Hi EveryPony!

My name is Joey, I am 23 and I Love My little Pony, it is one of the greatest things in my life right now.

A lot of my friends and family are iffy about it, but thats okay. I still love the show.

Pinkie Pie is my favorite, She reminds me of, well.. ME! I Love to make people laugh and make them smile

and just make people happy in general.. And I am quite random when it comes to conversation.

This will be my first time doing anything like this, I am going to go to Everfree Northwest this year!

I live in Tacoma Wa, so I will definitely be there.

Is their anything I need to know? Or need to do? Before I go I mean.

Glad to be here by the way. :D

Hello there! Welcome to the forums. I'm glad that you'll be making your way to Everfree. I'm guessing you've never been to a convention before, as you are concerned about what you need to know or do.

Well, I know it's an obvious question, but you've bought a badge, right? I think that's pretty much all you really need to do. Know that the con is going to be super awesome and fun, and be ready to get your pony on. There will be tons of vendors with awesome pony art, so bring some cash along. In addition, the voice talent charges an autograph fee which helps cover the cost of their appearance at the con. Last year they were $20 per voice actor, but the cost of this year has not been announced. I suspect it will be the same, but I cannot confirm that.

What would I do to receive a badge? I know its probably like 50$ or something, but where would I go to pay for it?

Here is a link where you can buy your badge - they are $50 if you preregister and that goes through June 15th - after that you'll have buy one at the door (last year they sold out during pre-reg).

So, I know their are going to be a bunch of Brony's there.. But, being new to the Convention scene, is their anything I need to watch out for? I know their are thieves everywhere, etc. but how friendly are the usual Brony crowds?

Generally, the Seattle Bronies I know are freaking awesome guys (and a few gals). I mean, we're going to get people from everywhere going to this con, so it's hard to really know. I went last year though, and people were awesome. They were really good about staying in lines, nobody seemed to get too rowdy, and I have personally found Bronies to be one of the most friendly groups of people I have ever met. Of course, there are always going to be a bad few in the bunch, and at ANY con you go to, there is going to be someone who will steal an unattended item. You seem to be aware of that, so just keep your stuff with you (I assume you're a guy and won't have a purse to watch out for :P ) and if you have to set it down, keep it in your line of sight.

But more often than not, I have had good con experiences, whether at a pony con or an Anime con or even the local comicon. We're all going to Everfree Northwest because of the love of a show of cartoon ponies, so we already have something in common. Many people enjoy the moral values of the show, and even strive to uphold them. Most people are going to a con to have fun, and our mutual liking of MLP and other animated series definitely brings us together, and it means we all already have at least one thing in common.

And if you do see something going wrong say something. The staff and security are there to take care of any problems, but it does no good to report something AFTER the convention. It's best not to get involved, but to find a nearby staff member and notify them. I don't know that we had any significant issues last year, but this year we're expecting more attendees, and though we'd like to be, the staff cannot be everywhere at once.

And make sure you bring water! Stay hydrated. You're going to be walking around a lot, using a lot of energy, and maybe even expelling sweat. And make sure you eat something before you come. Many Anime con goers like to skip things like breakfast and showers and drinking fluids, and guess what, people have passed out at other cons I've been to. I didn't hear anything like that at Everfree last year, but it is a con so there is always the possibility. Axe or deodorant is not a shower substitute. For everyone's sake, just take a 5 minute shower in the morning, please. :P That goes for every person at the con, and I hope we'll have a similar guide in the actual con book. So, just be patient in lines, don't shove anyone, all that common courtesy nice-ness and all that jazz. ;)

Advice taken. :D Yeah I am a guy, but my wife will be accompanying me. So I will be sure to watch out for her purse, I doubt she would take it though, Lots of crowd to converse.

Thanks for all the info, I generally don't mind being patient at all when in lines etc. so hopefully everypony else will be the same. :D

Thanks. ^^

And BTW, the age group of main Bronies is going to be around 20's right? I am 23, and I dont want to be alone. o 3o
