If you could be famous, would you?

Recommended Posts

If someone gave you the opportunity to become famous overnight, would you take it? Personally, I wouldn't. A lot of people who do become famous end up with depression and take drugs and a bunch of other awful things. Despite having a lot of money, the fame isn't worth it.

Discuss. :)

I would love it. But only if I got to make my own career choices. I personally want to be an actress, so getting called for a lets say Hunger Games movie would be beyond amazing. But again, I want to go my own path and be different then all the other actresses. I wouldn't be a Mary Sue, but I wouldn't make incredibly stupid choices either

No.

No because the desire to be famous found within some people has never made any sense to me.

I mean, if it's to be loved, fame isn't the way to go. If you're going to say every famous person is loved, than you've never been on the internet.

But yeahh, only because I'm happy with the way things are for me and I've never had a desire to be famous in the first place.

Tough question. I'd love the attention because I've spent so much of my life under the radar or basking in the fakest of limelights, but you're right about the fame bringing a lot of pain. I'd probably end up picking being famous, but living to regret it, unfortunately.

Rich, not famous. You don't have to worry so much about bills and little to no photographers all in your face.

No, I absolutely would not want to be famous. I've had brief brushes with it in the gaming community, and it made me absolutely miserable. Plus, I've seen what fame does to people. Makes them crazy.

Not really, I'd rather be rich instead. Fame changes the way people act, so I wouldn't want to go completely insane from the paparazzi following me everywhere.

I would want to be famous, but only for the things I do well at. Also, I wouldn't do it anyway cuz the first thing that would come to my mind if I did except was something COMPLETELY wrong. So no, I wouldn't risk it. I'd rather let my popularity take some time as I go along.

Heck no. Bad enough being mobbed by people wherever you go, even worse is all the unknown threats you might encounter or not with people stalking you or finding out where you live or who your family are.

Famous overnight? For what I wonder... :P

But no, I wouldn't want to become famous overnight, it would be awful. I would love it if I reach a point in my future career where I make something people really enjoy to that point, but I would likely create a pseudonym to avoid being identified. (A little better than Daring's attempt though, I must say...)

Well i'm not going to kid myself and say I haven't wished a life as such...but hey, don't we all?
It would be very sweet, but also, very bad. As far as I can tell, fame only corrupts those who fall under that category, and only very few get out of that. Take Miley Cyrus for example...she used to be a sweet girl, very close to her father, and was a role model for quite some time...and now look at her. She is a has been, and is becoming a never been...I understand throwing away a persona to move on into adulthood, but being provocative to prove a point is another.

In other words, fame is evil. I don't even see a point in it, it's just there. Nya.

I'd hate it. My family and I would be totally swarmed with paparazzi all the time. There'd be no privacy.

Being rich however.... That I could go with.

I'd really rather have my own life. Being famous has occurred to me as a good thing a few times, though, and.. well, I wouldn't want to have every single secret of mine also blurted out to the whole world.

Oh god no. NO WAY I would want to be famous. I hate the idea of even just being popular in my school, being famous would be much worse.

No I agree with you on that one.

I would not want to handle the stress and all the attention. It would not be a lifestyle that I would want to pursue anyways...

I'd take it in an instant. I don't have to worry about money or popularity, and at least it would feel like people actually care.

Hey, buddy. It's called a publicity stunt.

Well I wouldn't want to be famous for the same reason . Because most famous people end up doing drugs and become greedy . It is also not a reliable job . You could lose your carrier in an instant    :muffins:

I would like to be "Youtube Famous". I dislike the whole "paparazzi follow you around, signing autographs everywhere" deal. But as Youtube, similar to the Youtuber "Cryotic", where you have an alias, and everyone recognizes you for what you do, but people don't know what you look like in real life.

I'd like to be famous, but not so famous that I couldn't walk down the street for the fans. I'd like to be able to have a life outside my fame

Eh.  I'm not crazy about being famous.  For me it's just a respect and follower kind of thing that I want (it isn't for selfish reasons, there's long reasoning and a bunch of crap behind it).  So my answer would be no, I wouldn't wanna be famous.  If it happened, I guess sure, but I'm not making it my priority.

Well, I have always liked being the center of attention. =P

...Just being honest with myself there. Although, I'm not sure I'd like attention on that big of a scale. Unless it was for a greater purpose. Like if I were famous for playing one of my favorite instruments, and made that instrument more famous (they definitely deserve it!). xD

Depends, if it meant that I was rich then maybe I would like it. It depends also on what type of fame it would be. If I was famous for something great then I would like to be famous.

No.

Might bring me wealth but lots of negative things too.

rather be loved by a few good people than have 1000 of fans that think they do.
