Raspberry32 226 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 (edited) Hopefully I'm not too late, but I guess I can share what I think are secrets. This one may not be too much of a secret, but I as well have a small huge, un-sexual crush on Rainbow Dash. Don't judge me. I hate shipping, unless it is heterosexual. I am NOT a fan of any kind of "gorefics(?)" like Cupcakes or Rainbow Factory. (Not a secret) I cried about 3 times while reading My Little Dashie. I cry a little on the inside when the lesson part comes at the end of every episode. (By crying on the inside, I mean tears do not form, but I feel my heart drop and tears feel as if they are forming behind my eyes.) I cried (on the inside) when each song played on the episode A Canterlot Wedding. (The ending was too heartwarming for me.) That's it for now, I'll see if I can't think up of anything else. .................................................................................................................... Radiance64 7,046 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 Okay....I've wanted to get this off my chest for a long time. Before I watched the show....when I was still macro surfing throughout the memetic part of the interwebs.... From what little speculation and information I had about the show back then (I was trying to know as least as possible about it), for some freaking strange reason... *long inhale* ........... I always assumed Discord was female and a librarian. You thought Discord was Twilight Sparkle?
Nas 2,862 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 Hopefully I'm not too late, but I guess I can share what I think are secrets. This one may not be too much of a secret, but I as well have a small huge, un-sexual crush on Rainbow Dash. Don't judge me. It's called a platonic attraction/appeal, and it's perfectly normal and fine in fictional franchises. IMO, it helps boost the undertsanding of a character's personality easier. I am NOT a fan of any kind of "gorefics(?)" like Cupcakes or Rainbow Factory. The category is called grimdark. Don't read those, like you say you're not into them. I cry a little on the inside when the lesson part comes at the end of every episode. (By crying on the inside, I mean tears do not form, but I feel my heart drop and tears feel as if they are forming behind my eyes.) I get that feeling a lot when sad/emotional parts some on, and especially when I think about them in my life. That is exactly how I'd describe it and I love that feeling. :3 I cried (on the inside) when each song played on the episode A Canterlot Wedding. (The ending was too heartwarming for me.). Ditto. Just tears all around.
Tupin86 194 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 I originally only started watching the show so I could understand the memes each episode made. I was looking at those long before I even watched an episode.
Nas 2,862 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 (edited) *Crickets* "..." *Ahem* *Silence* "Free Bird!" You thought Discord was Twilight Sparkle? Okay, so basically when I was going through 60's Spiderman images on the KYM gallery, I saw this, and judging by the look on Twilight's face (who by then I could tell was a main charcater), was not happy by the thought of this "librarian", so I assumed it was the/an antagonist, and the only one I thought was one at the time was Discord. And before that, for some reason when I saw another macro, it had a pic of him doing his wub face, and for some reason that made me think he was female. EDIT: Wow...nostalgia just slapped me in the face...I remember it was about 5 or 6 months ago when I was slowly succumbing to the eternal and merciless assimilating grasp of joining the herd....I remember looking that picture and looking at how weird Twilight's face looked... Ah, memetic memories... Edited June 10, 2012 by One Reliable Gamer (NF160)

Nas 2,862 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 (edited) I guess you kind of cleared that up. Yeah, I was basically going with everything I knew then, I was unaware that Twi was a librarian. I was sure the OP was referring to Discord (when I thought he was the main and only antagonist of the series). EDIT: OP as in the person who made that macro. Raspberry32 226 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 (edited) Unrelated Confession... I brush behind my teeth. I don't think this is a confession, but My Little Pony really helps me get through difficult times. From what I know, it does everybody. The happiness and joy of the ponies in the show just kind of rubs off on me. Maybe that's why I am happy all most of the time. I have an Applejack toy. You know, the little plastic models. Well, I will have one when I meet my friend next time and he remembers to take it with him. I wish it would be Rainbow Dash, but I'll settle for any of the ponies. Molten Arrow 6 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 I'm not a fan of the background ponies, I like to try and find Derpy, but I don't think she should get her own episode or become anything more then a background Where's Waldo kind of pony. And I cannot stand Pinky Pie.

Raspberry32 226 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 And I cannot stand Pinky Pie. That's brave of you to say something like that around these parts! No, seriously, It's fine. She isn't my favorite, either. But, I think she has the best songs!!!

