So I just watched some guys top 5 Mario games video and I was wondering... what are your guy's top 5?

 

(I know there is a thread for favorite Mario games but this is top 5, completely different )

 

Mine are as follows

 

1. Super Mario Sunshine

2. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

3. Super Mario Galaxy

4. Super Mario Bros 3

5. Mario Kart: Double Dash

Uh here we go...this is going to get weird..

 

1. Mario Party 4 - I have an obsession with the Mario Party series and this has my favorite mini-games.
2. Luigi's Mansion -  Never beat it but it's still awesome.
3. Mario Kart Double Dash - It was fun...
4. Super Mario Sunshine - Didn't play much of it, but it was fun.
5. Anything/None

I don't really like the Mario Franchise so I just went with some ones I actually played and enjoyed.

As you can probably see, I am mostly into the 3D platformers, even though I thought Super Mario 3D Land was severely disappointing. Super Mario Sunshine is my first because of the perfect difficulty, great level design and very fun gameplay. Super Mario World was the first video game I ever played, and I still get some fun and nostalgia out of it. Mario Kart Wii is my favourite Mario Kart game, but mainly because it had bikes. I like bikes. Bikes are awesome. I'm also glad that bikes have returned for Mario Kart 8, so that's a buy from me.

Yeah I've been glad that it's been getting better reception in recent years. Sad to think that when it came out people though it was bad. Now that I think it did almost exactly what the Wind Waker did. Just like the Wind Waker it was judged quite poorly but still had an awesome cult following and then just gained popularity until in the recent years where it finally got the recognition it deserved. Aw Yeah

I'm not that big of a fan of Mario, and these are pretty much all I've played. I'm planning on picking up TTYD, Luigi's Mansion, and Sunshine soon, though.

The Mario RPGs are the only ones I care to put in any lists of the sort. I'm not a huge Mario fan and the RPGs are the only ones with any personality because of the need of more characters and they did a great job of making very interesting ones. Not a single non-RPG in the Mario franchise will ever reach the top of the list but Galaxy is a close runner-up at least.
