The Rhyming Game

BizzarePony

Recommended Posts

I think that it is finally time

For forum games where we must rhyme

If your skill is great, it shall be boasted

Match your rhyme to the last one posted

An example, I will surely show,

Check it out down here below

And one last thing before we go,

Orange, purple and such? Just no.

Example:

Poster 1: This game is fun and hard to hate...

Poster 2: BizzarePony is really great.

I really want to eat some cake...

Poster 3: Alas, my friend, I cannot bake.

Good luck, my friends, the game begins...

I shalt leave thou all in my wake,

for I am an archaic pony;Princess Luna,to date!

Thy master has demanded that thy follow in suit,

of thy first post that he mentions,to boot!

So now,I shalt let thy thread commence,

For I am just a bystander,nothing less!

I expect cool rhymes to sprout from thee;

Or such an archaic pony would be mad! Hee hee!

We do suppose, my very good sir,

That this is perfect, as it were.

This game, we see, will rise to be grand,

And spread out far across the land

Of pony lovers everywhere.

We love them too, We do not care.

The royal we doth be how we shall post,

Thine tounge shall follow to the most

Of thy skill with words, and do not fail,

For we shall send thee straight to jail.

And passeth go, thou shan't do so.

200 dollars? How about no.

We wish that we could rhyme some more,

But now 'tis thy turn, put our jaw on the floor.

I must wholeheartedly approve

Of a game with such groove

As poetry is, and for good reason,

The best art for many a person.

Let's take our time, make up our minds,

Rather than rush ahead, like bats blind,

So that, whatever post is being read,

Nopony would sound like a dummyhead.

Good to see somepony who loves poems, too;

Sadly, this improvisation is the best I could do.

This thread is to my heart like warm sunlight;

So, for my own sake, I hope I did this right.

(I just noticed: Each poster is supposed to just put TWO verses: one rhyming with the previous poster's second verse, one for the next poster to rhyme with.)

Fun fun fun, let our dearest Princess Trollestia raise the sun. Edit: And let there between our sun and moon be no factions.

Then in the sun I'll try and find some gemstones for a purple dragon indeed,

those of a kind he loves to eat.

all of you squable for them just, get in a row
for there are plenty to put on and be admired

but are gems really all there is to be desired?

I peek in through the open door...
A rhyming game?  what fun!  Oh joy!
I guess it's now time to employ
my skill at crafting lines of prose
that are as good as even those
that sit above this humble post.
Mind you, I'm not here to boast
or brag about the rhyming art
that floods my brain and warms my heart.
Instead, I come here to have fun.
And with that said, my rhyme is done.

let us proceed this time for bigger span
for days and months and years to come
but let me add some ponies to the pan
since to this forum this game has begun

once ponies of the earth, magic and sky
fought with eachother to control the land
their hatred brew
and bigger grew
it brought forth many a misery and cry
eternal winter as resault will stand

thankfuly tis' no more the case
hearthswarming eve hate mannaged to erase

And forge for us a stronger base
of friendship, love, and joy to all.
Even today, we heed the call
of joy and rapture, glee and bliss,
while making sure we do not miss
the true point of this holiday
when ponies of all kinds will say,
"May love and friendship never fall;
This we wish for one and all."

And thus concludes our Hearthswarming tale.
Another story, please, let us not fail.

another one i'll give you though its pale
comparing it with legends over ale
this story comes from far more recent times
but its moral is as tall as the great pines

it started with a humble rock-farm girl
who saw a rainbow blazing in the sky
and with a dragon's birth by magic swirl
sent by the pony protegie's last try

a unicorn who's magic took her far
her tallent to discover as gems shone
a city girl returning to her farm
while a rainbow the path shown

lets not forget the pegasus thats falling
to land among big wonders if you will
only there to discover her true calling
to animals she talks their needs to fill

last but not least the one the dots connected
(don't tell her i refered to her as last)
she loves to race and her actions affected
all previous 5 i mentioned with a blast
for she's the one that same rainbow created
and at that moment when that die was cast
their cutie marks all 6 obtained though seperated
a bond thus it created that would last

though at the time they couldn't know the fact
even before they meet, all ponies interact

in ways they cannot fathom or distract

Yet the passage of time is but abstract.

And it is thus our fables heroes meet
as they walk along a bustling street
or visit shop and farm and glade.
But, nearby lurks a troublesome shade
that will seize the sovereign that wears the crown
and spread darkness and fear throughout the town.

Their duty clear, our heroes race
and thus begins the epic chase
through the forest, dark and cold,
ever onward, remaining bold
and braving woods so twisted and scary,
and solving a fashion problem that became quite hairy.
Making a friend from a fearsome foe,
onward our adventurers go
across the gorge, until at last
they reach the home of rulers past.

As they explore the palace of stone,
one pony ventures off alone
to combat the nightmare that plagues the land.
But, just as defeat appears close at hand,
Harmony arrives to save the day
and drive the evil nightmare away
to reveal the form of another one,
who moves the moon a her sister moves the sun.

Having vanquished the evil with a magical spark,
our six heroes will now embark
and deal with dangers without delay
to protect Equestria for another day.

What happens next is up to you.

i'd love this tale to follow through
but i don't have the time alas
a banner i'm designing and its due
for its event in 5 days will comes to pass

i may not write a tale this time around
i'll play again once i am done
but i'll be listening the tales that come
from others in this game they're quite profound

Your reasoning is very sound

For now, I suggest that we play
as if we talk like this every day.
I encourage all those lurking near
to try and craft a rhyme in here.
It's not all that tough to do,
just release the Zecora inside of you.

Rhyme the last word in this line.

Damn... all these posts are mighty fine.

I spent such long time away from this place,

That I forgot the creativity and utter grace

Displayed by the members of this website.

It can be hard to find words that fit just right

To make the entire thing flow smoothly enough;

With just a quatrain or two, it's already tough.

So when I see replies with a whole epic tale,

I can't help but think; "my replies just pale!"

The feeling of inadequacy is quite hard to bear;

Until I remember the poems I wrote elsewhere,

Then I feel better much about my poetry skills. :)
