@,

"True, True. Suppose I could simply find a book or scroll about it... i`m sure atleast one Zebra has publshed something of the basics." He mumbled to himself. Knowing how to make medicine, or use the herbs during a trip... if his wing ever healed long enough for distant travel, that would be incredibly useful. Still, this was all food for thought later on. He needed to make sure the colt would be fine. He noticed that most of the 'terminally injured' patients that had been in before them had been taken away already. "shouldn`t be much longer..." he mumbled.

@

As if on cue, the mare at the desk beckoned for them, and Vincent stood and helped the injured colt onto his feet. "Here, i`ll help you walk." he said, leading him towards the desk. He spoke to the mare for a moment, who informed him they needed a name for the patient before they could accept him. "erm... well..." he glaned at the acid green stallion "Here`s hoping you didn`t hurt yourself too much not to remember your own name..."

Sabel laughed, trying to wave off their concern but accepting the help anyways.  "Just a couple mugs, really.  I have no idea what I ordered though.  I'm fine, just a little dizzy's all."

The griffon belched and laughed again.  "See?  Already feeling better...  Just remind me to not take strange drinks from ponies I've just met next time."  She winks at Wind as she says this, trying to stand up.  Unfortunately she tried to stand on her sore leg first, her mind already clouded.  She started to tip forward, quickly grabbing Wind and Percy for support.  Oh jeeze, just a drunken stumble.  C'mon Sabel, you're supposed to be tougher then this.

Glacier smiled as the mortally wounded ponies were quickly dealt with and Acid was called up to the desk. Before she even had a chance to move, Vincent had taken Acid to the desk. Glacier followed behind and, after seeing that Vincent has the situation under control, she said, "He seems like he'll be fine now. I'm going to leave and see if I can find other stuff to do. It's hardly going to look good when the main thing I write on my after-rehabilitation report is that I carried an unconscious pony through a busy city. Although, if you need more bodies carried just find and I'll happily be a corpse carriage again."

Without waiting for a reply, Glacier left the hospital and began to move quickly around the streets of Manehatten, looking for someone she could interact with that wasn't carrying an unconscious body. 'Hm... doesn't seem like anypony's by themselves. Socialising is much harder work then they said it was.'

After reading for a bit, Sunset realized just how hungry she was. She hadn't eaten this morning, and the only foods on the long train ride had to be paid for, and she hadn't had quite enough bits. She put her book in her tattered old saddlebag and grabbed her bit sack to count. She had about four bits left over; enough for something cheap from a cafe and maybe a night at an inn, but the latter would be a waste as she needed food more than she needed a comfortable mattress and warm covers. Besides, she would be fine sleeping in the alley. She'd been fine on PBI, she would be okay here.

The small orange Pegasus got up and took to the air again, alighting of the same low cloud as she had earlier. She saw a sign for a cafe not too far away and drifted to the ground again, before setting off in that direction.

When she was close, she picked up her pace, her hunger and desire for decent food fueling her. She turned a corner, and bumped right into somepony coming the opposite way.

@

((you did say Glacier was just wandering the streets, so  I hope that's fine. Bumping into someone or somepony coming up to her are pretty much the only ways Sunset's going to talk to some pony - she's too timid to start up conversation with somepony she doesn't know.))

Sunset immediately back-pedaled from surprise, but her hind legs were going too slow for her forelegs and she fell down. She hid her face behind her mane and tried to stand up.

"I-I-I'm so s-sorry, i-I didn't see you there..." she stuttered in an attempt to apologize.

Glacier was just rounding a corner when she bumped into a small orange pegasus. Before she could completely register the incidence, the pegasus had already started apologising to her. "Meh," Glacier said with a blank expression. "I've been hit and tripped over other things today. There is no need to apologise." Glacier's eyes scanned the pegasus for any info about her but one thing caught her eye before she'd even started.

'Oh yes! How handy and lucky is that? Just when I wanted something to put in the after-rehabilitation report thay doesn't involve knocked-out bodies, this little thing comes along. She is of use to me. She seems shy though. I let her talk to me at her own pace.'

