Tried making a signature for the first time

Ok, guys

I tried getting Paint.Net, but now my computers all laggy, and when it was downloading, other stuff that I didn't even know what it was, or didn't want, started downloading

I say viruses

So, no, not getting Paint.Net, or GIMP, sticking with Paint Tool SAI, but I use MS Paint to add the font and stuff, so its all cool

So, here is a SpitFire sig!

Well, idk what the issue would be as i downloaded GIMP Myself with no problems, maybe you just got the wrong site, idk.

 

Its cool.

 

Anyways the text looks better, its just the vectors are a bit pixalated.

 

Getting better though.

Ok, so I made a quick little cute signature, the TwiDash sig!

There is not nearly enough contrast between the text and the background. And I don't like simplicity all that much unless it's done really well. Keep going and you'll improve.

 

Edit: just saw some of the other ones. Text is better but still needs to have more flow, lighting, and fx in general.

What program are you using to make them, I saw that you were looking in to getting something?

 

G.I.M.P. Is the best free program in my opinion (closest to photoshop's functionality), after you get used to it. 

 

Also, what are you putting in/doing to your signatures?

As I said before I won't get GIMP or PAINTNET because when I tried my computer got slow, and unknown stuff started downloading, viruses..

Remember what I told you about good ideas in art? The problem with your sigs is that they.....just don't look right, most of them are okay tho, but could be better. The character's pose and expression have to have to look artistically appealing, along with where they're located and how much of them is present in the signature.  Not just that, but how much space the words in the sig take up. At the very least, you clearly understand how to choose the right colors.

 

I think the best advice would be to simply look at sigs other people have made that you personally enjoy, and try and do what they do. But don't copy them, come up with your own ideas. Remember, when trying to make good art, to ask yourself, before even starting, "what would look good as a picture?"
