Remi 1,305 Share August 10, 2013 I'm sure you've gone through this:But have you ever looked at yourself in a video or photograph, and just kind of,but looked at yourself in the mirror, and just kind of,At yourself?_______________Well there's a reason why you like your reflection in the mirror more than how you look on camera. Our brains adjust what we see more often, and chances are, that you see yourself in the mirror, more than on camera (unless you're those type of girls who keep posting selfies). With that being said, your brain is used to (and 'likes') your reflection in the mirror, than on camera.'But what's the difference?' you may be asking.Well, a mirror, isn't like a camera.A mirror, shows you an inverted version of your face, but only on the horizontal axis. Therefore, you view you face this way:(Let's just use Keanu Reeves as an example)Rather than how you really are:Now, both images are quite different, however the first one is the one Keanu would have preffered, as that is how he viewed himself in the mirror most frequently.__________________________So there's your answer. That is the explination as to why we prefer our reflections over photographs/video.For more infomation about this, check out this video by VSauce.http://youtu.be/zRP82omMX0gI have no idea how to carry on with this thread.
Misty Rose 3,209 Share August 10, 2013 Never thought about this before It is true of course. People spend more time in the mirror admiring themselves more than actually looking at pictures of themselves.
pinkiepool 129 Share August 10, 2013 when you look in a mirror, you see into an alternate universe. When you look at a picture you see a stolen piece of your soul.
. eris . 1,660 Share August 10, 2013 That's kind of creepy! I've always hated how I looked in pictures, I am the most un-photogenic person ever. Cameras hate me. But then I'll look in the mirror in the morning while I brush my hair and I'm all, "Heeeeey, good lookin'." Please ignore this post.
Jackie 57 Share August 12, 2013 Well if I take a picture of myself, I like it most of the time. But I don't really feel like I prefer one over the other. Idk.

Scootalove 10,597 Share August 13, 2013 Well, I don't really look good in reflections or pictures since my brown eyes look red in pictures. Let's just say, that I'm shy when it comes to pictures.

OneTrickPony 64 Share August 18, 2013 (edited) Any kind of frame of me is displeasing, I look in a mirror I smile then I usually sigh and walk away that's why I don't preferr pictures, my parents tell I have a good smile but I don't believe wanna know why. When I was a little kid I always smiled in pictures with my mouth shut!up till a year ago that stopped, I guess you could say that I didn't have time to practice or I just have a really bad smile.
