"hey wait, we can't just mount armor on cars designed for speed, i mean this will make them significantly heavy, which is of course, something that a race car should avoid. Anywho i'm thinking of adding titanium and carbon fiber on the body(replace the bumpers,the doors,and other stuff)since they are pretty light and very resilient"

"Hey wait a minute, I just got a brilliant idea! My friend Thunder Dash is really good with technology. He could hook us up with all the latest in protection tech. He can put strong EMPGs (electromagnetic pulse generators) on our cars, which jam up communications and deliver quite a bit of damage as well. He can also install a system loaded with spike strips that deploy when you press a button. Anyway, there's a lot he can do. I can call him up if you want." Nitro Spark suggested

Blast finally got back to the garage and got out of his vehicle. "Oh no. Did I miss it?" Blast asked. "Terribly sorry, Nitro. I got caught up in some business that I thought was gonna take a few minutes, but it turned out to take much more time than I thought." He said. "So, what exactly did you need?"

"Well, you didn't miss that much actually. I was just about to call up a friend to hook us up with some sweet new technology. His name is Thunder Dash. Once I call him up, he'll install the new tech all for free. This way, we'll be all geared up for the sneak in later on." Nitro Spark explained.

"That sounds great, Nitro!" blast exclaimed. "While we're at it, we could call up my friend, Light Streak, too! He's pretty good with all the tech stuff, too. He even built my car with all of it's sweet features. If we call him up, we could get stuff done a bit faster." Blast insisted.

"Okay, let's call them both up, this way, we could have two tech specialists." Nitro Spark stated as he got out his phone and called Thunder Dash

 

Meanwhile up in Cloudsdale, Thunder Dash was just hanging out with his brother Electra Blitz until he heard his phone ring. "What up Nitro?" He asked. "Nothin' much but we've got a gang on the rise here in Detrot. You know you're the techno whiz right? Well my crew and I are gonna need some hook ups from you." Nitro Spark explained. "No problem! I'll gather my stuff and be there." Thunder Dash said. "Alright. See you." Nitro Spark said as he hung up the phone.

 

A few seconds later, Thunder Dash appeared with all of his technology stuff ready to be installed in the cars. "Guys, this is my good buddy Thunder Dash. He's here to hook us up with some sweet tech that will surely be able to take down the gang." Nitro Spark explained.

"Technology, huh?" Red responded, "What kind of 'technology?'" Of course, while Red like sci-fiey, hi-tech automotive technology and weaponry, he was quite curious, and did have doubts about if such technology would actually work out well for the whole crew.

In Ponyville, Light was in his basement lab, tinkering with a few new mechs and other machinery. He heard his phone go off and he scoured through his endless piles of buleprints and scrap to find his speaker phone. He finally found it and pressed the button.

"Speak." Light said

"Hey, man. It's me, Blast. I need you to come down to Detrot."

"Detrot? That's miles from here! Why are you all the way out there?"
"When am I not "all the way out there"? I need you come down here because we need your technological and mechanical know-how."

Light shrugged. "Okay. I need to get out of the lab anyways. I'll be over there soon."

Blast hung up and introduced himself to Thunder. "Hey there. Blasted Nova. Good to meet you." he shook the stallion's hoof.

As Rut-Light parked his 550 Barchetta in the garage he saw whom he guessed was Thunder-Dash and decided it would be best to introduce himself.  He shut off the V12, hopped out of his car and started to talk, "Hey there, names Rut-Light.  Nice to meet you Thunder."

Thunder Dash turned to Red Talon. "Alright, check this out." He said pointing to two wrapped coils of spike strip and a square dispenser. "This right here, is a portable spike strip dispenser. It mounts under your car. As you can see, the spikes are coiled. But once you press a release button, they fall from the dispenser and expand out on the road." Thunder Dash explained.

Thunder Dash turned to Red Talon. "Alright, check this out." He said pointing to two wrapped coils of spike strip and a square dispenser. "This right here, is a portable spike strip dispenser. "Spike strip launcher," Red Talon responded with interest, "These aren't, by any chance, capable of harming ponies, are they? Heh heh heh."

Red rarely acted this dark, but he knew that the pony that destroyed his NASCOLT career was in one of these gangs, and Red would stop at nothing to eliminate him.

"What other weapons do you have?"

"So, it's like a psychokinetic push?" Blast asked. "That sounds totally awesome! We'll have to test it out first, though. It looks very dangerous and complex." Blast pointed out. "Or I may be wrong. I'm not so good with the tech stuff. That's you and Light Streak's territory."

