I've had no Depression moments since I started seeing the show, but Im sure "Smile, Smile, Smile" will help me. The show in general as well!

Im sorry about your grandfather too, Marco.

This show is like the joker from Batman. It says: "Let's put a SMILE on that face!"

Except it means it and does it in a much more benign way...

Death's just a part of life, and from my point of view, it's only temporary. But the individual will certainly be missed until that reunion...

But certainly, I'd never want to have people sad because I died. I'd prefer they remembered my life and learned from it than be sad about my death. And by that, I mean carry on what I want to give to the world; a bright, excited optimism about the future, and a belief that with cooperation, patience and hard work we can overcome anything.

I'd want people to carry on the attitude of my life, not sink into sorrow that it's over. And I'm sure most people would want the same thing. And if they wouldn't want that then they're not an individual that's worth mourning over, anyways :P

Learn from the past, live in the present, and hope for the future. One life has ended, one history is written, but countless more are only just beginning...

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather, I hope you're ok.

I haven't really gotten into a depressed mood since I starting watching, that was several months ago so its looking less like a coincidence.

It helps me deal with anger too. There are a lot of things that get me annoyed, I rarely react but the episodes and especially the songs make it easier to stay calm.

Well, before the show, I was an asocial, always sad and anxious person who never talked and had only a few close friends. But now, I'm still kind of anxious and get a little sad, but I'm so much more social and happy. So I think this show has helped me become a different person, in a good way :)

The day after my grandfather died and the new episode aired, I was really upset, thinking about him constantly, but I think its ironic that the day after this happens that a song was realsed (officially any way) that I listened to allot, and honestly it made me feel allot better, hasbro never ceases to amaze me

Has MLP ever brought you out of a dark cloud, made you feel a bit better?

Oh yea. Before mlp my life was a living nightmare. I moved in with my biological dad to get away from it but I had to get my lil bro. into mlp because his dad (my step dad) just kidnapped him after the restraining order my mom had expired. They're going to court for it and somehow I'm still mixed up in all this. So he's the only person I can't ever forgive. I owe mlp my life actually. Edited by ScarletDagger

Whenever I'm feeling sad or lonely, or I get into a fight with a friend or loved one, I always watch a few episodes of mlp. Not only do they cheer me up, make me laugh and smile, but they remind me that I'm not alone and have people that love me, and to not let stupid things ruin that magic between us :) ~

I am sorry to hear about your grandfather.

As for me, considering I have Borderline Personality Disorder as well as possibly clinical depression and a whole host of emotional issues, this show has been nothing BUT beneficial for me. True, at times it has been...invading my brain too much, even distracting me from something else I perhaps should be working on, but that's not really any different from any other entertainment I enjoy, and something I can easily get past by retightening my focus on what I should be doing. The uplifting nature of the show has had a positive impact on my mood, on my general state of being, and especially on my ability to make friends. I've made more friends and had more social interaction in the past couple of months than I did in the past seven years prior.

I'm really sorry about your grandpa.

And same here, even though I wasn't in depression, smile sure brightened up my day. And I sing giggle at the ghostly when I'm scared.

(More specifically after i read creepypastas and I'm alone -_- )

Yeah, as a matter of fact it does have that effect ! Honestly, my life hasn't been super screwed up, but I can say that it improved greatly after the introduction of the show. If I ever have a bad day or things just don't seem to be in my favor, MLP always helps seems to make the day a bit better :P

He passed away? :( Well, I hope you guys let him go in peace...and while I do feel really bad about this, I have one thing to say:

Every time you frown, you make Pinkie Pie cry. :(

OF COURSE MLP HAS HAD AN IMPACT ON MY LIFE.

I don't seem like a depressive loner anymore, do I? :D

Individuals aren't immortal - but the flame of positive influence and positive nature of social bonds, ignite the next generation of bonds with a similar flame, and so on and so forth, so if we continue to carry it forward, the "fire of friendship", can be immortal.

The key to keeping that fire burning is to remember and live on this one principle: It's better, more important to love than to be loved ;)

It was the songs that hit me hard. Especially the smile song. Complete Tera Jerker for me. The only song that made me cry wishing that my life wasn't a complete wreck.

I was constantly hit with waves of depression off and on all year last year. A depression brought upon by a recent realization that all the people I have grown up with, now have kids/married/know what they want in life, yet here I felt left behind, still clueless on what I should do to make use of my existence. I started watching MLP around the time when one of those waves had hit again, and MLP helped cured it.

Those waves have returned from time to time, but to alot lesser extent....until late last month. I'll spare you the details but it involved a girl that I had totally fallen for during the last few months. Stuff happened, and feeling like an idiot for blindly thinking that I even had the smallest chance, I was sent into my worst wave of depression yet.

Thanks to ponies, I was able to get my mind off of her, feel alot better, and move on with life.
