planning Pony Trek: The Neighxt Generation

This is gonna be a Star Trek spoof, but I don't know much about Star Trek lore. :|

If there are any trekies who could give me some ideas, or really anypony who could, that would be great.

The basic idea would be to have a starship and join a faction, get some phasers, and war with other factions.