Sniffing at the remains of the drink which had previously been in front of Sabel, Symphony wrinkled her nose. "Well thats not Cider..." She said with a grin, kneeling slightly so that the Griffin could lean on her for support. "I think theres a few couches over there that I saw. Lets get you more comfortable."

((

I let her talk to me at her own pace.'

good luck with that after they stop talking today... unless you make friends...))

Sunset stared down at her hooves and shifted uncomfortably as she felt the pressure of the pony staring at her with that blank expression.

"I-i-if you're sure..." she mumbled. She was surprised that the pony hadn't left yet. She seemed to want to talk, or something.

Just say something! Even if just to get away. Just standing in silence makes it worse.

"U-umm... S-so... wh-where were you headed?" She immediatelly realized that the unicorn might not want to tell her, and blushed, hiding behind her mane again. "That is, i-if you don't mind me a-asking..." she stammered, trying to make conversation to diffuse the awkwardness.

They carried the other Griffon over to the couches, and sat her down. "There ya go." He grinned at Wind, "Maybe we should sit hear with her so nopony else carries her off." he laughed, "And maybe we'll have time to 'dance' some more." He tilted his head, raised an eyebrow, and smiled.

Sabel laughed and stretched out on the couch, her tail flicking back and forth lazily.  "If you're gonna be doing the same dance ya were earlier, get your own couch...  It was weird enough watching from the bar."  She flexes her talons slowly, a wide grin on her beak.  "If ya want to, I don't think ya have to worry about anypony carrying me off.  I'm a big girl after all."

With a wink at the two of them she flexes her wings, trying to get into a more comfortable position.  I need to clear my head...  Ordering that drink was definitely a bad idea.  "But if one of ya wanted to get me a glass of water first, that'd be cool.  Hehe."

Glacier could feel that the pegasus was distressed so she decided to do what she'd do when she meets a frightened animal in the wild. Kneeling down slightly, Glacier smiled slightly before answering Sunset's question. "I haven't really got anything planned for today," Glacier replied in a hushed tone. "I just see where I end and what happens. And of course I don't mind you asking questions. Everypony has an equal right to the answers."

"Okay, Give me a sec." Symphony said, prodding the female with her tail. "Don't go disappearing on me!"

Turning to Percy, she shook her head, still grinning at the situation. "I'll get her some water, keep an eye on her."

She turned and picked her way through the ponies who were dancing or just standing around and ordered a glass of water from the bar.

Vincent blinked as he was... rather abruptly left. He sighed, having hoped to make plans to meet up with the mare later: she seemed rather interesting. He looked at the Stallion he`d been helping. "Hey, i`m sure they`ll get you taken care of... please, be careful. I`m gonna head up. Good luck." he said, turning to leave. He wasn`t quite sure what to do now... he supposed his original plan of heading to the library was still open... but between meeting a thief mare, and another mare that was rehabilitating from some sort of mental condition, doing something like that felt so... bland. So, he took to the streets, looking for some sort of activity to be done.

Percy kept an eye on the other Griffon and sat down next to her, careful not to sit on her paws or tail. He was patient to wait for Wind Symphony to return to the couches.

"Hey Sabel," He cleared his throat a bit, "You feeling okay?" He chuckled lightly to himself. She looked like she would fall onto the floor at any moment.

Sonny was still a bit slow to react to her outburst, courtesy of the half bottle he drank.

"Huh? Uh yeah, um... haven't gotten to really go anywhere yet... I just went up to my room and worked *hiccup* a bit on my next record."

He tilted his head at her a bit, wondering why she seemed so afraid, or worried.

"But yeah, just got back from Mexicolt. Awesome tour. Brought up a few specialty bottle of fine tequila from there, too." The pony added, then looked around wondering when their food would arrive.

"I might have to join you on your next tour." Neghlie said with a wink.

The food soon came and they both ate, however, Neghlie was much faster to finish than Sonny. After they finished their meal, they exited the diner and partook in a cigarette each. The smoke seemed to drift around their faces and made the entire scene feel mysterious.

"So about that tequila, when am I getting a taste?" Neghlie said, again with a flirtatious tone.

Sonny now seemed to be the one on the defensive, alerted by her new bahavior.

