Sir Hugoholic 5,174 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 As title says what is the latest album/albums, You've purchased? What's Your opinion about it? Would You recommend it to someone? In my case most recent album I've bought was Swallow The Sun - Hope. Swallow The Sun is in general death/doom metal band with pretty dark music (fun fact: most of my YouTube videos are guitar covers of their songs :3 ). My favourite release by them and I've been looking for it for very long time. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes dark and heavy music with growls, if there is one band that I can compare Swallow The Sun to it can be Insomnium. They have pretty similiar style, just less technical and much more atmospheric. I suppose I can give an example of song (warning though, growls ) Of course it's not only about metal releases, any genre of music is welcome ^^
 Champion RD92 8,642 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 I think the most recent album I bought was Volition by Protest the Hero. It's pretty good, but I would honestly recommend their album Kezia more, that one is my personal favorite of theirs. "Clarity" from Volition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekBlnRYa8XY Kezia (full album): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l_V2a5ZTqQ
Neon Fire 471 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 My friend's album, Back to the Action. And if it counts, Sons of Odin, which is just a song, but the most recent song purchase I made.
Raritas 6,818 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 I recently got the new Bullet for my Valentine album, Temper Temper, for Christmas. It's really good I've also been listening to a lot of Power Metal recently. Might get a Blind Guardian album, they based an album off of Lord of the Rings
SparklingSwirls 20,962 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 I hardly buy any albums, but I did buy an Imagine Dragons Night Visions album a few months ago. I guess that could count as "recent".
 Badges

It's really good Oh man, no offense, but that album sounded really bad to me. I like their album The Poison though, that one's really good.
Raritas 6,818 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 Nightfall in Middle Earth :3 It's great album and You should really get it! Btw. it's based on Silmarillion :3 Yeah, that's it. Couldn't remember the name, thanks I can't stop listening to the song 'Mirror Mirror'. I've only recently found them haha Oh man, no offense, but that album sounded really bad to me. I like their album The Poison though, that one's really good. I like it, but to be honest, it's probably not their best. I agree The Poison is probably one of the best, that or Scream Aim Fire
Vertigo_95 567 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 The most recent album I bought, digitally not physically, was Hail to The King by Avenged Sevenfold back in August. The way they did their songs in this one is different than the others. They were inspired by other bands like Metallica so that's pretty cool.

~Silver Essence~ 2,617 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 My latest album purchase was by the hit 80's rock band Queen. They are legendary, and I tend to listen more to their lesser known ones like death on two legs. I have also bought a few from the album of 4/16. ~Asuka <3~ 867 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 In my case most recent album I've bought was Swallow The Sun - Hope. Nice pick. I love Swallow the Sun. It's like a doomy Insomnium, you know? The most recent album I've purchased would be 'Cold River' by Mountain Witch. Mountain Witch is a stoner/doom metal band based in Germany, and they deliver the goods on this album. The riffs are incredible, the bass lines are killer, and it's got some killer grooves. It's a little repetitive, but still, very enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend it. Here's a track of the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rc8ClU0zbI

~Asuka <3~ 867 January 8, 2014 Share January 8, 2014 Helvetios by Eluveitie Also a nice pick. I've listened to Helvetios at least forty times, and it never gets old. I know, I even mentioned that Insomnium is the band that reminds me of Swallow The Sun most in my post :3 And they are amazing, I am now hunting for The Morning Never Came album, it's the only one left to buy :3 Oh, shit. Sorry mate, I skipped over that when I was reading your post. By the way, nice. Do you like any other death/doom bands?

Sorry mate, I skipped over that when I was reading your post. By the way, nice. Do you like any other death/doom bands? In my case I listen to very random bands from random genres. I generally label it all as "dark metal" and among such bands in my case there are also: Draconian, Shape of despair, Soulfallen, Vildhjarta (for some djent is not metal, but heaviness of their record speaks for itself), Novembers Doom, Agalloch, Evoken, Daylight Dies, Doom VS and more that I really can't remember