"You're gonna like this next one." Thunder Dash. He then took out a device that looked sort of like a small cannon, but, it had a holding chamber of some sort. "Now this, is an EMP launcher. What it does is it launches a strong electromagnetic pulse, which is enough to make a driver lose control of their car and it also jams that driver's communication." Thunder Dash explained.  

"Well," Red responded, eyeing the device carefully, "An EMP I wouldn't mind."

The whole scene felt like a James Bond and Q kind of scene. In other words, Red was quite excited to finally put his new toys to use.

"What does this button do?" he asked, pressing the giant red button that said "DO NOT PRESS." The device shot out a massive EMP pulse, ignited the fuel cell, and blew Detrot sky high.

"Oh, that's what it does..."

Thunder Dash then moved to the last and final gadget. "Now these, are what are called jump springs. They are controlled by a rigging system connected to a lever, mounted near the gear selector. When you pull the lever, your springs will contract. When you push the release button on the lever, your springs will rebound and send your car flying into the air. Don't worry, the shock absorber system that comes with the jump springs provide a landing that won't damage your suspension nor your car body." Thunder Dash explained. 

 

"That's all I've got for now, I could stay with y'all and be your official weapons designer if you'd like." Thunder Dash offered.

There was a shout coming from the distance. "Wait!" A green pegasus came flying into the garage out of breath and landed next to Blast. He then looked up at the others. "Who's this crowd?"

"Oh, sorry. Everyone, this is Light Streak. He's going to be working alongside Thunder here to make the technology process faster."

"Nice to meet you all." Light said in a happy tone. He walked up to Thunder. "What do you say, Thunder? Want to work together?"

"Hay yeah! The fun has been doubled!" Thunder Dash stated excitedly as a couple of electric sparks flew from his body.(OOC: Luna reference).

 

"What's up Light, I'm Nitro Spark, the leader of this crew. Did you hear? A gang is trying to conquer Detrot and we've got to take'em down. Sounds easy right? Wrong. The Detrot Police force is now against us, so we cannot make any mistakes." Nitro Spark explained.

Light let out a slight 'heh.' "Adventures aren't any fun if they're too easy." Light said. "Me and Blast are never ones for making mistakes. And I guess you guys aren't ones for making mistakes, either."

Blast chimed in. "Yeah. No worries, Nitro. We got this if we stick together." Blast said.

"Exactly!" Thunder Dash stated just like Applejack would say. 

 

"Well, then, shall we get prepared for the sneak in?" Nitro Spark asked. He was very eager to go into the hideout. With the extra help from Thunder Dash and Light, they would surely be stronger than the gang. "But what if they've got what we've got?" Nitro Spark suddenly thought. "'Cause the thing with gangs...they steal stuff." Nitro Spark continued to think.

"Spear hooks," Red thought aloud, "You know, those things that come out of the side of your car, latches onto an opponent, and allows you to have mercy on said opponent? Why don't we have those? I'm sure we'll need some sort of similar weapon to fight the gangs."

(Speed Racer was a horrid movie, but did have interesting bits)

Thunder Dash turned to Red Talon. "Problem with spear hooks is that you've got to manually throw your opponent off by steering in a certain direction. This might make you loose control and crash. I've seen it happen and it wasn't a pretty sight." Thunder Dash explained.

Blast just smirked. "So what? We'll just have to be at the top of our game. Or Light and Thunder could whip us up a few fancy gadgets so we can top whatever junk they have." Stephan insisted. "However you want to approach it, Nitro. I can work under nearly any circumstance."

"Junk? Don't be so cocky now? These gangs can sometimes come up with very smart gagets. For example, they might come up with something that can make a car easily, I mean easily spin out. But, fortunately, I've got what is called a "reverse transmission" to counter that gaget. Nitro Spark has one in his Saleen. With a reverse transmission, you have the same gears and same top speed as driving forward...in reverse. It's very useful for when you spin out." Thunder Dash explained.

Rut-Light was amazed at this ponies know-how of this type of equipment, but he wanted to see how they worked; because seeing is believing.  Still leaning next to his car he spoke, "Alright, sounds really cool...but how do they work?  I know somepony already asked you what they do but I want to see how it preforms against actual targets or how it just acts.  What i'm asking for is a demonstration, if you don't mind of course."

"Okay, meet us at the abandoned parking lot behind the garage. We will get ready and show you how these work. Nitro, you've got an extra pair of wheels don't ya?" Thunder Dash asked. "Yes I do." Nitro Spark replied. "Good, 'cause you'll need them after the demo." Thunder Dash said. Thunder Dash's car was parked behind the garage, a 2008 Dodge Charger V8 Hemi.

Red did have technical know-how, but had no experience installing these toys into his stock car. He probably could do it himself, but he feared he'd do it wrong, causing the weapons to not function as expected.
