Strong Copper 126 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 Just to clear up a point, is the current conversation between Lautrec and Derpy happening at the same time the Caravan is approaching Manehatten, or is those happening at different times? Actually i think that that caravan is attacking one of the merk camps, but you and some other specialists are going into the city. I give no guarantees but that was my impression of it. Anneal 2,193 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 I want to meet Quickfix already...but she's a factionless Flim/Flam unicorn. The Earthborns would maim her. Tricksters Pride 100 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 (edited) @~Crystal Fire~ "Violet just nodded at Shadow before looking ahead at Eve. She slithered a little quicker until she came up to the mare a few feet away. "Hey..." She said, giving Eve a small wave before continuing. "I was just curious to know if you had any idea what we'd be doing at the forward scout camp...I'm just a little curious since...well...we didn't get much information before hoof so." She shrugged. "I'm Violet by the way." She said, giving Eve a small smile. "Sorry for being so...disapproving back there..." She said, thinking back to the feast before shaking her head. "Just got agitated." She said." " "Just got agitated." She said." You know i get the strangest feeling that was Shadow's fault, and i'm highly amused by it. (Yah i'm a dick but its kinda funny.) That One Techpriest You Used To Know 2,285 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 Just wanna make sure I'm getting this right. There is one group going to attack manehattan which is what Lila and Lautrec are asking to join in on right? And if that is the case...could we slow it down and wait for the group to leave when everyone is finished in the hideout...or am I missing something? Just to clear up a point, is the current conversation between Lautrec and Derpy happening at the same time the Caravan is approaching Manehatten, or is those happening at different times? They are not attacking Manehattan. They are attacking one of the Southern Mercenary Camps. Why would I attack Manehattan- or any major city- without at least three of you PC fellows? And yes, it is happening at the same time. And, guys... I made the PM for a reason.

Strong Copper 126 November 12, 2013 Share November 12, 2013 If the mare Myopia doesn't post before I post as Lautrec next, I'll have Myopia pick up the 'out cold mare' and take her back to the Performance Hall with the intent of taking her to its sick bay until proper medical help can arrive to take care of her. I would like to keep his story going after all.

Still a bit beyond our time in EQDivided but still rather impressive. http://www.deviantart.com/art/Earth-Pony-Sniper-Dev-WIP-413309757 To be honest, the sniper would be impractical to most troops. Think about carry a cannon-size object on your back. True, Earth ponies may be able to carry that, but it's so large and difficult to carry that it would do more harm than good. You're basically giving out your position with that thing on you. That is very interesting. I was think of have a crossbow mounted on top of a pony that went over the head but I realized it would be very difficult to reload. But with a it gun would definitely work. But it wouldn't work with an arquebus of course. Crossbows are possible, though they don't need to be over the head. I would still recommend it should be used by pegasi and unicorns since it requires less strain than have complicated contrivances attached to them. My own proposal: a lever trigger gun or crossbow can be hoof or shoulder attached. This would significantly cut down the ridiculous weight of the initial "whole-body" gun, and ponies who use it would be harder to find without that large, awkward thing on their backs. The projectile weapon can be directly attached to their upper hoof or shoulder. The stock would add stability and make it easier to aim with one hoof. The trigger would comfortably be located where the hoof can reach it; a lever trigger is what I prefer since it would be easier to use, though the traditional trigger can work just as fine, albeit being harder to use. For a crossbow, it would be located NEXT to the hoof attachment; loading it would be a matter of raising your hoof halfway upward with the crossbow and crossing the other hoof holding the arrow and attaching it onto the crossbow chamber. Alternatively, I thought of a closed firing system for the crossbow. The arrows will be directly thrown into the chamber from the back of the crossbow, and a lever trigger mechanism would directly push the arrow outward. This would save the somewhat difficult loading method. The lever trigger should be located on the bottom to maintain easy firing, and if there is an optic, it can be located on the side or the top. (For crossbows, it would be recommended to only have optics on closed chambered types, as having it on the side would force the user to consider parallax and trajectory, which is a difficult matter.) The weapons don't need to be magazine fed, though it is possible, even for the crossbow, as repeater crossbows were created by the Chinese in the Han Dynasty, before Europe's Middle Ages. This can work for single-shots, and wouldn't be hard to create for their technology range, which I believe is at least mid-19th century. Edit: Then again, the rifle previously mention could work, though the users would have their speed decreased greatly. I guessing you haven't read Dorado's posts. Most of his lighter weighted crossbows all can attach to his leg. He even always has one strapped to his leg at all times. His heavier weighted ones can be put over his shoulder and if needed be strapped to him as well. He even owns a couple repeater crossbows. I just said I was think of having a crossbow that could go over the head. It wouldn't be as practical but it will be very powerful since it would be much bigger. It may as well be a small ballista. Pony weapon tech range is about early 17th century. If it was 19th, we would have rifles haha. We don't even have muskets yet. Everything else though besides weapon tech... that would be very hard to say.

Everything else though besides weapon tech... that would be very hard to say. No, I'm not saying military tech, I meant overall tech, since they have flashlights, X-rays, phonographs, trains, and something that's most likely a telephone. So their commercial tech is about mid-19th to 20th century, which means they could use somewhat modern tactics, such as train cargo transportation, airship support, complex naval warfare, and usage of these vehicles in battle. I'll say they DO have the potential to make these weapons, but their weapon tech was stagnated because before the disappearance, they didn't need weapons because their country was relatively neutral and peaceful. Now imagine them attempting to rush their technology within a decade. Also, there were also repeater ballistas back then, though the magazine was generally on top, so you couldn't really aim. There weren't any springs back then, so they couldn't have placed it downward. For the pony world, bottom magazines could be plausible, but their military technology and strategies are probably outdated. Edit: They don't need to have the same technology range on Earth. Who knows, they might have semi-automatic crossbows and revolving cannons but they don't have a flintlock musket. Plus, unicorns have magic. Magic can improve their technology without the disadvantages of complex machinery. Edited November 14, 2013 by Cartophile