"Um, the tequila... Half a bottle is still up in my room... I suppose, if you want to come now and have some..." The stallion said, again adjusting his black frames, somehow able to discern her flirtatious attitude.

Sabel just laughed, flicking one of her wings at the other griffon.  "I'm fine, really....  I just probably shoulda started with somethin' a little weaker for my first drink, huh?"  She rearranges herself to lean in next to Percy, a teasing grin on her beak.  "Don't worry about me though - what's the deal with you and Sparkles?  She your type?  You seemed to really be hitting it off."

She turned to glance towards the bar before quickly elbowing Percy.  "Spill it quick, I think she's comin' back!"

Percy did exactly that,  he quickly spoke out how he felt.

"Well, we only just met...so I dunno if it's too early, or what...but I find it pretty cute when she's uptight...something I never thought I'd say. Then again, I found it pretty cute as well when started to cut loose a bit." He shrugged, "Dunno. I think I'm starting to like her."

Sabel just nodded as she leaned back.  "Well, if you ever want me to get out of your feathers so you can spend some time alone with her...  Just say the word and I'll get lost."  She stifled a yawn, trying to play off as though she wasn't concerned.  "I'm used to flying solo anyways, it's no big deal."  She turned to glance at the bar, though it's tough to tell if she's seeing how Wind is doing or contemplating another drink.

"There! Sorry, you wouldn't belive easily distracted the bartenders in this place are." Setting the glass down, Symphony looked over the pair of chatting Griffins.

Sabel didn't look quite as drunk as she had thought, had something else caused her to trip then? She thought back to the race and almost frowned. "What did I miss?"

With a smile, Sabel reached for the glass of water.  "Thanks Sparkles.  Not much, just Percy making sure I wasn't gonna pass out or something on him.  As if."  The griffon rolled her eyes and grinned, stretching out again.  She drank from the glass of water slowly, hoping it would help clear her head.

Sunset looked down at her hooves.

"I-if you're sure..." she mumbled.

Oh, just let her come with you... it would be rude to just say "okay, bye!" and walk away.

Listening to herself, she looked up at the mare.

"U-um... I'm going to a n-nearby cafe'... W-would you like t-to join me?" she asked timidly.

'I may as well go with her. Might make some sort of acquaintanceship.'

Glacier smiled before replying to Sunset's offer. "Sounds good to me," Glacier said. "I won't be eating anything though. I'm not fond of the sorts of things they serve in those sorts of places."

This was true. An extended period of living in the Everfree Forest had changed her diet from the conventional pony diet to a more carnivorous one. This made the early months in the Institute hellish as her body struggled to keep down the meals she was given.

"Heh, exactly!" Symphony smirked back at her, only a small amount of the unwelcome concern she felt leaking onto her features. "How you feeling? Not lost any feathers yet?"

So making friends was going far too well - considering that hadn't been her goal at all. Also, starting to realise she might have a 'thing' for another species left her feeling... somewhat concerned.

"I think she's good...thanks for getting her that water." He smiled, and looked back at at Sabel, "So...sure nopony put something in your drink? Or can you just not handle it?" He grinned, and looked back at Wind, "And uh...thanks for coming along tonight." He smiled, "It was fun." He chuckled, "Now we just foalsit Sabel or I can take her home...where are you staying, by the way, Sabel?"

It was a quiet afternoon in Two Scoops.  The ice cream shop where Raspberry Swirl worked was having a bit of a quiet spell - things might pick up later on, towards the end of the day, when everypony would get out of work and want to indulge in something sweet, or after dinner when dessert was on everypony's mind.  But now?  Things were quiet.

Raspberry Swirl hummed to herself as she idly cleaned off the tables, using magic to move the wet rag around each table as it wiped off any spilled bits of ice cream or pieces of cones from the lunch rush.  She hoped somepony, anypony, would come in and break up her boredom - it was only her second day working at Two Scoops, and she was itching to make some new friends here in Manehatten.  She was still new to the city, and felt a little bit lonely, thinking about her friends back in Ponyville and how she missed them.

"Can't let myself get too depressed," Raspberry Swirl said to herself.  "Besides, I'll meet all sorts of ponies here.  It's an ice cream shop.  Who doesn't like ice cream?"
