stretch of time at this point. Took me a long time to figure out that I like this person, and no one else, in a romantic way. I don't believe in soulmates in the singular sense but if any such thing exists it's becoming apparent to me that she's the closest to it I've ever encountered. At the same time, I've decided that I'm not in a rush for a relationship at this point in my life so if it doesn't end up working out with her in that way I'll happily roll solo until if or when the time feels right to open up in that way again.
