Okay, so there's a thread for bad sequels--let's give the good sequels a chance now!

 

Here are some sequels I like (or even love):

 

Kung Fu Panda 2

Despicable Me 2

Cars 2 (don't hurt me -_-)

The Toy Story sequels

Monsters University

Madagascar 3 (the only Madagascar movie I actually liked)

Revenge of the Sith (please don't kill me for enjoying the prequels! Hey, at least I don't like Jar Jar either...)

ESB is a classic, and will forever be my favorite Star Wars film.

 

As far as sequels go, James Cameron's "Aliens," set the standard for what a sequel should be as well as defining the Sci-Fi/Action/Survival-Horror genre.

I gotta say......Toy Story sequels, and Kung Fu Panda 2 (thats b/c Jean-Claude Van Damme voices Master Croc).

Batman: The Dark Knight has to be one of the best sequels compared to it's predecessor I have ever seen.

 

Aliens was and still continues to be one of my favorite movies of all time.

 

Chronicles of Riddick in my opinion was an amazing sequel to Pitch Black.

 

I found Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith to be pretty good sequels (despite the overall hate for the prequel collection).

Not looking forward to Mockingjay...read the books and I felt the third was the weakest of the books.

Sean Connery is just... Top-notch in the entire film.

 

The comedy in it is just the perfect amount of said thing for me, too.

Die Hard 2 & 3, not only did they manage to make McClane seem like a bigger badass with the sequels. It's amount of untamed action has never been surpassed by any other movie from the way I see it. 

 

Oh, & Aliens was also a really great sequel; though it could used a bit more of that psychological horror.
