AppleGearRising 522 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Ok the title is pretty self-explanatory so I wont go into that too much. So in light of recent events revolving around the circulation of a certain image declaring death to all bronies it got me thinking; who in their right mind would declare death to a very large amount of people, most of whom they've probably never even seen? Are we hated THAT much? And moreover what's the point in hating us?
Delernil 951 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 (edited) cuz ur gay u fagget pony humpr pedo breadneck I don't know. Because we challenge society. I see no reason to hate someone based on what they like. That's the stupidest possible thing to ever judge someone on. Seriously guys. Smarts 1,616 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Because the human race always looks for something to hate and attack. If they don't have anything to direct their anger towards, they will find something. It's just that bronies are easy targets because of the show they like. Nothing else, just that reason alone. It truly is pathetic.
~Chaotic Eddie~ 478 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Because cyber-bullies want someone to target. It happens to anyone who they don't perceive as "normal".
Super Derpy 534 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Like Delernil said we challenge society. And a lot of people out in the world really don't like people going against the social norm, even if it doesn't affect them in any way.
Scootalove 10,672 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 It's because, people are so stubborn that they would send death threats to people who like something that they don't. Think of it like this: ''If I don't like this thing, I'm not going to accept them in society and send them death threats for no reason.'' That's what they think.
~Silver Essence~ 2,617 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Because this world is incomplete without people like these. However, considering the still odd majority of what the fandom is made of, others will assume the worst and attack at all cost. Luckily, that never bothers me, so you can't let others go down on you like that no matter what.
DND 2,350 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Oh boy, another one of these threads... It's all the same, guys. It's just society. It really is true what they say. People are insecure and afraid of things they just don't understand. No one bothers to get their research done, and they all think we're sad excuses of human beings that don't deserve to breathe their air. Whatever... it's just the world.

Lightwing 12,859 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 (edited) The problem is the society.Think about it,we've born on a society who separates the "manly activities" from the "girly activities" without thinking that they're not so different. I consider the bronies as the people who stopped thinking about the world basing on that stereotype(hence watching MLP and/or other thing who are not considered "manly" by the society) The haters are those who,due for a stereotype applied by the society(if you do girly/manly stuff as a man, you're not representing your gender),they think they're right about what they say, without even trying to see why is this possible. Summarizing, they hate us because of a stereotype applied by the society since the 80s. The lesson here is to ignore them, because they're too busy hating us to see why we are what we are Edited January 25, 2014 by ChampionLW19
 FlutterPie365 9 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Hating us already makes us sad, but death threats? Thats realy messed up.
~SadisticFluttershy~ 779 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 More of these threads? Don't we have enough of these already? They give us death threats because were "Different" to them. They're right, but we're still human beings no matter. Those kinds of people have a lack of maturity that's just makes me shake my head so much that it falls off. (Not meant to be graphic). It's pathetic really. They threat us but they don't do a damn thing. Even if they did, they'll just have a rifle, shotgun, pistol barrel in their face and I'd ask them to say it again but this time in a 'scared for your life' way. Where I'm from. you don't mess with people like me. Being a southerner has it's advantages. Best one is: Weapons, God's faith and Freedom. Getting out of topic here... Anywho, they wouldn't have the balls or courage or anything to come down here to my part of Texas and give me a death threat cause the next thing they know, they'll be dead or may as well be ran out of town. Reason behind it like I said is because we are "Different". So what? Everyone's different in their own way. Don't know why they have to see us as abunch of Pony Fuckers, Pony Pervs, Cloppers.. you know the drill. It's just sad really. Who cares if we like MLP, who cares if we like sexy pictures.. who the hell cares? It's no different to looking at sluts in slutty clothing with big boobs. Whatever. It's no different other than species. Not a big deal. I'm sick and tired of these people giving us death threats. Personally, I've never had anyone give me a death threat. Even if it happens over the internet. They can't do a damn thing. If they said it to me in real life that doesn't live in Texas. They're dead on the spot. It's life buddy. Just got to learn how to deal and live with it. Nothing else to it. Can't do anything about it so.. ya know. Just ignore it and you will be fine. If it's not happening to you personally, you shouldn't care. If it happens to your friends, family.. that's a whole nother deal. Other than that. Ignore it.
Fluttershyfan94 5,708 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Guess that's just how it is, we're an easy target but death threats that's going over the line. Though we can't forget that it's the internet so things like that are to be expected it's sad but true.
 Badges 3

Katana 298 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 Game developers get death threats for nerfing a weapon in a video game. Honestly, the internet in general sends out the most horrible bullying threats for the simplest things. The problem isn't centric to bronies - and while currently, the best response is "ignore them", the BETTER response is to use either the law, or psychology, to make a long-term change to internet culture. Additionally, while you can't protect yourself so easily, you can at least make sure you defend other people if they're ever in the vicinity. Silence implies consent. It's definitely nerve-wracking to try to talk back to someone, or a group of people, who are harrassing you in some way, but from my experience it feels less victimizing to come vocally to someone else's aid. ("White-knighting" is another issue, but honestly it's less of a concern on anyone's part)

Espurr 448 January 25, 2014 Share January 25, 2014 (edited) Society is just plain mean. One step out of line, one sign you're not normal and you are would be in the line of fire. Line of fire as in; tease and threaten. Not to mention the system was messed up from the beginning. And if you show signs of any weakness, people will use that against you and hurt you. My little pony is seen by some as a weakness. As it isn't, but the system is so messed up that most people would think it's normal to hate people who like someone who likes something strange.
