-the NSA is probably stealing all your information

Not probably, and not stealing.

The information input is given freely and put up publicly. Even in the FB terms it says they're sharing that information with advertisers and government agencies.

Just like Google, they have contracts for doing this. Its public knowledge, and amazing so many people don't know that its happening.

They announced these contracts like 8 years ago....

I think neither.....It's a site that is allows for companies to acess your personal information and use it at will....Of course, Facebook isn't the only one doing that, any and all social media sites do it. How else do they get MILLIONS of dollars (we're talking bigger than advertisement endorsement deals here).  It's downright dispicable.

On the personal side, however, it's just a opening your fridge looking inside for a juicy well-made burger, but find that there isn't one in your fridge.  You close it, but later that day, you open it again just in case one magically appeared...of course nothing like could happen so your endevour is pretty fruitless. That's social media in a nutshell....

Ah, yes. You're right. I did consent to those things. So as an edit, I will say: it's shameful that Facebook and Google would require your permission to transfer your data to the gubmint as a prerequisite for using their services.

If anyone is looking for a search engine that doesn't commit any of these Orwellian shenanigans, try DuckDuckGo. It has its limitations but it's an ethically sound company.
