Luna was taken aback for the humans love of encryption. She rather like it. Though she didn't know what this Indiana Jonse was.

"Well, Geoff. The code is complex on levels that is difficult even for me to comprehend. The shapes and symbols of the journal are of Ancient Equestria. Long before mine of even my sister's time."

'Well you found out some of it, right? When I worked with code we copied it to use it again later. It sped things up. If we know a symbol means a certain letter, than we can find all of that letter in the text, right?' Geoff finished with a sigh. He noticed Luna's confused face. 'The symbols you already decoded can be decoded later in the message. Instead of reading it we build it letter by letter.' He said. He was getting really worked up about te code, but he missed making games.

"Unfortunately, we have tried that. Star Swirl was a brilliant mage. He created powerful spells and artifacts. The most powerful he hid away. This journal hold their location. But he was also very paranoid. He has placed many encryptions and illusions on this book. Finding one object would be a miracle in itself."
"Well, you summoned us. SO I guess that counts.

"Neigh, Aaron. That was merely the first page. Legend has it the further you go into the book, the more difficult the decipher, and more dangerous the item.

'Damn. There has to be a way to find it out quicker.' Geoff said as he eyed the book. Odd symbols were drawn over the page. 'I can't accept defey. There has to be a way to solve this quicker...' He mumbled as he read over it again. 'What about magic? Is tere any magic involved with this?'

"We tried. But if the wrong spell is used the pages become charred. Neither of us wanted to take the risk. We have thousands of books back in canterlot, but we prefer to do one item at a time."

Luna was quite enthralled by this humans love for codes. It was something she finally found in common with the human. And in some pony in general.

'Ok. How about working from a different angle? Did he have a significant number? Working backwards? There has to be some type of pattern. Even a genius can't be completely random.' Geoff said with aggravation. He never gave up and he'd be damned if this code beat him. 'This reminds me of Enigma. What did Blechley Park do...' He mumbled as he dug into his memory trying to remember the documentary he watched.

Luna's head came up.

"Different angle?"

Luna looked at the long text and markings. She tilted the book and found that the texts were merely elongated.

"Eureka! Geoff, you're a genius."

Luna brought him close for an excited kiss. She had not known what she had done. But to Aaron and Celestia. they watched with dropped jaws.

Geoff looked up as Luna shouted in joy. Geoff wasnt expecting the kiss. At firt he thought it felt...weird and awkard, but it wasnt. It felt human, really. He blushed a little and out on a sheepish grin. 'Uh...sorry?' He whispered. He could see Aaron and Celestia looking in awe and surprise. It gave him a slight smile.

"That lucky son of a-"

"Hey, don't be jealous. They could go great together."
Aaron and Celestia watched as the two looked to decipher the new code.

"Tia, Geoff has assisted in finding another item."
"Most excellent. Do you know what it is."
"Hold on a minute."

Luna's excited smile slowly faded as she read the words.

"Oh. Oh my goodness."
"What's up Luna."

Aaron leaned in close.

"The item is the mask of Nightmares. An item I've only heard stories about."

Celestia cam closer to her sister.

"T-This mask is not to be trifled with. Before I guarded the realm of dreams, this mask was used by a wizard in assistance to Star Swirl. They would use it to enter the realm and safe guard those who slept. However. One mage had other plans. He used it to terrify the ponies of the land."
Luna closed the book.

"This mask must be found."

Geoff realized the seriousness of the situation. 'Oh. That does sound like something we need to find right about now.' He said sarcastically, his eyes darting between the three of them. 'I don't know about you but I think we need to get moving about now. I'm up all night most of the time anyway.' He said flatly. This was extremely important.

"That will not be necessary, Geoff. If I know Star Swirl, it that he hid it in a near impossible place to find it. Somewhere no pony in their right of mind would dare travel."

Luna became frightened.

"Well, I'm going to bed. See you all tomorrow."
"Likewise. Good night Luna."

Celestia joined him in the tent. Leaving Luna and Geoff together.

'Uh, if you say so...' Geoff said with uncertainty. Both Aaron and Celestia disappeared into the tent while Geoff grabbed a blanket and pillow. 'G'night Luna. It's been an interesting one.' He smiled with a huge grin before settling in. It was uncomfortable but manageable. At least he was in the company of Luna. It was an odd day too. He smiled enforce he fell asleep.

Luna crept into the tent after Geoff. The night went by fast. The sisters awoke first. They sat outside, enjoying the crisp air.

"So, Lulu. Care to explain."
"Explain what?"

Celestia only used her nickname when she wanted to mess with her.

