I think a large part of it was lack of things to do here. This place was just getting started up. I'd vouch to say at least half of the accounts on here aren't active anymore and that 7 out of 10 of all the ones opened previous to 2013 are no longer active. 

 

I'll admit I wasn't that active on here in 2012 and most of 2013 either. There just wasn't much to do.