But, I think she has the best songs!!! I do have to agree that she does, on occasion have a good song, but I think a lot of her songs can be kind of annoying at times. She does have moments when I think she makes a real contribution to the party as a whole, but I honestly wouldn't miss her all that much if she wasn't there. Her happiness rubs off on me. I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything, I just don't like her constant cheery attitude, the happiness that cheers you up is the same one that after awhile starts to get on my nerves. For me its a lack of maturity that kind of annoys me, but my views of Pinkie where increased when I saw her make progress with the Cake twins, that gave me more respect for her as it showed she was more then just play, she was an actual productive citizen of Ponyville.

Steel Accord 6,657 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 Well, she has been slapped at least twice: once by Nightmare Moon very lightly, and again by one of the Diamond Dogs on the butt as he called her a mule. An act which earned my everlasting enminity. Scene: I fly into the cave after said slap, wing swords drawn. "Filthy, mongrel troglodyte! You dare lay thy filthy paw upon her? Pray to Celestia for mercy, FOR YOU SHALL HAVE NONE FROM ME!" My confession: I get ashamed when someone in the fandom claims there is something wrong with them just because they like MLP:FiM just to get attention. Such as, "LOL LOOK AT ME I LIKE A KID'S SHOW I'M SO WEIRD DESUUUU" I've never seen that personally. Usually they make it clear their's nothing with them just by virtue of acting like normal (albeit really cool) people. I can say I share your sentiment though, that kind of behavior doesn't help our image. Hopefully I'm not too late, but I guess I can share what I think are secrets. I agree with you on all those things. (Substitute the crush with Fluttershy and Rarity.) Why do you cry at the lesson parts? I'm not judging or mocking, I'm just curious. Are they tears of joy because it's sweet, or sadness that the episode is over?

Whiteshade 1,426 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 Confessions... I'm okay with all gorefics and r34 ponies. I used to read fanfics, but then I took a tl;dr to the motivation. I love love love the music the community puts out.
Guest June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 I also enjoy clopfics, if they're well written. Well written is the key to anything. Me too
Skar 323 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 I use to be a clopper. Yes I got off on ponies. Not anymore though, trust me. I finally decided clop pictures were corrupting the show in my mind, so I stopped. Also, I love the song "Get Ready To Die" even though I heard it through "Cupcakes", and I bucking hate cupcakes. DashPony 359 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 New confession... Just found out that I really like shipping fics Especially an OC with one of the Mane 6. Only if it's well written though. Poorly written romance is painful to read
SpectrumUK_D 45 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 Well shipping. (But that's considered normal-ish right?) And I’ve read far too many clopfics for my own good just because one of my good friends proofreads and reviews them in his spare time (goes by the name of Zenos on most stuff) and like it or not he tends to spam me with them and I read them for the hell of it. (I'm not a clopper though, I just like the well written ones for the story ect.) Well I used to be rather anti-clop as well which caused some friction between me and him but I decided to change to a stance of 'uneasy acceptance' and go along with it. In actual fact the only reason I was so opposed to it is due to the negative stigma it invaribly brings to the fandom as a whole. I'm kind of ashamed of that now, I shouldn't have hated on them in the first place, least of all considering they’re a part of the fandom too. I like gorefics IF and I mean IF they’re well written and have a decent story. (Cupcakes = not for me cause it's just a gore scene with basically no story whatsoever which IMO is not particularly creative.)
Mr. Jaguar 1,402 June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 (edited) Oh, and a new conffesion, I like Flutterpie shipping, I found this person's deviantart page, she apparently devotes most of her account to art of it and has done a short comic of Fluttershy and Pinkie pie falling in love, and is currently making another, as well as two animated shorts (well pretty much just images in the form of a story on a slideshow with music playing). I found it kinda cheesy, but still adorable and heart-melting none the less. http://speccysy.deviantart.com/ Edited June 11, 2012 by Pegasus25
Tupin86 194 June 11, 2012 Share June 11, 2012 I figure it could be concluded from my other "confessions", but I really think some people take both hating and liking the show a bit too far. Not everyone, just an obnoxious few.

Not everyone, just an obnoxious few. I wish I could say the same. But the thing is I love this show and fandom so much! It helped me grow as a person. I tried to more actively make friends, tolerate differences, and hang out more with my youngest brother. So I can only see the hating as being bad. Especially when someone particularly close to me looses their venom upon that which has brought me so much joy! . . . Specifically, my other brother.
