What if Fluttershy had complete lapses from reality?

Okay hear me out,

 

what if when ever fluter shy when things get to dark went to some mental happy place in her mind and her whole reality in her perception got scewed.

 

I mean obviously no zombies.

 

maybe that's what happened with the manticore?  She really only did see a kitty in her mind?

She would probably think of an alternate universe, where Fluttershy is in a bad situation and she thinks of something completely different.

actually, thinking of alternate scenarios in your head is actually a technique used to over come anxiety and anxiety attacks (both of which Fluttershy has experienced) so she probably does it too.

I like this idea. I mean, my whole fandom persona is built on a similar "insane Fluttershy" concept, but I hadn't considered the "happy place" idea.

I think I'll start incorporating this into my ponysona from now on.

Didn't something like this happen in the second arc of the comics, at least every character thought she went crazy then
