So I am asking you, what are your prsonal least favorite episodes of Spongebob here's mine.

 

The Splinter- Just an 11 minute gross fest

 

Boating Buddies and Choir Boys- Both of these just made me fee lsorry for Squidward and hate Spongebob

 

A Pal for Gary- Spongebob was acting more stupid than usual

 

Atlantas Squarepantas and Truth or Squae- Just hyped up specials with little substance

Basically any episode after Spongebob The Movie... I've heard that the original plan was to end the show there (Which would've been an amazing ending if you ask me), but instead they had the brilliant idea of making more crappy episodes for money because little kids will watch anything

Any episode with Plankton actually making money, because we all know that his ego will get in the way and blow it for about 5 months, then start the whole process over again.

 

Fungus among Us was absolutely HORRIBLE.

This list goes on, and let's say that the writers stopped trying. Since, all of the good writers are pretty much suffering. But I digress, Squidward is the only character with remaining characteristics.

I agree with that. I mean the movie would've been the perfect series finale. But you know Nickelodeon acting worst than Hasbro with money. It eve nleft me confused at the time. Like at the end of the movie, Spongebob becomesw manager of the Krusty Krab 2, yet in later episodes, he's not see nas manager. Continutity, what's that?

Oh how could I forget about House Fancy. With that imfamousscene of Squirdward getting his tonenail crushed in a very graphic way was sickening.

This thread could be easily answered with just one sentence.

The entire series went downhill after the release of the film, I believe Steven Hillenburg intended for the series to end after the film was released, however, after the movie, he was put to the position of executive director, and therefore the series continued, but various writers left, and then everything went to garbage.

So in other words, anything after 2004 is terrible.

Anything after the movie. I mean, every season (1-4) before the movie was perfection in a model. But after the movie it was just a crap fest.

Namely because the episodes that came out after the movie have a different writer, and not a very good one at that, well, maybe he'd be okay writing for like the Twilight Zone or something but some of those episodes are really dark for a children's cartoon.

I agree that the first three seasons were entertaining enough for me to own the Dvds for them. And I can still watch them and still find enjoyment out of them

Gonna go ahead and throw this out there, but Housw Fancy deserves credit for being one of the very, very, VERY few new episodes that doesn't completely screw over Squidward in the end 

 

But I digress, pretty much 98% of the show's episodes after the movie range from bad to downright abyssmal, but Face Freeze, The Splinter and A Pal for Gary are the cream of the crop of shit for destroying whatever ounce of hope I had for this show. Also Atlantis Squarepantis was awful for such hype, but it doesn't come close to the disappointment for the Best Day Ever, hyping for 2 months with a 24 hour marathon only for a 11 minute episode about his "Best Day Ever" which only consisted of his everyday activities

Pretty much all the episodes after the movie were terrible. There were a few good ones in 2004-2005, but after that, I can't think of a really good one.

This is why all shows need to be made with plots in mind. Because even though your show is good, and you love your characters, and it becomes immensely popular, your show will be screwed over in the end for monetary gain through merchandising a familiar character to parents and kids. Your show is too easy to bastardise; you let it be too easy to bastardise.

So. Once the creative integrity ran out. (This has happened with FOP as well). 

After "Have You Seen This Snail?". Or Season 4. (I'll forgive Karate Island.)

Spongebob is a fantastic example why, as Lance said above, plots and development are actually important to some degree. Sure, development for a talking sponge would have been difficult, but we have seen the result of the lacking of such things. Pretty much everything after the movie was pretty terrible, but I have to give a special nod to The Splinter and Karate Island. Really though, if I could remember the names of all of the newer episodes, I would have a lot more to list in the horrendous category.

I don't think every post-movie episode is bad. In fact, the one that I can't remember the name of in which Spongebob and Patrick go to Gloveworld to ride the new roller coaster is one of my favorites (Roller Cowards, I think it was called?). Heck, excluding the toenail scene, I think House Fancy is pretty funny.

 

But, the absolute worst Spongebob episode, in my opinion, is, without a doubt, The Splinter. It's a disguisting waste of eleven minutes and I absoutley hate it in every sense of the word.

The spongebob episodes nowadays are so bad. Just the most recent ones are terrible. Why can't they have humor back in the early years? Very disappointing, but these ones I can't even watch. (sorry about the speeding)

I've totally forgotten what my least favorite episode of Spongebob was. I used to really dislike A Pal For Gary, but I watched it again recently and didn't find it to be that bad. Post-season 3 Spongebob isn't horrible to me in general. The new episodes are just something I'd only watch if I was really bored.

 

And I like MoBros' other stuff better than that countdown... He completely regretted making it and just about everything about it is now outdated.
