Azure Envy 1,092 July 24, 2014 Share July 24, 2014 I'm not too big on strategy games, but I did play Age of Empires and Command & Conquer (specifically Red Alert and Generals, loved Generals) quite a bit.
paradoxical 1,735 July 24, 2014 Share July 24, 2014 Either the console or handheld they were originally made for, the game board, or emulators on my school-issued computer. For the school-issued, I only get it for the school year, and I can't surpass the iboss filter on it, so it's difficult to find games to play. Sun Tzu's art of war may work for you. It's fairly simplistic and I don't think some of the scenarios are winnable.
NonCreative 68 July 24, 2014 Share July 24, 2014 I loved to play Empire earth II, A.I war, hearts of iron 3, R,U.S.E, and all of the Wargame series. Strategy games are my favorite genre of games to play .

Discordian 6,013 July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 (edited) I love Strategy RPGs. Probably my favorite RPG subgenre even if not my most played. I know this topic isn't about RPGs specifically but that's the ones I play. My favorites are Wild Arms XF, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor and XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The only SRPGs I've ever actually beaten: Wild Arms XF and Final Fantasy Tactics. Working on Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Project X-Zone right now. Next SRPGs I plan to get/play: Fire Emblem: Awakening (don't own) Jeanne D'Arc (played some) Metal Gear Acid 2 (played some) Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, maybe (played the beginning) Edited July 25, 2014 by Discordian
Kothen 279 July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 I really enjoyed World in Conflict. I tried to get into Wargame but it was too complicated for me. Civ V is a great multiplayer game as well. I honestly avoid multiplayer in most strategy games because I know I will get rekt online.

Discordian 6,013 July 27, 2014 Share July 27, 2014 Does Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Pokémon count? Looking at gameplay for Battlefront 2 it looks like a shooter to me. Even if it was a tactical shooter like Rainbow Six it wouldn't really be considered a strategy game. And Pokemon is the farthest thing from a strategy game. A game requiring strategy to do well in it does not qualify it for the strategy genre. Much like playing a role in a game (which nearly every game ever does) does not qualify it as an RPG. --- So Project X-Zone is turning out kinda meh. It's taking way too long to get through any missions because they throw a million and one enemies at you. The battle system also gets old and repetitive real quick. No doubt they've got some potential here but what they did is really bogging the whole thing down. I kinda regret getting this over Shin Megami Tensei IV. But I flipped a coin and left it to chance. I reap what I sow. Can't go back on a gamble.
