Courageous Thunder Dash 7,404 January 29, 2014 Share January 29, 2014 ...When we used to make OCs as OP as they can get, decking them up with any power and ability we can think of? Making them the most Mary Sue of Mary Sues, and the most perfect OC ever? And remember when we joined a site we tried to enter that charater in and it was completely denied and we got all upset about it? Well, when I was really into pokemon, I made this one character named Steller, who was a mutant. He could turn into 6 different pokemon and power up DBZ style to upper forms. In his max forms, he had almost infinite power. He had almost no weaknessess. LOL What about you? What type of OP character(s) did you make back in the day? Unikitty 1,211 January 29, 2014 Share January 29, 2014 I don't think those days have ended. At all. It still terrifies me to not select the "Most Popular" tag on DA.Thankfully, it was drilled into me quite early on in life that OP Mary-Sue character were to be avoided at all costs. I also can't stand characters with bad palettes. e.e
Jackleberry 1,830 January 29, 2014 Share January 29, 2014 Uh ... none- at least, none that I can remember off the top of my head. I'm sure I've made plenty of 'OP' characters in the past though, knowing me. However I do tend to make 'Mary Sue' style characters somewhat often, like when I'm writing fanfics or making OCs and such.
 Badges

~Chaotic Eddie~ 478 January 29, 2014 Share January 29, 2014 (edited) I was unlike the others, in that if ever I created characters I'd make them rational. Once I built what I called a "SpyBot" out of Kids' K'Nex (like K'nex but larger and less plasticky), and demonstrated it to the other kids. It was designed to be compact, with only small weapons. However, someone else adapted my design to include giant chainguns which also functioned as extra boosters. I protested, claiming that this ruined the design, but people still preferred the new "BattleBot" to my strategically-designed spy drone. Goes to show what kids were like back then.On the other hand I did sometimes create my own Sonic OCs based on myself and my friends. I was pretty much a Sonic clone with Shadow's spikes, in purple and with the name "E.P. Shade", or just "Shades" for short. (E standing for my first name, Eddy. and P for his colouration, Purple.). A friend of mine was a T-rex who was basically Vector the Crocodile by any other name/species) and another (female) friend of mine was a dog with a jetpack. Aside from that though, I didn't really design characters, what I preferred to do was draw gadgets, for instance laser guns or psychic headsets, even going as far as doughnut machines. ChoroChii 283 January 29, 2014 Share January 29, 2014 Nope, never did anything like that. When I was little I made a bunch of recolored baby Froggers and cut them out to play. I also had a notebook where I'd draw a bunch of different Kirbies and call them "selfs" like different sides of me. As I got older, I liked making fanfictions where I'd take a fictional character and change their name, then RP with them and they'd just turn into a different character. I also gave pretty much everything a personality, like I'd collect bracelets and then make them characters. I'd even imagine my hands and feet had their own personality. Ooh, I remember I made a television station in my head and it had a bunch of shows, like one was based off of the adventures of my hamsters. xD I did a lot of weird things but nah, I never made some awful thing and post it online. ...Though I did make a bunch of characters YouTubes and Facebooks and pretend they were real. That ended up bringing a lot of guilt, I tricked a lot of friends and stuff but I owed up to that. :u
FatalRain 108 March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 To be honest, I never made characters like that My characters have always had both positive and negative characteristics because I could always see the good and bad in people and wanted my characters to be "normal" I guess haha
Treble Bolt 1,120 March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 I can't really make an OP character....All my characters are based off real people, with my own OC being based off myself. If my OC is a mary sue...then I am a mary sue (and I really don't believe I am)....
The Wife of Douma 18,128 March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 I actually never created a Mary-Su character/ I did use to draw my Sonic fan character but she was by no means perfect.
 Badges
Khaoios 1,967 March 17, 2014 Share March 17, 2014 (edited) I remember I used to and still do make a lot of OC's for various fan fics, like obviously MLP, Halo, Mobile Suit Gundam, Kingdom Hearts, etc. However, to make them OP, I try to avoid that fearing I would get bashed, yet Im very precise when I make my OC and not make them into "mary-sue" characters. Aside from that, I also use to create OC's when building legos or K'Nex (oh those were the day's ) Edited March 17, 2014 by Promethean Alicorn

Oblivion 20,257 March 21, 2014 Share March 21, 2014 You know my OC (Oblivion)? Well.....It just so happens that he can blow up galaxy's by thinking about it! But at least he really isn't a marry sue character, he actually does have quite a few character flaws!
 Badges
~Chaotic Eddie~ 478 March 21, 2014 Share March 21, 2014 I never really thought that way - When I made something it was always built for purpose, not too OP, including OCs.