"You connection to Geoff."
"T'is only that of friendship, sister."
"Oh, I think its more than friendship. That kiss sealed that theory."
"What kiss?"
Celestia got in close.

"Last night you kissed Geoff."
Luna's eyes widened to that of dinner plates. Her memory of it came to her finally.

Geoff woke up. He looked to his right and saw Aaron. That meant the sisters were gone. He sat up and noticed that there was voices outside. He slowed his breath. He shuffled slowly to the tent flap, attempting to make out the voices. He here Luna and Celestia talking, but only heard a something about a theory. It went dead quiet. He bit his lip and held hos breath as he tried to keep listening.

The two sisters sat and talked, awaiting for the humans.

"So, I really did that, then. Was I out of line? Does he hate me?"
"Oh, I think hate is on the opposite of what he was thinking."

"Tia, this is not funny."
"It kinda is."
"Tia, I may have given the wrong impression of myself to him. I may have ruined a possible friendship."
"Do you like him?"

"What? Well of course I like him. He's smart, and he has the same interest as I do."
"Then don't worry your pretty little head about it."
Luna was terrified that what she had done may have ruined a friendship before it had begun.

Geoff heard what she had said. Content, he shook Aaron awake. 'Te sisters are stressed out now.' He whispered before coming out of the tent. 'Morning Celestia. Morning Luna. Any news on the mask?' He asked as he stretched. He ran over to the princesses. 'Something troubling you?'

Luna was trying to keep her cool. Celestia was smilng at her failing attempt to act natural.

"Y-Yes. The mask. Unfortunately I have not found anything as of this moment. But I will find it sooner or later. T-Thank you for asking, Geoff."
Aaron arose from his sleep. Getting dressed and went over to his friend, Celestia.

"Anything interesting?"
"Lots."
"Tell me about 'em."
"Later."

'Yeah. Keep me informed though, I'd like to know what we find.' Geoff smiled before grabbing a blanket he tied into a bag. E took out an apple and ate it, enjoying the food. He threw the sack next to the fire before turning to the woods. 'Ill be back later. I want to check this place out some more. Might help me figure out the codes.' He said before walking into the trees. He needed time to think. He usually was at his best alone, or with another person. Anything beyond that made him need solitary time.

"So, how's your sister."

"She's okay. I told her about her kiss."

"Really? How'd she take it."
"As expected."

They began to laugh a bit. Aaron grabbed an apple and split it with Celestia. He was trying to be a good guest to them since they did summon them. Might as well, be kind to them.

Geoff came back minutes later, covered in cuts and bruises. 'Turns out you have a ledge there...' He grimaced sarcastically. His jacket was torn up. He sat down against a tree. He took his jacket off, it in tatters. 'Well this day has certainly started well.' He chuckled as he wiped his cuts with a blanket. He ripped what remained of his jacket and wrapped it around his cuts. 'I think I'll just sit down for a while. This place hates me.'

Luna looked concerned. Her friend was covered in cuts.

"Oh my goodness!"
She got up and began to look him over. They were not big ones but she could help. Focusing her magic, Luna began to heal his wounds. Within seconds, his physical body was back to its original state.

Geoff felt really weird when Luna fixed him. 'Huh. I guess that works too.' He said, checking fr any injuries. 'Wow. That's really cool.' He chuckled. 'Thanks Luna. Now I can throw myself off any cliffs.' He smiled. Luna gave him a disapproving look. 'Uh, never mind.' He said with a chuckle.

Geoff stood up and stretched again. 'So what's next on our adventure?' He said as he looked to the camp. He smiled and sat down next to Luna. He checked himself over one more time. 'Thats cool Luna. I can't even feel any cuts or anything.' He thanked her again. 'Now if only we could fix my jacket.' Geoff chuckled.

"Unfortunately, our skills in mending clothing is below average."
"Its true. We tried sowing once. It was not a pleasant experience."

Celestia gave a giggle at the thought of the memory. Luna pulled out a map.

"As for our next destination. We will continue south east to reach our destination.

Aaron leaned in to look at the map.

Geoff looked over at the map. 'Eh, we could probably get there by evening or noon if we start about now. Shall I start packing?' He asked as he gathered his stuff. He threw it into his 'bag' and held it over his shoulder. He grabbed bags he could still carry and looked to the group. 'Im good.'

"Of course. Let us make haste."

The group gathered their belongings and went on their way. They soon found that it was getting hotter. And soon enough, it was turning into a desert landscape. Aaron began to sweat and took off his shirt, revealing his pudgy form. He tied his shirt on his head.
